There are few breeding records or reports on Cinereous Vulture Aegypius monachus in China. The species is vulnerable to mortality from poisoning and collision, such as during migration seasons and in wintering areas (Kenny et al. 2008). From 2016 to 2017, we investigated and reported for the first time on the breeding ecology of the vultures in the central Tianshan Mountains (MaMing et al. 2017). In addition to observing behaviour in the nest, we also tracked several young birds after they left the nest, from the end of July to October. Although young birds are relatively easy to observe during their stay in the nest (Reading et al. 2010), it is difficult to understand their fate after leaving the nest. In the Central Asia, only about 25 - 30 % of the sub-adult birds survive, and sometimes the success rate of reproduction is very low (Batbayar 2004, Reading et al. 2010, MaMing et al. 2017)

Data and Knowledge Co-driving for Cancer Subtype Classification on Multi-Scale Histopathological Slides

Artificial intelligence-enabled histopathological data analysis has become a valuable assistant to the pathologist. However, existing models lack representation and inference abilities compared with those of pathologists, especially in cancer subtype diagnosis, which is unconvincing in clinical practice. For instance, pathologists typically observe the lesions of a slide from global to local, and then can give a diagnosis based on their knowledge and experience. In this paper, we propose a Data and Knowledge Co-driving (D&K) model to replicate the process of cancer subtype classification on a histopathological slide like a pathologist. Specifically, in the data-driven module, the bagging mechanism in ensemble learning is leveraged to integrate the histological features from various bags extracted by the embedding representation unit. Furthermore, a knowledge-driven module is established based on the Gestalt principle in psychology to build the three-dimensional (3D) expert knowledge space and map histological features into this space for metric. Then, the diagnosis can be made according to the Euclidean distance between them. Extensive experimental results on both public and in-house datasets demonstrate that the D&K model has a high performance and credible results compared with the state-of-the-art methods for diagnosing histopathological subtypes. Impact of various heat treatment processes and welding speeds on the mechanical properties and microstructures of soft/hard composite joints

There is a certain contradiction between the formability and strength of auto parts. In this work, the whole-process processing technology of hot stamping soft steel was designed, and 500 MPa grade mild steel (500HS) with uniform microstructure was prepared. To take into account the strength and formability of hot stamping soft steel, here, based on laser welding technology, 500 MPa grade soft steel, and 1500 MPa grade hard steel are benignly composited, and by adjusting the laser welding speed and heat treatment process, the loss of mechanical properties caused by the weld seam is eliminated. A soft/hard composite steel for automobiles with excellent strength, ductility and formability is obtained. To maintain excellent deformation resistance and bonding force of the weld, the heat-affected zone of 500HS retains part of bainite and pearlite, which is beneficial to the strain compatibility and stress partitioning with the microstructure of the base metal, and the hardness is low. After heat treatment, which helps to transfer the stress concentration effect to the 500HS base metal with strong energy absorption capacity, so that the clad steel has excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. This process is developed based on existing industrialized equipment and has broad application prospects

Rapid and Sensitive Recombinase Polymerase Amplification Combined With Lateral Flow Strip for Detecting African Swine Fever Virus

African swine fever virus (ASFV), the etiological agent of African swine fever (ASF), a hemorrhagic fever of domestic pigs, has devastating consequences for the pig farming industry. More than 1,000,000 pigs have been slaughtered since 3 August 2018 in China. However, vaccines or drugs for ASF have yet to be developed. As such, a rapid test that can accurately detect ASFV on-site is important to the timely implementation of control measures. In this study, we developed a rapid test that combines recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) of the ASFV p72 gene with lateral flow detection (LFD). Results showed that the sensitivity of recombinase polymerase amplification with lateral flow dipstick (RPA-LFD) for ASFV was 150 copies per reaction within 10 min at 38°C. The assay was highly specific to ASFV and had no cross-reactions with other porcine viruses, including classical swine fever virus (CSFV). A total of 145 field samples were examined using our method, and the agreement of the positive rate between RPA-LFD (10/145) and real-time PCR (10/145) was 100%. Overall, RPA-LFD provides a novel alternative for the simple, sensitive, and specific identification of ASFV and showed potential for on-site ASFV detection

Bi2O2Se, a high-mobility and air-stable 2D material, has attracted substantial attention for application in integrated logic electronics and optoelectronics. However, achieving an overall high performance over a wide spectral range for Bi2O2Se-based devices remains a challenge. A broadband phototransistor with high photoresponsivity (R) is reported that comprises high-quality large-area (≈180 µm) Bi2O2Se nanosheets synthesized via a modified chemical vapor deposition method with a face-down configuration. The device covers the ultraviolet (UV), visible (Vis), and near-infrared (NIR) wavelength ranges (360–1800 nm) at room temperature, exhibiting a maximum R of 108 696 A W−1 at 360 nm. Upon illumination at 405 nm, the external quantum efficiency, R, and detectivity (D*) of the device reach up to 1.5 × 107%, 50055 A W−1, and 8.2 × 1012 Jones, respectively, which is attributable to a combination of the photogating, photovoltaic, and photothermal effects. The devices reach a −3 dB bandwidth of 5.4 kHz, accounting for a fast rise time (τrise) of 32 µs. The high sensitivity, fast response time, and environmental stability achieved simultaneously in these 2D Bi2O2Se phototransistors are promising for high-quality UV and IR imaging applications
