Overviews of Investigation on Submersible Pressure Hulls
With the exploration of natural resources and the research on oceanography in the deep sea obtained more and more attention, in the recent years, the pressure hull of the submersibles has been widely studied and used in many states. In order to the continuing design and assessment on it effectively, the paper summarizes the design method, the structural feature and the material selection of this object
Encoding a qubit with Majorana modes in superconducting circuits
Majorana fermions are long-sought exotic particles that are their own
antiparticles. Here we propose to utilize superconducting circuits to construct
two superconducting-qubit arrays where Majorana modes can occur. A so-called
Majorana qubit is encoded by using the unpaired Majorana modes, which emerge at
the left and right ends of the chain in the Majorana-fermion representation. We
also show this Majorana qubit in the spin representation and its advantage,
over a single superconducting qubit, regarding quantum coherence. Moreover, we
propose to use four superconducting qubits as the smallest system to
demonstrate the braiding of Majorana modes and show how the states before and
after braiding Majoranas can be discriminated.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures; an enlarged version of arXiv: 1108.3712v
Constipation-relieving effect of L-arabinose
Purpose: To investigate the mitigating effect of L-arabinose on constipation in a mouse model of experimental constipation. Methods: Kunming mice were used as experimental animals to establish a constipation model. Intestinal propulsion, first defecation time, number of defecation pellets, and the weight of defecation pellets in 5 h were measured. L-Arabinose was given at 3 dose levels, viz, low dose (0.5 g/kg/day),medium dose (0.75 g/kg/day), and high dose (2.5 g/kg/day), and their effects on constipation were compared with that of the model control group. Results: Compared with the model control group, there were significant differences in ink propulsion (F= 22.67, p < 0.05); time taken for first black stool to appear (F = 19.51, p < 0.05), number of fecal pellets (F = 12.22, p < 0.05), and fecal weight (F = 5, p < 0.05) in the L-arabinose groups. Conclusion: L-Arabinose relieves constipation symptoms in an experimental mouse model of constipation. Therefore, L-arabinose may be useful in the management of patients with constipation, but further studies in humans are required to ascertain this.

Control of free induction decay with quantum state preparation in a weakly coupled multi-spin system
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has been a widely used tool in various
scientific fields and practical applications, with quantum control emerging as
a promising strategy for synergistic advancements. In this paper, we propose a
novel approach that combines NMR and quantum state preparation techniques to
control free induction decay (FID) signals in weakly coupled spin systems,
specifically Trifluoroiodoethylene . We investigate the FID signal of
the three-spin system and compare the differences between the FID signals in
the thermal state and the pseudo-pure state (PPS), where the latter is
generated using quantum state preparation techniques. Our approach aims to
demonstrate a single exponentially decaying FID in weakly coupled spins, in
which oscillatory FID signals are often observed. We validate our findings
through numerical simulations and experimental measurements, and justify the
validity of the theory. Our method opens a door to advancing spin system
research and extending the capabilities of NMR with current quantum
technologies in various scientific and practical fields.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures. Comments are welcom
