Inverse Beta Decay in a Nonequilibrium Antineutrino Flux from a Nuclear Reactor
The evolution of the reactor antineutrino spectrum toward equilibrium above
the inverse beta-decay threshold during the reactor operating period and the
decay of residual antineutrino radiation after reactor shutdown are considered.
It is found that, under certain conditions, these processes can play a
significant role in experiments seeking neutrino oscillations.Comment: 8 pages including 5 ps figure
Comment on "Interaction Effects in Conductivity of Si Inversion Layers at Intermediate Temperatures"
We show that the comparison between theory and experiment, performed by
Pudalov et al. in PRL 91, 126403 (2003), is not valid.Comment: comment on PRL 91, 126403 (2003) by Pudalov et a
Neutrino Oscillations at Reactors: What Next?
We shortly review past and future experiments at reactors aimed at searches
for neutrino masses and mixing. We also consider new idea to search at
Krasnoyarsk for small mixing angle oscillations in the atmosheric neutrino mass
parameter region.Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX 2.09, 6 Postscript figures. Talk given at

Magnetoresistance of a two-dimensional electron gas in a parallel magnetic field
The conductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas in a parallel magnetic
field is calculated. We take into account the magnetic field induced
spin-splitting, which changes the density of states, the Fermi momentum and the
screening behavior of the electron gas. For impurity scattering we predict a
positive magnetoresistance for low electron density and a negative
magnetoresistance for high electron density. The theory is in qualitative
agreement with recent experimental results found for Si inversion layers and Si
quantum wells.Comment: 4 pages, figures included, PDF onl
On Search for New Physics in Nonequilibrium Reactor Antineutrino Energy Spectrum
The calculations of the time-dependent reactor antineutrino energy spectrum
are presented. Some problems associated with sensitive searches for neutrino
magnetic moment and neutrino oscillations in reactor antineutrino flux are
considered.Comment: 4 pages in pdf file with figures. Talk presented at International

Possible Metal/Insulator Transition at B=0 in Two Dimensions
We have studied the zero magnetic field resistivity of unique high- mobility
two-dimensional electron system in silicon. At very low electron density (but
higher than some sample-dependent critical value,
cm), CONVENTIONAL WEAK LOCALIZATION IS OVERPOWERED BY A SHARP DROP OF
RESISTIVITY BY AN ORDER OF MAGNITUDE with decreasing temperature below 1--2 K.
No further evidence for electron localization is seen down to at least 20 mK.
For , the sample is insulating. The resistivity is empirically
found to SCALE WITH TEMPERATURE BOTH BELOW AND ABOVE WITH A SINGLE
PARAMETER which approaches zero at suggesting a metal/ insulator
phase transition.Comment: 10 pages; REVTeX v3.0; 3 POSTSCRIPT figures available upon request;

Development of the Educational Process in Physical Education in University: Integrated Approach
The article applies an integrated approach to the analysis of the implementation of working curricula in the educational process in physical culture at the Ural University of Architecture and Art. The following research methods were applied: analysis of the working curricula of the discipline of physical culture, the method of classification in the form of tables and included observation. As a result of the study, it was revealed that working curricula for practical classes and a theoretical course effectively complement each other and contribute to the development of the educational process in the discipline of physical culture at the university
Initial Results from the CHOOZ Long Baseline Reactor Neutrino Oscillation Experiment
Initial results are presented from CHOOZ, a long-baseline reactor-neutrino
vacuum-oscillation experiment. Electron antineutrinos were detected by a liquid
scintillation calorimeter located at a distance of about 1 km. The detector was
constructed in a tunnel protected from cosmic rays by a 300 MWE rock
overburden. This massive shielding strongly reduced potentially troublesome
backgrounds due to cosmic-ray muons, leading to a background rate of about one
event per day, more than an order of magnitude smaller than the observed
neutrino signal. From the statistical agreement between detected and expected
neutrino event rates, we find (at 90% confidence level) no evidence for
neutrino oscillations in the electron antineutrino disappearance mode for the
parameter region given approximately by deltam**2 > 0.9 10**(-3) eV**2 for
maximum mixing and (sin(2 theta)**2) > 0.18 for large deltam**2.Comment: 13 pages, Latex, submitted to Physics Letters
