The rare processes BcD(s)J()μμˉB_c\to D_{(s)J} ^{(*)}\mu\bar{\mu}, where D(s)J()D_{(s)J}^{(*)} stands for the final meson Ds0(2317)D_{s0}^*(2317), Ds1(2460,2536)D_{s1}(2460,2536),~Ds2(2573)D_{s2}^*(2573), D0(2400)D_0^*(2400), D1(2420,2430)D_{1}(2420,2430) or~D2(2460)D_{2}^*(2460), are studied within the Standard Model. The hadronic matrix elements are evaluated in the Bethe-Salpeter approach and furthermore a discussion on the gauge-invariant condition of the annihilation hadronic currents is presented. Considering the penguin, box, annihilation, color-favored cascade and color-suppressed cascade contributions, the observables dBr/dQ2\text{d}Br/\text{d}Q^2, ALPLA_{LPL}, AFBA_{FB} and PLP_L are calculated

Two-Body Strong Decay of Z(3930) as the χc2(2P)\chi_{c2} (2P) State

The new particle Z(3930) found by the Belle and BaBar Collaborations through the γγDDˉ\gamma\gamma\rightarrow D\bar D process is identified to be the χc2(2P)\chi_{c2}(2P) state. Since the mass of this particle is above the DDˉ()D\bar D^{(\ast)} threshold, the OZI-allowed two-body strong decays are the main decay modes. In this paper, these strong decay modes are studied with two methods. One is the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter method within Mandelstam formalism. The other is the combination of the 3P0^3P_0 model and the former formalism. The total decay widths are 26.3 and 27.3 MeV for the methods with or without the 3P0^3P_0 vertex, respectively. The ratio of ΓDDˉ\Gamma_{D\bar D} over ΓDDˉ\Gamma_{D\bar D^\ast} which changes along with the mass of the initial meson is also presented.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figure

Background: Aim: To update the incidence of vaginal cuff related complications after different modes of hysterectomy and their management. Methods: The study was conducted in Jingzhou central hospital, Jingzhou, Hubei, China. Patient’s case files were reviewed who had undergone Hysterectomy from 1st Jan. 2013 - 31st Dec. 2014. The incidence of vaginal cuff related complications were retrospectively evaluated by different approaches. Data were collected according to our inclusion criteria and statistically analyzed its significance (P <0.05).Results: 887 patients underwent hysterectomy during 2 years of study period. Mean age was 54 ± 4 years. Overall incidence of vaginal cuff related complications were 34 (3.83%) which included vaginal cuff bleeding 12 (1.35%), vaginal cuff infections 16 (1.80%) and vaginal cuff dehiscence 6 (0.67%) without evisceration. Laparoscopic hysterectomy had higher incidence (6.12%), than open abdominal (2.56%) and vaginal (3.22%) hysterectomy. Incidences were significant (P = 0.032) to approaches of hysterectomy. The Incidence of vaginal cuff dehiscence between Laparoscopic and Open abdominal hysterectomy were significant (P = 0.015) but the incidence of vaginal cuff bleeding (P = 0.90) and vaginal cuff infection (P = 0.74) were not significant. Over all incidences were higher in malignancy (61%) than benign (20%).Conclusions: Study suggests that vaginal cuff bleeding, cuff infection, cuff dehiscence and evisceration are rare but not negligible which may lead into catastrophic conditions. Early diagnosis and appropriate management reduces further complications. Partial cuff dehiscence can be managed conservatively without surgical repair with satisfactory outcome

COURSE-KEEPING CONTROL FOR DIRECTIONALLY UNSTABLE LARGE TANKERS USING THE MIRROR-MAPPING TECHNIQUE

    Get PDF
This study examines the course-keeping control of directionally unstable large oil tankers involving a pole in the right half plane. Treated as an unstable plant in control engineering, tankers are theoretically and experimentally investigated during the controller design process. First, the unstable plant is mirror-mapped to its corresponding stable minimum phase plant using the mirror-mapping technique, which enables an easy controller design. Then, a linear proportional-differential and a first-order filter controller is designed based on the closed-loop gain shaping algorithm, which requires only one controller parameter to be properly selected based on the system’s characteristics. Numerical simulation results confirmed that the designed controller can successfully stabilise an unstable plant subjected to external wind and wave disturbances. The controller designed with the proposed method is suitable for course-keeping control of directionally unstable large tankers. The controller design method is simple with an uncomplicated structure that can easily be implemented in engineering endeavours. Moreover, the rudder motion is small and soft

Incidence and recurrence of acute otitis media in Taiwan's pediatric population

OBJECTIVE: To report the incidence and recurrence of acute otitis media (AOM) in Taiwan's pediatric population. METHODS: Information from children (aged <= 12 years) with a diagnosis of AOM was retrieved from the 2006 National Healthcare Insurance claims database. We calculated the cumulative incidence rate and the incidence density rate of recurrent AOM within one year after the initial diagnosis in 2006. We used a multivariate logistic regression model to assess the predictors for recurrence of AOM. RESULTS: The annual incidence rate of AOM was estimated to be 64.5 cases per 1,000 children. The overall one-year cumulative incidence rate of recurrence was 33.1%, and the incidence density rate was 33.5 cases per 100 personyears, with the highest figure (41.2 cases per 100 person-years) noted for children aged 0-2 years. Recurrence was significantly associated with age, gender, place of treatment, and physician specialty. CONCLUSION: AOM remains a major threat to children's health in Taiwan. Male children and very young children require more aggressive preventive strategies to reduce the risk of recurrence
