Mentors Support Grandfamilies Raising Grandchildren
The role of mentors to provide support to Grandfamilies and their grandchildren is examined in this paper. How youth benefit when they are matched with mentors serving as their external advocates, assisting them and seeking resources for their success in school and life is discussed. Grandfamilies who wish to find mentors for youth need to know what resources are available and how to access them. These resources are also reviewed. In addition. non-profit agencies who design programs to serve Grandfamilies need to follow quality assurance standards. Tips are suggested to make this happen
Relative systoles of relative-essential 2-complexes
We prove a systolic inequality for the phi-relative 1-systole of a
phi-essential 2-complex, where phi is a homomorphism from the fundamental group
of the complex, to a finitely presented group G. Indeed we show that
universally for any phi-essential Riemannian 2-complex, and any G, the area of
X is bounded below by 1/8 of sys(X,phi)^2. Combining our results with a method
of Larry Guth, we obtain new quantitative results for certain 3-manifolds: in
particular for Sigma the Poincare homology sphere, we have sys(Sigma)^3 < 24
vol(Sigma).Comment: 20 pages, to appear in Algebraic and Geometric Topolog

Development of dispersion strengthened nickel-chromium alloy (Ni-Cr-ThO2) sheet for space shuttle vehicles, part 2
Two dispersion strengthened nickel base alloy systems were developed for use at temperatures up to 1204 C(2200 F); TD nickel chromium (TDNiCr) and TD nickel chromium aluminum (TDNiCrA1). They are considered candidate materials for use on the thermal protection systems of the space shuttle and for long term use in aircraft gas turbine engine applications. Improved manufacturing processes were developed for the fabrication of TDNiCr sheet and foil to specifications. Sheet rolling process studies and extrusion studies were made on two aluminum containing alloys: Ni-16%Cr-3.5%A1-2%ThO2 and Ni-16%Cr-5.0%A12%ThO2. Over 1600 kg.(3500 lb.) of plate, sheet, foil, bar and extrusion products were supplied to NASA Centers for technology studies
Are slump folds reliable indicators of downslope flow in recent mass transport deposits?
RW was supported by the Israel Science Foundation (ISF grant No. 868/17) and the Israeli government GSI DS project 40706. We thank Iyad Swaed for the drone photography and Nadav Lensky for fruitful discussion during the course of this study. We also thank Cees Passchier for efficient editorial handling and John Waldron and Lorna Strachan for constructive and detailed reviews that improved the paper.Peer reviewedPostprin
