The Information that is provided by Advertisements<Article>
When using advertising to make a sales promotion, using famous faces is the most convenient way to get the purpose. On the contrary, nonsense or humorous expressions in advertisements sometimes make no sense. Surely, famous faces can make the sales increasing quickly. But in the long run, especially, to build the brand image, it may not work well. In this paper, I compared these 2 types of advertisement to make a further consideration about how to make an effective advertising strategy
Speech Dereverberation Based on Integrated Deep and Ensemble Learning Algorithm
Reverberation, which is generally caused by sound reflections from walls,
ceilings, and floors, can result in severe performance degradation of acoustic
applications. Due to a complicated combination of attenuation and time-delay
effects, the reverberation property is difficult to characterize, and it
remains a challenging task to effectively retrieve the anechoic speech signals
from reverberation ones. In the present study, we proposed a novel integrated
deep and ensemble learning algorithm (IDEA) for speech dereverberation. The
IDEA consists of offline and online phases. In the offline phase, we train
multiple dereverberation models, each aiming to precisely dereverb speech
signals in a particular acoustic environment; then a unified fusion function is
estimated that aims to integrate the information of multiple dereverberation
models. In the online phase, an input utterance is first processed by each of
the dereverberation models. The outputs of all models are integrated
accordingly to generate the final anechoic signal. We evaluated the IDEA on
designed acoustic environments, including both matched and mismatched
conditions of the training and testing data. Experimental results confirm that
the proposed IDEA outperforms single deep-neural-network-based dereverberation
model with the same model architecture and training data
A Novel Contact Resistance Model of Anisotropic Conductive Film for FPD Packaging
In this research, a novel contact resistance model for the flat panel display
(FPD) packaging based on the within layer parallel and between layers series
resistance concepts was proposed. The FJ2530 anisotropic conductive films (ACF)
by Sony Inc. containing the currently smallest 3micron conductive particles was
used to conduct the experiments to verify the accuracy of the proposed model.
Calculated resistance of the chip-on-glass (COG) packaging by the proposed
model is 0.163\Omega. It is found that the gold bump with 0.162\Omega
resistance play the major role of the overall resistance. Although the
predicted resistance by the proposed model is only one third of the
experimentally measured value, it has been three-fold improvement compared to
the existing models.Comment: Submitted on behalf of TIMA Editions

Scaling laws for non-Hermitian skin effect with long-range couplings
Recent years have witnessed a surge of research on the non-Hermitian skin
effect (NHSE) in one-dimensional lattices with finite-range couplings. In this
work, we show that the long-range couplings that decay as at
distance can fundamentally modify the behavior of NHSE and the scaling of
quantum entanglement in the presence of nonreciprocity. At , the
nonlocality of couplings gives rise to the scale-free skin modes, whose
localization length is proportional to the system size. Increasing the exponent
drives a complex-to-real spectral transition and a crossover from a
scale-free to constant localization length. Furthermore, the scaling of
nonequilibrium steady-state entanglement entropy exhibits a subextensive law
due to the nonlocality and the complex spectrum, in contrast to an area law
arising from NHSE. Our results provide a theoretical understanding on the
interplay between long-range couplings and non-Hermiticity.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure
6-Mercaptopurine attenuates tumor necrosis factor-α production in microglia through Nur77-mediated transrepression and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling-mediated translational regulation
Physical interaction between Nur77 and p65. BV-2 cells were pretreated with 6-MP (50 μM) for 16 h followed by exposure to LPS (100 ng/ml) for 60 min. Nuclear extracts were harvested for immunoprecipitation (IP) experiments using anti-Nur77 and anti-p65 antibodies. Immunoblot (IB) analyses of the immunoprecipitates were performed using these antibodies. The immunoblots are representative of three independent experiments. (TIF 280 kb

GPER-induced signaling is essential for the survival of breast cancer stem cells.
G protein-coupled estrogen receptor-1 (GPER), a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily, mediates estrogen-induced proliferation of normal and malignant breast epithelial cells. However, its role in breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) remains unclear. Here we showed greater expression of GPER in BCSCs than non-BCSCs of three patient-derived xenografts of ER- /PR+ breast cancers. GPER silencing reduced stemness features of BCSCs as reflected by reduced mammosphere forming capacity in vitro, and tumor growth in vivo with decreased BCSC populations. Comparative phosphoproteomics revealed greater GPER-mediated PKA/BAD signaling in BCSCs. Activation of GPER by its ligands, including tamoxifen (TMX), induced phosphorylation of PKA and BAD-Ser118 to sustain BCSC characteristics. Transfection with a dominant-negative mutant BAD (Ser118Ala) led to reduced cell survival. Taken together, GPER and its downstream signaling play a key role in maintaining the stemness of BCSCs, suggesting that GPER is a potential therapeutic target for eradicating BCSCs
Cross-Layer Optimization for Efficient Delivery of Scalable Video over WiMAX
Abstract. Video delivery application over wireless network has become increasingly important in recent years. For achieving more flexible video streams transmission, the scalable extension of the H.264/AVC standard has been developed, as well as which is combined with temporal, spatial and quality scalabilities to adapt efficiently the wireless bandwidth resource. In this paper, a cross-layer optimization for robust H.264 scalable video delivery over WiMAX network is proposed. In order to obtain a better delivery performance, the proposed method is used the hierarchical B-picture approach to classify video packets into different priorities. In the cross-layer optimization, the scalable video and packet classifier are proposed at the application layer, and the packet priority and queue allocation are used at the MAC layer. Finally, it is shown by NS2 simulations that the proposed method provides more stable wireless bandwidth and also achieves a better quality of the video streaming delivery
