The paper shows the clamp-less assembly idea as a very important one in the modern assembly. Assembly equipment such as clamps represent a significant group of industrial equipment in manufacturing plants whose number can be effectively reduced. The article presents the concept of using industrial robot equipped with a triangulation scanner in the assembly process in order to minimize the number of clamps that hold the units in a particular position in space. It also shows how the system searches for objects in the point cloud based on multi-step processing algorithm proposed in this work, then picks them up, transports and positions them in the right assembly locations with the use of industrial robot manipulator. The accuracy of the positioning of parts was also examined as well as the impact of the number of iterations of the algorithm searching the models in the point cloud on the accuracy of determining the position of the objects. The tests show that presented system is suitable for assembly of various items as plastic packaging and palletizing of products. Such kind of system is the basis for modern, fully flexible assembly systems

An expected utility model and a chance constrained linear programming model were used to analyze four marketing strategies and seven crop insurance alternatives in cotton marketing in Georgia. The results obtained suggest that the existing marketing tools and insurance alternatives can be used successfully as a substitute for government support.Demand and Price Analysis, Marketing, Risk and Uncertainty,

The aim of this article is to analyze the activeness and the effectiveness of the final beneficiaries in the implementation of the activities under the Local Development Strategy implementation, by the Local Activity Group Puszcza Notecka Association. This Association is working as part of the 4th Priority Axis "Leader”, of the Rural Development Programme for 2007-2013 in Poland. The final beneficiaries are the entities obtaining an co-funding through the LAG. Article lays emphasis on the analysis of the variability in activeness and effectiveness of implementation of the Local Development Strategy in system of calls for proposals, which were published by LAG Puszcza Notecka in the years 2009-2014. The analysis also contains the assessment of a spatial dispersion of activeness and effectiveness in a territorial division of communities, associated in LAG Puszcza Notecka. The results are collated with the level of socio-economical development, including a diversity o f quality of the human and social capital in researched area. The issues and the successes of implementation of the Local Development Strategy were exhibited in the article too.

Identification of differentiating metabolic pathways between infant gut microbiome populations reveals depletion of function-level adaptation to human milk in the finnish population

ABSTRACT A variety of autoimmune and allergy events are becoming increasingly common, especially in Western countries. Some pieces of research link such conditions with the composition of microbiota during infancy. In this period, the predominant form of nutrition for gut microbiota is oligosaccharides from human milk (HMO). A number of gut-colonizing strains, such as Bifidobacterium and Bacteroides, are able to utilize HMO, but only some Bifidobacterium strains have evolved to digest the specific composition of human oligosaccharides. Differences in the proportions of the two genera that are able to utilize HMO have already been associated with the frequency of allergies and autoimmune diseases in the Finnish and the Russian populations. Our results show that differences in terms of the taxonomic annotation do not explain the reason for the differences in the Bifidobacterium/Bacteroides ratio between the Finnish and the Russian populations. In this paper, we present the results of function-level analysis. Unlike the typical workflow for gene abundance analysis, BiomeScout technology explains the differences in the Bifidobacterium/Bacteroides ratio. Our research shows the differences in the abundances of the two enzymes that are crucial for the utilization of short type 1 oligosaccharides. IMPORTANCE Knowing the limitations of taxonomy-based research, there is an emerging need for the development of higher-resolution techniques. The significance of this research is demonstrated by the novel method used for the analysis of function-level metagenomes. BiomeScout—the presented technology—utilizes proprietary algorithms for the detection of differences between functionalities present in metagenomic samples
