    This article discusses the interference analysis of medium voltage air line 20 kv feeder using failure mode and effects analysis method. The distribution network consists of two parts, the first the distribution network consists of two parts, the first is the medium / primary voltage (JTM) network, which supplies electrical power from the sub-transmission substation to the distribution substation, the primary distribution network uses three wires or four wires for three phases. the impact of the reliability index from the calculation of the impact of the reliability index based on the number of disturbances (SAIFI), it shows that in January 2019 it has the highest index value, namely SAIFI, 1,695 disturbances/ subscribers. From the results of the calculation of the impact of the reliability index based on the number of blackouts (SAIDI), it shows that in January 2019 the SAIDI index value was 3,883 hours/customer

    The cash crop boom in southern Myanmar: tracing land use regime shifts through participatory mapping

    Tropical forest landscapes are undergoing vast transformations. Myanmar was long an exceptionto this trend–until recent policy reforms put economic development at the forefront. Underambiguous land rights, commercial agriculture has spread rapidly, causing an unprecedentedloss of biodiversity-rich forest. In south-eastern Myanmar, where land tenure is highly contesteddue to several decades of conflict, scientific evidence on these complex social-ecological pro-cesses is lacking. In the absence of past satellite data, we applied a participatory mappingapproach and co-produced annual land use information with local land users between 1990and 2017 for two case study landscapes. Results show that both landscapes have undergonea land use regime shift from small-scale farmers’shifting cultivation to plantations of rubber, betelnut, cashew, and oil palm. These changes are likely to have long-term impacts on land users’livelihoods and the environment. We call for a reconsideration of land governance arrangementsand concerted land use planning that respects the rights of local land users and strengthens theirrole as environmental stewards. Applied with careful facilitation, participatory mapping could bean important tool to engage communities in the highly challenging process of transforming landgovernance to achieve more sustainable outcomes in this post-conflict context

    Computerized FDTD Method for Longitudinal Optical Phonon Energy on Semiconductor Hybrid Structure for High Power Devices Fabrication

    The research problem in this study is the longitudinal optical phonon energy on metal/semiconductor interface for high performance semiconductor device. The research solution is to make the software model with finite difference time domain (FDTD) solution for transmission and reflection pulse between metal and semiconductor interface for carrier dynamics effects. The objective of this study is to find the quantum mechanics understanding on interface engineering for fabricating the high performance device for future semiconductor technology development. The analysis was carried out with the help of MATLAB. The quantum mechanical spatial field on metal-semiconductor stripe structure has been analyzed by FDTD techniques. This emission reveals a characteristic polar radiation distribution of electric dipoles and a wavelength independent of the structure size or the direction of emission; consequently, it is attributed to thermally generate electric dipoles resonating with the longitudinal optical phonon energy. Phonon energy occurs lattice vibration of material by the polarization of light, if the material has rigid structure reflect back the incident light. So, high reflective metal-semiconductor structure always use as photodectors devices in optical fiber communication. No lattice vibration material structure has no phonon effect, so this structure based devices can get high performance any other structure based devices. The transmission and reflection coefficient of metal-semiconductor GaN/Au layer structure compare with GaN/Ti and GaN/Pt structure. Parallel (P) and transverse (S) polarization of light incident on a metal-semiconductor nanolayer structure with IR wavelength. Efficient use of the layer by layer (LbL) method to fabricate nanofilms requires meeting certain conditions and limitations that were revealed in the course of research on model systems

    Vision-Based Mobile Robot Self-localization and Mapping System for Indoor Environment

    Localizing accurately and building map of an environment concurrently is a key factor of a mobile robot system. In this system, the robot makes localization and mapping with artificial landmarks and map-based system. It is a process by which a mobile robot can build a map of an environment while continuously determining the location of the robot within the map. The system estimates the robot position in indoor environments using sensors; a camera, three ultrasonic sensors and encoders. The main contribution of this paper is to reduce computational time and improve mapping with map-based system. The self-localization of mobile robot in an indoor environment is advanced through the construction of map based on sensors and recognition of artificial landmarks. Vision based localization system can benefit from using with ultrasonic sensors. From captured images, the system makes landmark detection by using Canny edge detection and Chain-code Approximation algorithms to represent the contour of landmarks by using edge points. The Kalman filter is aimed to accurately estimate position and orientation of the robot using relative distances to walls or artificial landmarks in environments. A robotic system is capable of mapping in an indoor environment and localizing with respect to the map, in real time, using artificial landmarks and sensors

    Presence of Burkholderia pseudomallei in the 'Granary of Myanmar'.

    Melioidosis is a frequently fatal infectious disease caused by the Gram negative bacillus Burkholderia pseudomallei. Although it was originally discovered in Myanmar, the disease disappeared from sight for many decades. This study focuses on detection of B. pseudomallei in soil in selected sampling sites in an attempt to start to fill the gaps in the current status of our knowledge of the geographical distribution of B. pseudomallei in soil in Myanmar. This cross-sectional study consists of 400 soil samples from 10 selected study townships from two major paddy growing regions. Bacterial isolation was done using a simplified method for the isolation of Burkholderia pseudomallei from soil. In this study, only 1% (4/400) of soil samples were found to be positive; two of four were found at 90 cm depth and another two positive samples were found at 30 cm and 60 cm. This survey has confirmed the presence of environmental B. pseudomallei in Myanmar indicating that the conditions are in place for melioidosis acquisition

    Sustainable Development Under Competing Claims on Land: Three Pathways Between Land-Use Changes, Ecosystem Services and Human Well-Being

    Competition over land is at the core of many sustainable development challenges in Myanmar: villagers, companies, governments, ethnic minority groups, civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations from local to the international level claim access to and decision-making power over the use of land. Therefore, this article investigates the actor interactions influencing land-use changes and their impacts on the supply of ecosystem services and human well-being. We utilise a transdisciplinary mixed-methods approach and the analytical lens of the social-ecological systems framework. Results reveal that the links between land-use changes, ecosystem services and human well-being are multifaceted; For example ecosystem services can decline, while human well-being increases. We explain this finding through three different pathways to impact (changes in the resource systems, the governance systems or the broader social, economic and political context). We conclude with implications of these results for future sustainable land governance
