Full carbon accounting: mission impossible?
Quantifying mitigation efforts against a large background variability is a demanding task, in which scientific complexity and manageable, transparent accounting systems have difficulty to meet. Can we bring these together
Gender differences in respiratory symptoms in 19-year-old adults born preterm

Methods: Design: Prospective cohort study. Setting: Nation wide follow-up study, the Netherlands. Participants: 690 adults (19 year old) born with a gestational age below 32 completed weeks and/or with a birth weight less than 1500g. Controls were Dutch participants of the European Community Respiratory Health Survey (ECRHS). Main outcome measures: Presence of wheeze, shortness of breath, asthma, hay fever and eczema using the ECRHS-questionnaire
Veiligheid onder de loep. Diergeneesmiddelresiduen in voedingsmiddelen van dierlijke oorsprong
Safety scrutinised. Residues of veterinary medicines in foodstuff from animal origin. The use of veterinary medicinal products in food producing animals may give rise to residues in tissues and/or products destined for human consumption. To ensure consumer safety, an assessment of the safety of residues is carried out. This assessment results in the establishment of Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for food commodities. Based on the experience gained, the European regulatory authorities are now prepared to accept identical MRLs in different species. Further changes in the risk assessment process are anticipated. At the national level, veterinary drug residue monitoring programs are executed. No public health risks have been identified in The Netherlands
