Impact of IT Unit’s Decision Right on Organizational Risk Taking in IT

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is to understand how the company’s risk-taking decisions in IT adoption are influenced by the decision right of its IT unit. The study builds a theoretical framework capturing how the IT unit’s decision right influences two determinants of risk taking, perceived risk and risk propensity. This framework also illustrates how the impacts of these two determinants on the actual actions of IT adoption are moderated by the IT unit’s decision right. The framework is empirically tested using a dataset on the adoption of electronic supply chain management (e-SCM) systems. The findings suggest that the IT unit’s decision right is not associated with the decrease in perceived risk. However, it is associated with the increase in risk propensity. Moreover, the IT unit’s decision right strengthens the positive association between risk propensity and e-SCM adoption, and weakens the negative association between perceived risk and e-SCM adoption

Patients with bile duct stones always were discharged home with T tube after surgery, and often encountered problems in the nursing of T tube. From January 2013 to October 2014, a total of 125 patients with bile duct stones undergoing surgery were included in the study. Phone follow-ups were given and the data were collected. The results showed as follow: 68 patients had low short ability about T tube nursing, 34 patients had weak awareness about T tube defluxion, 31 patients had poor nursing about the wound, 29 patients had poor compliance, 67 patients felt nervous and anxious. During the phone follow-ups, health guidance including general nursing, tube defluxion prevention, wound nursing, compliance and psychological instruction were given to the patients. With such health guidance, patients could pass through the period of carrying T tube.

AbstractObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of survivin, p53 and Ki-67 on Hep-2 human laryngeal cancer endothelial cell proliferation and invasion.MethodsLaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and paracancerous normal tissues were collected, total RNA was extracted from tissues, survivin, p53 and Ki-67 gene mRNA expression levels in laryngeal cancer and the adjacent tissues were detected by Real-time PCR. Human laryngeal cancer Hep-2 epithelial cells were selected, survivin gene was overexpressed, and cell proliferation was detected by MTT. p53 and Ki-67 gene expression changes in overexpressed survivin gene were detected by Western blot. Changes in Hep-2 cell invasive ability were studied when survivin was overexpressed as detected by Transwell invasion assay.ResultsIn the adjacent tissues, survivin, p53 and Ki-67 gene relative expression levels were 1.72 ± 0.9, 13.7 ± 5.7 and 5.7 ± 1.3, respectively; while in cancer tissues, gene relative expression levels were 53.7 ± 8.3, 66.7 ± 5.2 and 61.0 ± 3.1, respectively, which was significantly increased. As detected by MTT, relative cell survival rate within 12 h of survivin overexpression were: load control group (88.5 ± 1.6)%; overexpressed group (90.3 ± 1.9)%. Transwell invasion assay results indicated that overexpressed survivin could significantly increase the relative survival rate of cells.ConclusionsExpressions of p53, Ki67 and survivin are increased in cancer; and there is a positive correlation between survivin, p53 and Ki67 expressions in laryngeal carcinoma

Symmetry of Dirac Equation and Corresponding Phenomenology

It has been suggested that the high symmetries in the Schr\"odinger equation with the Coulomb or harmonic oscillator potentials may remain in the corresponding relativistic Dirac equation. If the principle is correct, in the Dirac equation the potential should have a form as (1+β)2V(r){(1+\beta)\over 2}V(r) where V(r)V(r) is e2r{-e^2\over r} for hydrogen atom and κr2\kappa r^2 for harmonic oscillator. However, in the case of hydrogen atom, by this combination the spin-orbit coupling term would not exist and it is inconsistent with the observational spectra of hydrogen atom, so that the symmetry of SO(4) must reduce into SU(2). The governing mechanisms QED and QCD which induce potential are vector-like theories, so at the leading order only vector potential exists. However, the higher order effects may cause a scalar fraction. In this work, we show that for QED, the symmetry restoration is very small and some discussions on the symmetry breaking are made. At the end, we briefly discuss the QCD case and indicate that the situation for QCD is much more complicated and interesting.Comment: 15pages, 3 figures, accepted by International Journal of Modern Physics

Reinstatement of the corticioid genus Leifia (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota) with a new species L. brevispora from Hubei, Central China

The monotypic genus Leifia was previously considered to be a later synonym of Odonticium. With the morphological and phylogenetic evidence provided by an additional four East Asian specimens, we propose to reinstate Leifia as an independent genus in Hymenochaetales. Leifia morphologically differs from Odonticium by its grandinioid hymenophore with hyphal strands, numerous thick-walled cystidia with an invaginated apical end and narrowly and thick-walled basidia. The phylogeny generated from the current data set of ITS and 28S regions indicates that Leifia forms a sister clade to Odonticium. Besides the generic type Leifia flabelliradiata in the Leifia clade, two specimens, collected from Hubei, Central China, are newly introduced as Leifia brevispora. This new species is the second species of Leifia and differs from the generic type by its shorter basidiospores and distribution in warm-temperate to subtropical areas in East Asia. The additional two specimens, collected from Da Lat, Viet Nam, differ morphologically, both from each other and from known species of Leifia, but more samples need to be examined before further taxonomic decisions can be made

The molecular and crystal structures of the title compound, C16H14FN3O2, are stabilized by intramolecular N—H⋯O and intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The existence of non-classical intramolecular C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds provides a dihedral angle between the fluoro-substituted benzene and pyrimidinone rings of 7.9 (1)°
