Local Wisdom within Gatotkaca Character
In the agenda Nawa Cita president Joko Widodo, character education becomes the main issue. The expected character education aims to equip Indonesian children able to adapt to the global environment. Character education is also a family and community task. Characters that are superior, independent, firm, firm, can be learned through the character of wayang. Gatotkaca's son Bimasena is the central figure of the Ramayana Mahabharata wayang. The virtues taught through the Gatotkaca character “The Muscle Knight of Iron Bone Wire”, a local wisdom that is still very worthy of being taught to the younger generation today. Tulisan ini adalah bedah buku berjudul Reading Images: The Grammar of Visual Design, karya Gunther Kress dan Theo van Leeuwen, terbit pertama kali pada tahun 1996. Untuk memudahkan pemahaman, dipakai sejumlah contoh sign system pada Universitas Trisakti, kampus A. Aturan (grammar) desain visual memainkan peran penting, sebagai bagian dari proses menghasilkan makna. Kress-Leeuwen berusaha menyediakan tata cara dalam membaca tanda-tanda yang menjadi kesepakatan (convention) di bidang semiotika visual. Tujuan buku ini adalah untuk menganalisa bagaimana semiotika dipakai untuk menghasilkan makna dan mengkaji citra masa kini (contemporary). Buku ini sangat sistematis dan komprehensif terhadap tata bahasa desain visual. Mencermati elemen-elemen formal dan struktur desain seperti warna, perspektif, bingkai dan komposisi, penulis menjelaskan cara-cara bagaimana makna berkomunikasi melalui citra. Krustasea Arafura sebagai Ide Penciptaan Batik
ABSTRAKPotensi sumber daya alam perikanan saat ini terus digali, namun mengubah potensi sumber daya alam menjadi penciptaan kreasi batik masih sangat terbatas. Tujuan tulisan ini adalah menghasilkan eksperimentasi berdasarkan sumber ide krustasea Arafura yang dikembangkan menjadi desain busana batik. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah deskriptif-eksperimentatif, memakai model 4-D Thiagarajan (1974) yaitu (1) Definisi; (2) Desain; (3) Pengembangan; dan (4) Diseminasi. Dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi potensi lokal Arafura, seleksi, merumuskan ide-ide, eksperimentasi, hingga penciptaan desain. Hasil dari eksperimen ini adalah purwarupa busana batik berdasarkan ide krustasea yang melimpah di Arafura. Kesimpulan berupa potensi ekonomi kreatif bersumber ide lokal sumber daya alam laut Arafura, dapat menambah nilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah terus menggali potensi-potensi alam lainnya yang terkait dengan sumber daya alam kelautan untuk diubah menjadi produk ekonomi kreatif.ABSTRACTThe potential of fisheries resources has been explored continuously, but transforming the resources into creative idea of batik creation is still limited. This study aims to conduct experiment based on Arafura crustaceans, as an idea for batik fashion designs. The method used is descriptive-experimental method, using Thiagarajan 4D model (1974), namely (1) Definition; (2) Design, (3) Development; and (4) Dissemination. The study was started by identifying the local potential of Arafura, selection, formulating ideas, experiments, and creating the design. The result of this experiment is a prototype of batik clothes using design based on the idea of crustacean which is abundant in Arafura. The conclusion from this experiment is creative economic potential comes from local ideas of crustacean Arafura natural resources. The recommendation is to continue the exploration of other marine natural potentials resources as ideas for creative economic products
Hairy Root Induction on Justicia gendarussa by Various Density of Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain LB 510
Gandarusa (Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.) is an Indonesian medicinal plant that has many benefits as drug and male contracetive. For industrial needs, Gandarusa must be available in large quantity. Hairy root culture is one of methode to produce phytochemistry compound. The objective of the study was to examine the effect of various density of Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain LB510 on hairy roots induction of gandarusa (Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.) leaf plant. Leaf explants were inoculated in MS liquid medium with various density of OD 600 = 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; and 0.5. Explants were co-cultivated for 2 days on MS solid medium without any hormone then sub-cultured on MS solid medium containing antibiotic cefotaxim 300 ppm, in dark
condition. The data were analyzed descriptively and statistically. The results showed that various density of
Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain LB510 was affected the lenght of hairy roots induction of J. gendarussa Burm.f.,
but these was not effected toward lenght formation time and number of hairy root. The treatment of OD 600 0.2 was
the best treatment for hairy root induction on Justicia gendarussa Burm. f. This data could be used for optimized the quality of methode of hairy root induction

Budaya Visual pada Website Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Universitas Trisakti
Abstrak
Keberadaan website Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Universitas Trisakti, penting untuk diteliti karena merupakan cermin dari budaya visual institusi yang menampilkannya. Website dapat diakses dengan berbagai perangkat pendukung seperti komputer, laptop, tablet, dan smartphone, baik kondisi pengguna (users) dalam kondisi statik maupun bergerak, serta dalam waktu yang tidak terbatas jam kerja. Metode penelitian tulisan ini adalah deskriptif-kualitatif dengan menggunakan kajian budaya. Kajian budaya dalam tulisan ini mengkaji situs website di institusi Fakutas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Universitas Trisakti dan memberikan gambaran bentuk-bentuk pengetahuan dan perilaku yang diasosiasikan dengan aktifitas sosial atau situs sosial di institusi tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah gambaran ide, visi misi, perilaku, serta cita-cita yang hendak dibangun oleh website Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Universitas Trisakti, yang dapat membangun citra positif bagi masyarakat luas.

Abstract
The existence of the Faculty of Art and Design, Trisakti University, website essential to research because it is a reflection of the institution's visual culture that features it. The website accessible through various devices, such as a computer, a laptop, tablet, smartphone when users at static or mobile state, and within unlimited working hours. This research using descriptive - qualitative with the cultural study approach. The cultural study on this research analyzes the Faculty of Art and Design, Trisakti University, website and providing the picture of knowledge forms and attitudes which associate with social activity and social site in the institution. The result of this research is idea picture, vision, mission, attitude, and the goal that wishes to build by the Faculty of Art and Design, Trisakti University website that can develop a positive image to the larger society.
