    Application of clustering in managing unstructured textual data in relational database / Wael Mohamed Shaher Yafooz

    Huge reliance on computer usage in everyday life, leads to a continuous increase of large data applications in textual forms. The data are reposited to a secondary storage for future usage. Therefore, a relational database (RDB) is most commonly used as a backbone in most application software for organising such data into structured form. The RDB has robust and powerful structures for managing, organising, and retrieving the data. However, the database structure can still contain large amounts of unstructured textual data. Dealing with unstructured textual data leads to three basic issues; users encounter difficulties to find useful information, inaccurate information retrieval and insufficient performance of query processing. Attempts have been made to resolve all of these issues by using several methods such as: full text searching, text indexing, a database schema management, database data model, and query-based techniques. However, the front-end approach, in the form of software applications, are still needed to organise the unstructured textual information in the RDB. This study proposes a Textual Virtual Schema Model (TVSM) as the back-end approach to reorganising textual data inside relational databases, while performing automatic semantic linking and clustering assignments

    Study of Non-Equilibrium Electron Dynamics in Metals

    Thermal phenomena, such as heat propagation, lattice melting, and ablation, are the result of energy deposition in metals. A fundamental understanding of the electron dynamics leading to these thermal phenomena would benefit many laser applications, such as laser deposition of thin films and laser processing. In this work, thin metal films were prepared using the resistive heating evaporation technique. High dynamic range autocorrelators were constructed to characterize the different laser systems used in this study. The nonequilibrium electron dynamics in single layer gold films, multi-layer gold-vanadium, and gold-titanium films were studied. The time evolution of the electron temperature was monitored using femtosecond time-resolved thermoreflectivity (ΔR/R) measurements. The validity of the Two-Temperature Model (TTM) in describing ultrafast laser heating processes was checked. The effect of the padding layer on the surface damage threshold was investigated. The experimental results revealed a reduction of the thermoreflectivity signal, ΔRmax, for the multi-layer film that signifies a reduction in the surface electron temperature. Multi-shot damage experiments, in contrast to the thermoreflectivity measurements and the results of Qiu et al., showed no evidence of surface damage in the case of the gold sample, whereas the multi-layer sample experienced an onset of surface damage at the same experimental conditions. The suitability of the Two-Temperature Model (TTM) in describing the transport and relaxation dynamics of hot electrons accurately was verified. A new methodology for the correction of the TTM to account for the internal thermalization of the electron gas and convolution effects was achieved

    Nigella sativa oil is antioxidant compound has the effect that serves to prevent cellular damage. The effect of Nigella sativa oil in the motility and total count of spermatozoa wistar rats. Experimental research with the design of post test only control group design. Wistar rats consists of 24 head and divided into 4 groups consist of control and treatment group. The control group was distilled. The first treatment was of Nigella sativa oil everydays as much with dose 150 mg/kgbw, 250 mg/kgbw, and 350 mg/kgbw, for 16 days, . Statistic test for motility and count of sperm wistar rats use the Kruskal-Wallis followed by Mann Whitney test. Avarage value of motility in the control (21.67±9.832) its lower than treatment. In dose 350 mg/kgbw its highest (52.33±13.292) compare in the treatment 250 mg/kgbw (40.67±17.512) and 150 mg/kgbw (30.67±8.165). avarage value of count sperm in the control (130.83±41.877) its lower than treatments. In dose 350 mg/kgbw its highest (199.67±23.480) compare in the treatment 250 mg/kgbw (187.50±74.538) and 150 mg/kgbw (140.83±32.568).     Improving the starting torque and overall efficiency of split single phase induction motor

    Single-phase split induction motors consist of an auxiliary coil, a main winding and a centrifugal switch that separates the auxiliary coil. The starting torque of this motor is not large, and a resistance has to be added with the additional coil to increase the starting torque. Also, a mechanical centrifugal switch is used to disconnect the auxiliary coil. The motor also has another drawback that it has a constant speed. The aim of this research is to replace the added resistance with a current transformer that has a predetermined resistance and connected in series with the auxiliary coil such that it results in a maximum starting torque. In addition, it sends a signal to a control circuit that disconnect/connect the auxiliary coil through an electronic switch connected in series with the auxiliary coil. The connection/disconnection of the switch depends on the motor current not the motor speed to overcome the problem of switch false triggering due to motor overloading. The new technique increases the overall efficiency of the motor. MATLAB is used to simulate the system and verify the mathematical model

    Low-Cost Active Monitoring of Attendance using Passive RFID Technology

    In this paper, a smart attendance system for students attending schools is proposed. The proposed attendance system is based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to facilitate automation and convenience. The proposed RFID Attendance System (RFID-AS) should be used by school administration to ensure safety for students as well as using it for grading and evaluation purposes. After careful study, passive RFID technology is selected to be used by the proposed system for its reasonable cost. The main components of the system are an RFID tag, an RFID reader, Visual Studio (XAF Tool), and SQL Server to compare the data from the RFID tag with the students’ database to record attendance automatically. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) is developed using Visual Studio (XAF Tool) to allow parents and school faculty to log in and browse the students’ records. Students will pass the classroom door, which will have an integrated RFID reader device to read their RFID. The paper discusses the design of the solution as well as the testing scenarios
