B Leptonic Decays and B- bar B Mixing with 2+1 Flavors of Dynamical Quarks
Calculations of B leptonic decays and B- bar B mixing using NRQCD heavy and
Asqtad light valence quarks on the MILC dynamical configurations are described.
Smearing has been implemented to substantially reduce the statistical errors of
the matrix elements needed for the determination of f_B. The four-fermion
matrix elements needed for the determination of f_{B_s}^2B_{B_s} have been

ON WORKAHOLISM: DO PARENTAL WORK BEHAVIORS PREDICT THE WORK BEHAVIORS OF UNDERGRADUATES?
This cross-sectional study examined the associations among perceived parental behavior and personality on work behaviors of undergraduate students from a large Southeastern university. Past research suggests that children who perceive their parents to be workaholics are more likely to exhibit workaholic behavior themselves (Chamberlin & Zhang, 2009). Moreover, personality factors including conscientiousness and neuroticism, have been categorized as antecedents of workaholic behavior in previous studies (Andreassen, Hetland, & Pallesen, 2010; Aziz & Tronzo, 2011; Burke, Matthiesen, & Pallesen, 2006). Students (N = 209) completed questionnaires assessing Big Five personality factors, dispositional optimism, and perceptions of parental work drive, parental work involvement, and parental work enjoyment. Hypotheses regarding parental work behaviors and their ability to predict undergraduate student work behavior were not supported. Conscientiousness and extraversion were significant predictors of work drive, involvement and enjoyment. Neuroticism was also significant in predicting work drive among students included in the sample. Findings and recommendations for future study are discussed
Work Hope and Work Volition: Exploring the Influence of Community College Students’ Rurality and Socioeconomic Status
Data from a sample of community college students (N = 478) in Virginia were used to examine relations among rurality, socioeconomic status, work hope, and work volition. Socioeconomic status, work hope, and work volition were positively associated. However, rurality, measured both as a continuous and categorical variable, was not correlated with work hope or work volition. Additional analyses showed convergence between measures of work hope and work volition confirming construct similarity. Results, limitations, implications, and recommendations for future study are included
Thermal-vacuum test report for the ultraviolet spectrometer thermal model
Early design studies showed that the UV spectrometer thermal design margins were very small so that an experimental confirmation of the analytical model would be desirable. At that time the prototype unit was scheduled too far downstream to be of value, so a separate thermal model was built for use in verifying the analytical model
Heavy-Light Meson Semileptonic Decays with Staggered Light Quarks
We report on exploratory studies of heavy-light meson semileptonic decays
using Asqtad light quarks, NRQCD heavy quarks and Symanzik improved glue on
coarse quenched lattices. Oscillatory contributions to three-point correlators
coming from the staggered light quarks are found to be handled well by Bayesian
fitting methods. B meson decays to both the Goldstone pion and to one of the
point-split non-Goldstone pions are investigated. One-loop perturbative

Parareal Convergence for Oscillatory PDEs with Finite Time-scale Separation
This is the final version. Available on open access from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics via the DOI in this recordA variant of the Parareal method for highly oscillatory systems of PDEs was proposed by Haut and Wingate (2014). In that work they proved superlinear conver- gence of the method in the limit of infinite time scale separation. Their coarse solver features a coordinate transformation and a fast-wave averag- ing method inspired by analysis of multiple scales PDEs and is integrated using an HMM-type method. However, for many physical applications the timescale separation is finite, not infinite. In this paper we prove con- vergence for finite timescale separaration by extending the error bound on the coarse propagator to this case. We show that convergence requires the solution of an optimization problem that involves the averaging win- dow interval, the time step, and the parameters in the problem. We also propose a method for choosing the averaging window relative to the time step based as a function of the finite frequencies inherent in the problem.University of Exete
