Spatial boundary problem with the Dirichlet-Neumann condition for a singular elliptic equation
The present work devoted to the finding explicit solution of a boundary
problem with the Dirichlet-Neumann condition for elliptic equation with
singular coefficients in a quarter of ball. For this aim the method of Green's
function have been used. Since, found Green's function contains a
hypergeometric function of Appell, we had to deal with decomposition formulas,
formulas of differentiation and some adjacent relations for this hypergeometric

Cryptanalysis of an MPEG-Video Encryption Scheme Based on Secret Huffman Tables
This paper studies the security of a recently-proposed MPEG-video encryption
scheme based on secret Huffman tables. Our cryptanalysis shows that: 1) the key
space of the encryption scheme is not sufficiently large against
divide-and-conquer (DAC) attack and known-plaintext attack; 2) it is possible
to decrypt a cipher-video with a partially-known key, thus dramatically
reducing the complexity of the DAC brute-force attack in some cases; 3) its
security against the chosen-plaintext attack is very weak. Some experimental
results are included to support the cryptanalytic results with a brief discuss

Three-dimensional flux states as a model for the pseudogap phase of transition metal oxides
We propose that the pseudogap state observed in the transition metal oxides
can be explained by a three-dimensional flux state, which exhibits
spontaneously generated currents in its ground state due to electron-electron
correlations. We compare the energy of the flux state to other classes of mean
field states, and find that it is stabilized over a wide range of and
. The signature of the state will be peaks in the neutron diffraction
spectra, the location and intensity of which are presented. The dependence of
the pseudogap in the optical conductivity is calculated based on the parameters

Higher Order Effects in the Dielectric Constant of Percolative Metal-Insulator Systems above the Critical Point
The dielectric constant of a conductor-insulator mixture shows a pronounced
maximum above the critical volume concentration. Further experimental evidence
is presented as well as a theoretical consideration based on a phenomenological
equation. Explicit expressions are given for the position of the maximum in
terms of scaling parameters and the (complex) conductances of the conductor and
insulator. In order to fit some of the data, a volume fraction dependent
expression for the conductivity of the more highly conductive component is

Added Value of Computed Tomography Virtual Intravascular Endoscopy in the Evaluation of Coronary Arteries with Stents or Plaques
Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a widely used imaging modality for diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD) but is limited by a high false positive rate when evaluating coronary arteries with stents and heavy calcifications. Virtual intravascular endoscopy (VIE) images generated from CCTA can be used to qualitatively assess the vascular lumen and might be helpful for overcoming this challenge. In this study, one hundred subjects with coronary stents underwent both CCTA and invasive coronary angiography (ICA). A total of 902 vessel segments were analyzed using CCTA and VIE. The vessel segments were first analyzed on CCTA alone. Then, using VIE, the segments were classified qualitatively as either negative or positive for in-stent restenosis (ISR) or CAD. These results were compared, using ICA as the reference, to determine the added diagnostic value of VIE. Of the 902 analyzed vessel segments, CCTA/VIE had sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value (shown in %) of 93.9/90.2, 96.2/98.2, 96.0/97.7, 70.0/83.1, and 99.4/99.0, respectively, in diagnosing ISR or CAD, with significantly improved specificity (p = 0.025), accuracy (p = 0.046), and positive predictive value (p = 0.047). Hubbard model versus t-J model: The one-particle spectrum
The origin of the apparent discrepancies between the one-particle spectra of
the Hubbard and t-J models is revealed: Wavefunction corrections, in addition
to the three-site terms, should supplement the bare t-J. In this way a
quantitative agreement between the two models is obtained, even for the
intermediate- values appropriate for the high-Tc cuprate superconductors.
Numerical results for clusters of up to 20 sites are presented. The momentum
dependence of the observed intensities in the photoemission spectra of

Novel cis-regulatory function in ICR-mediated imprinted repression of H19
Expression of coregulated imprinted genes, H19 and Igf2, is monoallelic and parent-of-origin-dependent. Like most imprinted genes, H19 and Igf2 are regulated by a differentially methylated imprinting control region (ICR). CTCF binding sites and DNA methylation at the ICR have previously been identified as key cis-acting elements required for proper H19/Igf2 imprinting. Here, we use mouse models to elucidate further the mechanism of ICR-mediated gene regulation. We specifically address the question of whether sequences outside of CTCF sites at the ICR are required for paternal H19 repression. To this end, we generated two types of mutant ICRs in the mouse: (i) deletion of intervening sequence between CTCF sites (H19ICR-IVS), which changes size and CpG content at the ICR; and (ii) CpG depletion outside of CTCF sites (H19ICR-8nrCG), which only changes CpG content at the ICR. Individually, both mutant alleles (H19ICR-IVS and H19ICR-8nrCG) show loss of imprinted repression of paternal H19. Interestingly, this loss of repression does not coincide with a detectable change in methylation at the H19 ICR or promoter. Thus, neither intact CTCF sites nor hypermethylation at the ICR is sufficient for maintaining the fully repressed state of the paternal H19 allele. Our findings demonstrate, for the first time in vivo, that sequence outside of CTCF sites at the ICR is required in cis for ICR-mediated imprinted repression at the H19/Igf2 locus. In addition, these results strongly implicate a novel role of ICR size and CpG density in paternal H19 repression
Correlates of accelerometry non-adherence in an economically disadvantaged minority urban adult population
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine socio-demographic and psychosocial correlates of non-adherence to an accelerometry protocol in an economically disadvantaged urban population. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: We analyzed 985 New York City adult participants aged 18–81 years from the Physical Activity and Redesigned Community Spaces (PARCS) study. Participants were asked to wear a hip-worn ActiGraph GT3X-BT accelerometer for one week. Adherent accelerometer wear was defined as ≥3 days of ≥8 h/day of wear over a 7-day period and non-adherent accelerometry wear was defined as any wear less than adherent wear from returned accelerometers. Examined correlates of adherence included sociodemographic and psychosocial characteristics (e.g., general physical/mental health-related quality of life, self-efficacy for exercise, stress, sense of community/neighborhood well-being, and social cohesion). Results: From the total sample, 636 (64.6%) participants provided adherent wear and 349 (35.4%) provided non-adherent wear. In multivariable analysis, younger age (odds ratio [OR] = 0.63, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.53–0.75), poorer health-related quality of life (OR = 0.80, 95% CI: 0.65–0.98 for physical health and OR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.62–0.94 for mental health), lower sense of community (OR = 0.79, 95% CI: 0.62–1.00) and current smoking status (OR = 1.97, 95% CI: 1.35–2.86) were associated with non-adherent wear. Conclusions: Non-adherent wear was associated with younger age, smoking, and lower self-reported physical/mental functioning and sense of community. This information can inform targeted adherence strategies to improve physical activity and sedentary behavior estimates from accelerometry data in future studies involving an urban minority population
