Objective: Tribulus Terrestris is a medicinal plant cultivated in temperate regions of the world. Inner Mongolia is one of the main producing areas of Tribulus Terrestris. We aimed in this study to examine the effect of Tribulus Terrestris extract on the aging process. Methods: A total of 50 mice were used for the experiment. They were divided randomly into 5 groups (10 animals in each group): normal control group and four aging groups. Results: Compared to the normal aging group, the parameters of the thymus gland and spleen of an aging group fed with a high and medium amount of Tribulus has visibly increased (p < 0.05). The content of blood catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) of blood serum of an aging group fed with a high and medium amount of Tribulus Terrestris has visibly increased (p < 0.05) compared to that in the aging group. Also, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in blood serum has visibly lowered. We further have measured the SOD, GSH-Px content in brain tissue of each group of mice. Conclusion: Compared with the normal control group, the SOD content was decreased significantly and MDA content was significantly increased in the aging group of mice

Inverse Projection Representation and Category Contribution Rate for Robust Tumor Recognition

Sparse representation based classification (SRC) methods have achieved remarkable results. SRC, however, still suffer from requiring enough training samples, insufficient use of test samples and instability of representation. In this paper, a stable inverse projection representation based classification (IPRC) is presented to tackle these problems by effectively using test samples. An IPR is firstly proposed and its feasibility and stability are analyzed. A classification criterion named category contribution rate is constructed to match the IPR and complete classification. Moreover, a statistical measure is introduced to quantify the stability of representation-based classification methods. Based on the IPRC technique, a robust tumor recognition framework is presented by interpreting microarray gene expression data, where a two-stage hybrid gene selection method is introduced to select informative genes. Finally, the functional analysis of candidate's pathogenicity-related genes is given. Extensive experiments on six public tumor microarray gene expression datasets demonstrate the proposed technique is competitive with state-of-the-art methods.Comment: 14 pages, 19 figures, 10 table

Objective: Through the introduction of OEC management mode, build “be hospitalized- in the hospital – discharge”in each stage of scientific, humanized nursing quality management system, improve the patients' satisfaction degree. Methods:Through the pre discharged patients satisfaction telephone follow-up, analyze the key links of satisfaction, to establish the Humanized, scientific and rational management system based on the OEC management model, Modify and improve the work process and evaluation index that Influence the quality of patient satisfaction of nursing links, implemented on a pilot unit, the comparison between the experimental unit and non-pilot ward patient satisfaction. Results: Analyze of satisfaction before and after the implementation of the quality control management mode based on OEC mode: (1)pilot wards in after the implementation of self-satisfaction is significantly higher than before < 0.05), and non-pilot unit has no significant difference before and after the implementation of self-satisfaction in (P > 0.05); (2)the pilot unit and non-pilot unit, the discharged patients satisfaction was significantly higher than the latter (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The quality control of nursing process based on the OEC management mode can improve the patients' satisfaction degree significantly, that can be widely used in hospital nursing management.

Purpose: To determine the antioxidant and anti-diabetic potential of a natural flavonoid, caffeic acid in a streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat model. Methods: Experimental diabetes was induced in Wistar rats using streptozotocin injection. Caffeic acid was administered orally on daily basis for 5 weeks. A glucometer was used to monitor fasting blood glucose levels. Insulin levels were estimated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The antioxidant potential of caffeic acid was measured by determining the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), and levels of reduced glutathione (GSH) in rat liver. Standard assays were performed to determine the lipid profile of the rats. Histopathological analysis was performed to determine differences in microscopic structures of pancreas among the different treatment groups. Results: Caffeic acid administration resulted in significant enhancement of serum insulin level, and decrease in blood glucose level of diabetic rat models (p < 0.05). Caffeic acid exerted antioxidant effects by significantly increasing GSH levels and activities of CAT and SOD (p < 0.05). Histologicalexamination of the pancreas depicted normal islet morphology under caffeic acid administration in diabetic rats. Conclusion: These results reveal the antioxidant potential and anti-diabetic effect of caffeic acid in a diabetic rat model and point towards the potential applicability of caffeic acid in the management of diabetes mellitus. In the title compound, C20H32N2O2S2, the cyclohexene ring is disordered over two half-boat conformations with occupancy factors of 0.71:0.29. One n-butyl chain is also disordered over two positions with occupancy factors of 0.83:0.17. The molecular conformation is stabilized by an intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond

Rear axle compliance steering (RACS) is a technology of passive four-wheel steering, which is designed to improve the vehicle handling and stability at medium or high speed. This paper focuses on the dynamic behavior of the vehicle with RACS. Firstly, the compliance steering principle for different rear suspensions is illustrated. Then, the viscoelastic members with fractional order derivative properties are introduced into RACS, and the fractional order model of RACS is formulated. Next, the dynamic model of the vehicle with RACS is established, the adjusting rules for the compliance steering stiffness are derived, and the vehicle stability is investigated. Finally, numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the effects on the vehicle dynamic behavior caused by the compliance steering stiffness, the viscoelastic members and the vehicle longitudinal velocity. Research results show that, the vehicle with RACS has better dynamic characteristics than that without RACS at medium or high speed; and the compliance steering stiffness, the viscoelastic members and the vehicle longitudinal velocity have different impacts on the vehicle lateral dynamic behavior
