    Development of Teaching Materials Algebraic Equation to Improve Problem Solving

    Problem-solving skills are the basic capabilities of a person in solving a problem and that involve critical thinking, logical, and systematic. To solve a problem one-way necessary measures to solve the problem. Polya is one way to solve a mathematical problem. by developing teaching materials designed using the steps in solving problems Polya expected students could improve its ability to solve problems. In this first year, the goal of this study is to investigate the process of learning the hypothetical development of teaching materials. This study is a research & development. Procedure development research refers to research the development of Thiagarajan, Semmel & Semmel ie 4-D. Model development in the first year is define, design, and development. The collection of data for the assessment of teaching materials algebra equations conducted by the expert by filling the validation sheet. Having examined the materials of algebraic equations in the subject of numerical methods, reviewing the curriculum that is aligned with KKNI, and formulates learning outcomes that formed the conceptual teaching material on the material algebraic equations. From the results of expert assessment team found that the average ratings of teaching materials in general algebraic equation of 4.38 with a very good category. The limited test needs to be done to see effectiveness teaching materials on problem-solving skills in students who are taking courses numerical method

    In capital budgeting processes, there are some crucial problem related to infation and the criteria in making the decision. Among the two discounting methods, analysts may use NPV or IRR. If NPV is used in making capital investment decision, some still doubt that project having zero NPV is still a good project. In this paper we try to explore how important infation factor to be considered in capital badgeting. The fnancial professional literatures dealing with investment decisions, state in general that the net present value shows objective picture for the decision maker. The net present value shows the amount of wealth growth that have been accumulated by the investment during the life time of the project, but the investment’s internal rate of return informs the decision maker that how works the real yield of long capital investment. The NPV method is theoritically superior to the IRR method in dealing with mutually exclusive project. The Project having zero NPV is considered to be proftable. In general terms, a sound capital investment will earn its original investment and cover the cost of capital invested. In the countres with high rate of infation, the efect on capital investment can be dramatic, so that cash fow adjustment is very critical

    Recovery Among People with Mental Illness (PMI) as Perceived by the Caregivers in Islamic Boarding School (IBS) in Indonesia

    Background: Mental hospitals as places to rehabilitation people with mental illness(PMI) in Indonesia are limited in numbers and do not meet with the number of PMI.The society may contribute in facilitating recovery and rehabilitation place for PMI including Islamic boarding school. Some Islamic boarding schools provide rehabilitation for PMI to help with recovery process. Recovery is an important aspect to assess the success of PMI rehabilitation. Nevertheless, there has been no study on Islamic boarding school\u27s caregivers\u27 perception on PMI recovery.Purpose: This study aims to explore recovery perception of caregivers treating PMI in Islamic boarding school and factors affecting recovery.Methods: Data are acquired from 19 caregivers from three Islamic boarding schools providing rehabilitation for PMI with Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data analyzed using descriptive analysis.Result: Having a good communication is a recovery criterion that is mentioned themost by caregivers. There are three biggest factors affecting recovery based on the caregivers such as prayers or religion followed by social support from family and environment and also doing activities.Conclusion: The results may depict the PMI recovery so that the health care providers can provide interventions that can support the recovery process in PMI

One problem-solving model is solving the problem of Polya: (1) understand the problem, (2) create a troubleshooting plan, (3) implement plans troubleshooting, and (4) step check the answers. During this time problem-solving skills possessed by students are not satisfactory because the student in solving problems not yet using the steps systematically. So, we need a way to improve students' ability to solve problems, such as by way of providing guidance in solving a problem

    The research purpose is to increase the students activities and geography learning result by using video visual media of learning, The method of this research is quasi experiments. The subjects of this research are the students of social grade, State Senior High School SMAN 1 Kedondong. Object of research is video visual media to increase activites and result study. Data collection techniques using tests and documentation. Research use T test to analysis data. The mean value of posttest of learning result of geography in the experimental class is higher than the control class, The method used in this study is a quasi experiment (Quasi Eksperimen), it is known that the experimental learning exhaustive = 86.84% greater than the learning control class mastery = 57.5%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan hasil belajar geografi siswa melalui penggunakan media pembelajaran video visual, Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Subyek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas X IPS SMAN 1 Kedondong. Objek penelitian adalah media video visual untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan hasil belajar siswa, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan dokumentasi. Analisi data menggunakan Uji T. Nilai rerata pretest hasil belajar geografi antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol tidak berbeda, Nilai rerata posttest hasil belajar geografi pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol, Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini eksperimen semu (Quasi Eksperimen). diketahui bahwa ketuntasan belajar kelas eksperimen = 86,84 % lebih besar dari ketuntasan belajar kelas kontrol = 57,5 %

    Hubungan Antara Metakognisi Dengan Kreativitas Pada Mahasiswa Yang Sedang Mengerjakan Tugas Akhir Di Jurusan Arsitektur Universitas Diponegoro

    Mahasiswa jurusan arsitektur merupakan cikal bakal pendorong perkembangan industri kreatif pada bidang arsitektur. Dalam pengerjaan tugas akhir, mahasiswa arsitektur dituntut untuk memiliki kreativitas yang tinggi agar dapat menghasilkan rancangan dan desain yang inovatif. Untuk meningkatkan kreativitas seseorang, dibutuhkan metakognisi yang tinggi agar dapat mengatur dan merencanakan strategi yang akan digunakan dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara metakognisi dengan kreativitas pada mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir di Jurusan Arsitektur Universitas Diponegoro. Populasi penelitian adalah 69 mahasiswa Jurusan Arsitektur Fakultas Teknik Uniersitas Diponegoro yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir. Pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan simple random sampling. Subjek uji coba berjumlah 32 orang dengan jumlah aitem skala metakognisi sebanyak 48 aitem. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 37 orang yang dipilih secara acak. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian adalah skala metakognisi (33 aitem valid, α = 0,911) dan Tes Kreativitas Figural (α = 0,989). Data yang diperoleh berdasarkan perhitungan statistik non-parametrik dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi Kendall menunjukkan besarnya hubungan antara metakognisi dengan kreativitas melalui τ = -0,112 dengan p = 0,338 (p > 0,05). Artinya, terdapat hubungan negatif yang tidak signifikan pada mahasiswa yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir di Jurusan Arsitektur Universitas Diponegoro

    Analisis Emisi So2 Hasil Pembakaran Batubara pada Pltu Jeneponto

    Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap berbahan bakar batubara menghasilkan emisi dari hasil pembakaran batubaranya, salah satunya adalah SOx. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui besaran emisi SO2 yang dihasilkan dari hasil pembakaran batubara. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengamatan langsung pada Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS). Data-data yang diperlukan adalah nilai emisi SO2 yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran batubara pada unit 1 dan unit 2 PLTU Jeneponto. Dan hasil penelitian selama 3 (tiga) bulan diketahui besaran emisi SO2 maksimum yang dihasilkan adalah 372,28 mg/m3. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa emisi SO2 yang dihasilkan layak dari segi lingkungan karena emisi SO2 yang dihasilkan tidak melewati baku mutu emisi SO2 yang ditetapkan dalam PERMEN NEGARA LH no. 21 TAHUN 2008 untuk kegiatan PLTU Batubara yaitu sebesar 750 mg/Nm3
