Myth Theory and Structuralism —A Study of Lévi- Strauss’s mythological Research from Myth and Meaning

Myth as a cultural phenomenon, reflects a period of human civilization development and change track. Under the influence of Marxist theory and psychoanalysis in his early years, Lévi-Strauss believed that the study of myth not only extended space as the main line and supplemented the early history which emphasized the dimension of time, but also explored the significance of “naturalizing man” in cultural studies. This paper discusses Lévi- Strauss’s views on the relationship between myth and science, myth and history, myth and music, as well as structuralism in his book myth and meaning, and discusses his understanding of self and existence in the study of myth

Analysis of Translation Errors in English-Chinese Translation Practice

This paper adopts the error score method to study the English-Chinese translation quality of MTI English translation majors from five dimensions: fidelity, fluency, terminology translation, style and cultural acceptance, taking the Chinese translation practice texts of students majoring in MTI English translation as the research object. The results show that students are more likely to make mistakes in terms of fluency and terminology when translating from Chinese to English, and students have difficulties in conveying the style of the original text when translating from Chinese to English. The results propose some methods of avoiding translation errors and improving the quality of translation teaching

Selective Refinement Network for High Performance Face Detection

High performance face detection remains a very challenging problem, especially when there exists many tiny faces. This paper presents a novel single-shot face detector, named Selective Refinement Network (SRN), which introduces novel two-step classification and regression operations selectively into an anchor-based face detector to reduce false positives and improve location accuracy simultaneously. In particular, the SRN consists of two modules: the Selective Two-step Classification (STC) module and the Selective Two-step Regression (STR) module. The STC aims to filter out most simple negative anchors from low level detection layers to reduce the search space for the subsequent classifier, while the STR is designed to coarsely adjust the locations and sizes of anchors from high level detection layers to provide better initialization for the subsequent regressor. Moreover, we design a Receptive Field Enhancement (RFE) block to provide more diverse receptive field, which helps to better capture faces in some extreme poses. As a consequence, the proposed SRN detector achieves state-of-the-art performance on all the widely used face detection benchmarks, including AFW, PASCAL face, FDDB, and WIDER FACE datasets. Codes will be released to facilitate further studies on the face detection problem.Comment: The first two authors have equal contributions. Corresponding author: Shifeng Zhang ([email protected]

Clinical Characteristics and Survival Analysis of Two Groups of Patients with Colon Cancer with Different Social Support

Colon cancer is the third largest cancer in the world at present[1], which is very common in developed countries, and the incidence rate in developing countries is also increasing year by year. The latest epidemiological report shows that 376000 new colon cancer patients and 191000 deaths have occurred in China. In the past ten years, our understanding of cancer has made new progress [2]. However, in the current research, there has been no progress in the research on the occurrence, development and prevention of colon cancer related to physical and mental diseases. In the latest research, there are studies on the influence of psychological factors in the molecular field from the perspective of psychology, which is of great help to the research on the occurrence, development and prognosis of colon cancer. In order to explore the influence of social psychological factors on the occurrence, development and prognosis of colon cancer, the experiment collected clinical data, social support scores, and followed up disease-free survival period and total survival period of colon cancer patients
