A methodological study and forecasting of room occupancy trend in Las Vegas
The purpose of this research is to develop a systematic methodology for occupancy forecasting and to obtain the future occupancy trend for the Las Vegas hotel/motel industry; A systematic analytical model is developed for generic hotel/motel occupancy forecasting; The analytical model includes log-linear regression models and other extrapolation forecasting models for model parameter estimation and optimization; The model is applied to Las Vegas and the U.S. lodging occupancy data from 1973 through 1990 and is used to forecast Las Vegas and the U.S. room occupancies from 1991 through 1993
THE AFFECTION OF POSTURE IN SKY TO THE JUMP REACH HEIGHT
The purpose of this study is to understand in which degree the posture will affect the JRH (Jump Reach Height), and also to look for a posture in which he/she will get the maximum JRH. The jump performances of a male student with height 1.75m after release from the ground were simulated on computer. JRH of the hand were calculated when the subject made fourteen different postures in sky. It was shown that different posture has affection to JRH. The difference between the maximum and the minimum JRH is about 23 cm, which is about 7% of the largest JRH. In the extent of posture affection, the Lower Extremity seems to be much more important than the Upper Extremity

However, the traditional centralized processing approach may face threats in terms of data leakage and trust. The use of distributed, tamper-proof blockchain technology can improve the decentralized storage and security of data in the ITS network. However, the cross-trust domain devices, terminals, and transportation agencies in the heterogeneous blockchain network of the ITS still face great challenges in trusted data communication and interoperability. In this article, we propose a heterogeneous cross-chain interaction mechanism based on relay nodes and identity encryption to solve the problem of data cross-domain interaction between devices and agencies in the ITS. First, we propose the ITS cross-chain communication framework and improve the cross-chain interaction model. The relay nodes are interconnected through libP2P to form a relay node chain, which is used for cross-chain information verification and transmission. Secondly, we propose a relay node secure access scheme based on identity-based encryption to provide reliable identity authentication for relay nodes. Finally, we build a standard cross-chain communication protocol and cross-chain transaction lifecycle for this mechanism. We use Hyperledger Fabric and FISCO BCOS blockchain to design and implement this solution, and verify the feasibility of this cross-chain interaction mechanism. The experimental results show that the mechanism can achieve a stable data cross-chain read throughput of 2,000 transactions per second, which can meet the requirements of secure and efficient cross-chain communication and interaction among heterogeneous blockchains in the ITS, and has high application value.publishersversionpublishe

The effects of timbre on neural responses to musical emotion
Timbre is an important factor that affects the perception of emotion in music. To date, little is known about the effects of timbre on neural responses to musical emotion. To address this issue, we used ERPs to investigate whether there are different neural responses to musical emotion when the same melodies are presented in different timbres. With a cross-modal affective priming paradigm, target faces were primed by affectively congruent or incongruent melodies without lyrics presented in violin, flute, and the voice. Results showed a larger P3 and a larger left anterior distributed LPC in response to affectively incongruent versus congruent trials in the voice version. For the flute version, however, only the LPC effect was found, which was distributed over centro-parietal electrodes. Unlike the voice and flute versions, an N400 effect was observed in the violin version. These findings revealed different patterns of neural responses to emotional processing of music when the same melodies were presented in different timbres, and provide evidence to confirm the hypothesis that there are specialized neural responses to the human voice
