    Entrepreneurial learning plays a significant role in promoting business model design. In the information age everyone will fall into the information cocoon effect. Will the information cocoons have an impact on entrepreneurs’ business model design decisions? Based on the cognitive perspective of business model research starting from the two entrepreneurial learning levels of individual learning and organizational learning this study constructs a logical relationship model that drives the business model design of start-ups through entrepreneurial learning. At the same time it is also taken into consideration that the phenomenon of information cocoons in the mass media environment exists in this process and has an impact on the business model design outcome. Through a questionnaire survey and empirical analysis of 322 entrepreneurs the research finds that in the process of entrepreneurship organizational learning matches the design of novelty-centered business models; information cocoons objectively exist in the process of business model design driven by entrepreneurial learning and it, to a certain extent limits the innovative behavior of entrepreneurs

    Electrochemical Conversion of Methane to Ethylene in a Solid Oxide Electrolyer

    Conversion of methane to ethylene with high yield remains a fundamental challenge due to the low ethylene selectivity, severe carbon deposition and instability of catalysts. Here we demonstrate a conceptually different process of in situ electrochemical oxidation of methane to ethylene in a solid oxide electrolyzer under ambient pressure at 850 °C. The porous electrode scaffold with an in situ-grown metal/oxide interface enhances coking resistance and catalyst stability at high temperatures. The highest C2 product selectivity of 81.2% together with the highest C2 product concentration of 16.7% in output gas (12.1% ethylene and 4.6% ethane) is achieved while the methane conversion reaches as high as 41% in the initial pass. This strategy provides an optimal performance with no obvious degradation being observed after 100 h of high temperature operation and 10 redox cycles, suggesting a reliable electrochemical process for conversion of methane into valuable chemicals

    Epitope-based vaccination might play an important role in the protective immunity against Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the immune characteristics of recombinant MVA carrying multi-epitope gene of JEV (rMVA-mep). The synthetic gene containing critical epitopes (B-cell, CTL and Th) of JEV was cloned into the eukaryotic expression vector pGEM-K1L, and the rMVA-mep was prepared. BALB/c mice were immunized with different dosages of purified rMVA-mep and the immune responses were determined in the form of protective response against JEV, antibodies titers (IgG1 and IgG2a), spleen cell lymphocyte proliferation, and the levels of interferon-γ and interleukin-4 cytokines. The results showed that live rMVA-mep elicited strongly immune responses in dose-dependent manner, and the highest level of immune responses was observed from the groups immunized with 107 TCID50 rMVA-mep among the experimental three concentrations. There were almost no difference of cytokines and neutralizing antibody titers among 107 TCID50 rMVA-mep, recombinant ED3 and inactivated JEV vaccine. It was noteworthy that rMVA-mep vaccination potentiates the Th1 and Th2-type immune responses in dose-dependent manner, and was sufficient to protect the mice survival against lethal JEV challenge. These findings demonstrated that rMVA-mep can produce adequate humoral and cellular immune responses, and protection in mice, which suggested that rMVA-mep might be an attractive candidate vaccine for preventing JEV infection

    Introduction: In the development of atherosclerosis, the remodeling of blood vessels is a key process involving plaque formation and rupture. So far, most reports mainly believe that macrophages, smooth muscle cells, and endothelial cells located at the intima and media of artery play the key role in this process. Few studies had focused on whether fibroblasts located at adventitia are involved in regulating disease process.Methods and results: In this study, we conducted in-depth analysis of single-cell RNA-seq data of the total of 18 samples from healthy and atherosclerotic arteries. This study combines several analysis methods including transcription regulator network, cell-cell communication network, pseudotime trajectory, gene set enrichment analysis, and differential expression analysis. We found that SERPINF1 is highly expressed in fibroblasts and is involved in the regulation of various signaling pathways.Conclusion: Our research reveals a potential mechanism of atherosclerosis, SERPINF1 regulates the formation and rupture of plaques through the Jak-STAT signaling pathway, which may provide new insights into the pathological study of disease. Moreover, we suggest that SRGN and IGKC as potential biomarkers for unstable arterial plaques

    Background and Purpose - We sought to determine whether folic acid supplementation can independently reduce the risk of first stroke associated with elevated total cholesterol levels in a subanalysis using data from the CSPPT (China Stroke Primary Prevention Trial), a double-blind, randomized controlled trial. Methods - A total of 20 702 hypertensive adults without a history of major cardiovascular disease were randomly assigned to a double-blind daily treatment of an enalapril 10-mg and a folic acid 0.8-mg tablet or an enalapril 10-mg tablet alone. The primary outcome was first stroke. Results - The median treatment duration was 4.5 years. For participants not receiving folic acid treatment (enalapril-only group), high total cholesterol (≥ 200 mg/dL) was an independent predictor of first stroke when compared with low total cholesterol (\u3c200 mg/dL; 4.0% versus 2.6%; hazard ratio, 1.52; 95% confidence interval, 1.18-1.97; P=0.001). Folic acid supplementation significantly reduced the risk of first s roke among participants with high total cholesterol (4.0% in the enalapril-only group versus 2.7% in the enalapril-folic acid group; hazard ratio, 0.69; 95% confidence interval, 0.56-0.84 P\u3c0.001; number needed to treat, 78; 95% confidence interval, 52-158), independent of baseline folate levels and other important covariates. By contrast, among participants with low total cholesterol, the risk of stroke was 2.6% in the enalapril-only group versus 2.5% in the enalapril-folic acid group (hazard ratio, 1.00; 95% confidence interval, 0.75-1.30; P=0.982). The effect was greater among participants with elevated total cholesterol (P for interaction=0.024). Conclusions - Elevated total cholesterol levels may modify the benefits of folic acid therapy on first stroke. Folic acid supplementation reduced the risk of first stroke associated with elevated total cholesterol by 31% among hypertensive adults without a history of major cardiovascular diseases

    Search for light dark matter from atmosphere in PandaX-4T

    Full text link
    We report a search for light dark matter produced through the cascading decay of η\eta mesons, which are created as a result of inelastic collisions between cosmic rays and Earth's atmosphere. We introduce a new and general framework, publicly accessible, designed to address boosted dark matter specifically, with which a full and dedicated simulation including both elastic and quasi-elastic processes of Earth attenuation effect on the dark matter particles arriving at the detector is performed. In the PandaX-4T commissioning data of 0.63 tonne\cdotyear exposure, no significant excess over background is observed. The first constraints on the interaction between light dark matter generated in the atmosphere and nucleus through a light scalar mediator are obtained. The lowest excluded cross-section is set at 5.9×1037cm25.9 \times 10^{-37}{\rm cm^2} for dark matter mass of 0.10.1 MeV/c2/c^2 and mediator mass of 300 MeV/c2/c^2. The lowest upper limit of η\eta to dark matter decay branching ratio is 1.6×1071.6 \times 10^{-7}

    A Search for Light Fermionic Dark Matter Absorption on Electrons in PandaX-4T

    Full text link
    We report a search on a sub-MeV fermionic dark matter absorbed by electrons with an outgoing active neutrino using the 0.63 tonne-year exposure collected by PandaX-4T liquid xenon experiment. No significant signals are observed over the expected background. The data are interpreted into limits to the effective couplings between such dark matter and electrons. For axial-vector or vector interactions, our sensitivity is competitive in comparison to existing astrophysical bounds on the decay of such dark matter into photon final states. In particular, we present the first direct detection limits for an axial-vector (vector) interaction which are the strongest in the mass range from 25 to 45 (35 to 50) keV/c2^2
