    Research on Large-scale Energy Storage of Chinese Power System Based on Demand Analysis

    With the construction and development of a low carbon and environmental protection society, China is promoting the construction of a clean, low carbon, safe and efficient energy supply system, the most critical of which is to promote the rapid construction of new energy installed capacity. However, with the continuous expansion of the new energy installed capacity, the random volatility of the power supply has become an important factor that puzzles the power balance of the current power system, not only formed a larger peak pressure, but also became one of the important factors restricting the development of new energy. At the same time, the new energy power electronic equipment has weak supporting characteristics, which also makes the proportion of new energy power system continues to increase, and has a high impact on security. In this context, this paper carries out a demand analysis, firstly discussing the demand for large-scale energy storage in the development of new energy for power system, and secondly analyzing the demand for large-scale energy storage in the safe operation of large power grid, so as to promote the construction of GW-level electrochemical energy storage power station and effectively deal with the power imbalance and safety problems

    BP-NUCA: Cache Pressure-Aware Migration for High-Performance Caching in CMPs

    As the momentum behind Chip Multi-Processors (CMPs) continues to grow, Last Level Cache (LLC) management becomes a crucial issue to CMPs because off-chip accesses often involve a big latency. Private cache design is distinguished by smaller local access latency, good performance isolation and easy scalability, thus is becoming an attractive design alternative for LLC of CMPs. This paper proposes Balanced Private Non-Uniform Cache Architecture (BP-NUCA), a new LLC architecture that starts from private cache design for smaller local access latency and good performance isolation, then introduces a low cost mechanism to dynamically migrate private blocks among peer private caches of LLC to improve the overall space utilization. BP-NUCA achieves this by measuring the cache access pressure level that each cache set experiences at runtime and then using the information to guide block migration among different private caches of LLC. A heavily accessed set, namely a set with high access pressure level, is allowed to migrate its evicted blocks to peer private caches, replacing blocks of sets which are with the same index and have low access pressure level. By migrating blocks from heavily accessed cache sets to less accessed cache sets, BP-NUCA effectively balances space utilization of LLC among different cores. Experimental results using a full system CMP simulator show that BP-NUCA improves the overall throughput by as much as 20.3 %, 12.4 %, 14.5 % and 18.0 % (on average 7.7 %, 4.4 %, 4.0 % and 6.1 %) over private cache, shared cache, shared cache management scheme UCP and private cache organization CC respectively on a 4-core CMP for SPEC CPU2006 benchmarks

    BAG Family Gene and Its Relationship with Lung Adenocarcinoma Susceptibility

    Background and objective BAG genes (Bcl-2-associated athanogene) belong to a recently discovered multifunctional anti-apoptosis gene family that regulate various physiological processes which include apoptosis, tumorigenesis, neural differentiation, stress response and cell cycle and so on. The expression status of BAG family genes are related to certain tumor incidence and prognosis. The aim of this study is to explore the association of the BAG family gene expression status with the susceptibility of lung adenocarcinoma. Methods The gene expression data of BAG family genes from 29 cases of lung adenocarcinoma tissues and matched pericancerous lung tissess were generated by microarray chips. Cox regression was used to analyze the association between the expression of BAG family genes and the susceptibility of lung adenocarcinoma and the results were verified by GEO database. Results The expression levels of BAG-1, BAG-2, BAG-5 in cancer tissues were significantly downregulated compared with matched pericancerous lung tissues and were protective factors of lung adenocarcinoma (P < 0.05, OR < 1); while the expression level of BAG-4 in cancer tissues were remankably upregulated compared with the matched pericancerous lung tissues and was risk factor of lung adenocarcinoma (P < 0.05, OR > 1). Conclusion BAG-1, BAG-2, BAG-5 might be the potential protective factors while BAG-4 is possible risk factor of lung adenocarcinoma

    Bubble-Wall Plot: A New Tool for Data Visualization

    This research aimed to design a new tool for data visualization with performed features - named Bubble-Wall Plot and assumed that it could be an effective tool for developing data visualization systems. This research reviewed seven data visualization approaches for identifying the outliers, including Line Charts, Parallel Coordinates Plot, Scatter Plots, TreeMap, Glyphs, Pixel-based techniques, and Redial visualizations. The challenges for current data visualization approaches were also summarized. Two principles were addressed to design the new tool- keep it simple strategy with the smallest strategy. As a result, the newly designed Bubble-Wall Plot has successfully been adopted to develop a warning system for identifying the outliers in a Case Study company, which was deployed for user acceptance testing in May 2021. The main contribution is that this newly designed tool with the simplest style was well-designed and proven to effectively develop a warning visualization system

    Bilateral Fronto-Parietal Integrity in Young Chronic Cigarette Smokers: A Diffusion Tensor Imaging Study

    Cigarette smoking continues to be the leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality in China and other countries. Previous studies have demonstrated gray matter loss in chronic smokers. However, only a few studies assessed the changes of white matter integrity in this group. Based on those previous reports of alterations in white matter integrity in smokers, the aim of this study was to examine the alteration of white matter integrity in a large, well-matched sample of chronic smokers and non-smokers.Using in vivo diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to measure the differences of whole-brain white matter integrity between 44 chronic smoking subjects (mean age, 28.0±5.6 years) and 44 healthy age- and sex-matched comparison non-smoking volunteers (mean age, 26.3±5.8 years). DTI was performed on a 3-Tesla Siemens scanner (Allegra; Siemens Medical System). The data revealed that smokers had higher fractional anisotropy (FA) than healthy non-smokers in almost symmetrically bilateral fronto-parietal tracts consisting of a major white matter pathway, the superior longitudinal fasciculus (SLF).We found the almost symmetrically bilateral fronto-parietal whiter matter changes in a relatively large sample of chronic smokers. These findings support the hypothesis that chronic cigarette smoking involves alterations of bilateral fronto-parietal connectivity

    Aroma Quality Evaluation of High-Quality and Quality-Deficient Black Tea by Electronic Nose Coupled with Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry

    According to the results of sensory evaluation performed by experts, 14 black tea samples were divided into two groups based on their aroma quality: high-quality and quality-deficient black tea. Using fast gas chromatography-electronic-nose (GC-E-Nose) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) combined with multivariate statistical analysis, discriminant analysis of the two groups were carried out, and the key differential components between these groups were selected. The results showed that 117-dimensional dataset was obtained by the fusion of the GC-E-Nose (44-dimensional) and GC-MS (73-dimensional) data and used to establish a model for accurate classification of the two types of black tea employing orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA). The model’s explanatory and predictive capacity (R2Y = 0.976, Q2 = 0.959) were better than those of the model established based on the GC-E-Nose or GC-MS data. Based on variable important in projection (VIP) scores > 1.6 and P < 0.05, eight key aroma components including dimethyl sulfide (B3 and B25), β-ionone (A59), (3E)-4,8-dimethylnon-1,3,7-triene (A20), dihydroactinidiolide (A64), linalool (A17), phenylethyl alcohol (A19), δ-octyl lactone (A41) and γ-nonalatone (A45) were selected, which played an important role in the classification. These results showed that GC-E-Nose combined with GC-MS allows rapid and accurate discrimination between quality-deficient and high-quality black tea, which can be used as a supplement to traditional sensory evaluation, providing technical support for quality control and improvement of black tea

    CIRBP is a novel oncogene in human bladder cancer inducing expression of HIF-1 alpha

    Cold-inducible RNA binding protein (CIRBP) has been reported to be associated with distinct tumorigenesis. In this study, we investigated the role of CIRBP in human bladder cancer (BCa), indicating that CIRBP is overexpressed in BCa tissues and cell lines to promote proliferation and migration. Moreover, CIRBP could induce expression of HIF-1 alpha via binding to the 3'-UTR of its mRNA to increase the mRNA stability in BCa cells. Furthermore, we demonstrated that PTGIS is a HIF-1 alpha targeted gene, a major regulator in hypoxic cancer progression by activating transcription of various oncogenes. Our results also suggested that overexpression of HIF-1 alpha may suppress the expression of PTGIS in BCa cells, by binding to HRE sequence at the promoter region of PTGIS. In addition, we found a strongly downregulation of PTGIS in BCa tissue and transcriptionally inhibited by HIF-1 alpha in BCa cells, which could be triggered by its DNA methylation. Further result suggested that knockdown of CIRBP could promote the expression of PTGIS, meanwhile knockdown of PTGIS could partially rescue CIRBP-deficiency induced inhibition of migration and proliferation in BCa cells. Taken together, our study indicated that CIRBP could be a novel oncogene in human bladder cancer inducing transcription of HIF-1 alpha, which could inhibit expression of methylated PTGIS
