Investigating the elements influencing the psychological issues of reform school students

    Get PDF
Reformatory students are those whose deviant behaviors and habits prevent them from receiving education under normal educational conditions. These students frequently lead a careless, undisciplined lifestyle, being unwilling to work and learn eager to play and demanding. Therefore, when they are admitted to reformatories with severe study and lifestyle requirements, they have great psychological difficulty adjusting to their new environment. Students’ psychological issues in adapting to reformatory learning and living regimes are difficult and psychological deficits make it challenging for students to adapt to reformatory learning and living conditions. In Vietnam, 665 students from reformatory schools were polled to determine the causes of psychological issues. According to the findings, a variety of elements contribute to students’ psychological difficulties. Individual student conditions such as health, awareness, attitudes and actions as well as inappropriate habits, living without goals or aspirations, etc. are on the subjective side of the equation. On the objective side are the students’ conditions, family, education and psychological obstacles brought on by less-than-ideal circumstances which will make it more difficult for community students to adapt. Both the new school and society must pay more attention to reformatory students in order to establish the conditions necessary for successful integration into the new school and ultimate readmission into society for these students

Impairment of Assets Under Perspectives of International and Vietnamese Accounting

    Get PDF
This study investigates the impairment of assets on financial reportings of three separate entities - Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank), The Bank of East Asia (BEA) and The Nestlé Group - in the financial year of 2017. By bringing out the differences between international accounting system of asset impairment (IAS 36) and Vietnamese accounting system (VAS), this research has determined the gap between two sets of financial statements under IFRS and VAS in conveying the business performance and financial position. The empirical results show Vietnam’s necessary for a convergence in asset impairment with international accounting system. Therefore, we provide some recommendations for Vietnam in applying asset impairment regarding to IAS 36 partly or completely. Using of response surface methodology for optimization of biohydrogen production by Clostridium sp. tr2 isolated in Vietnam

Biohydrogen is a clean, renewable, sustainable energy resource due to the highest energy density among all fuels and its combustion has no contribution to the environmental pollution and climate change. Biohydrogen production depends on a number of nutritional and environmental variables. The present paper is to determine the optimum condition for enhanced hydrogen production by a fermentative hydrogen-producing bacterium (designated as Clostridium sp. Tr2) isolated from buffalo-dung in Vietnam. The response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to determine the mutual effects of glucose, yeast extract and iron concentration on its hydrogen production in a batch condition. RSM analysis showed that the highest hydrogen production potential (Ps) was obtained under the condition of 10.18 g L-1 glucose, 2.5 g L-1 yeast extract and 58 mg L-1 FeSO4.7H2O. All three factors had significant influences on the Ps. Glucose and iron concentration, yeast extract and iron concentration were interdependent or there was a significant interaction on Ps. Glucose and yeast extract concentration was slightly interdependent, or their interactive effect on Ps was not significant. Under optimum conditions, the maximum H2 volume of 1080 ml (L medium)-1 were found after 22 h facultative anaerobic fermentation. The experiment results show that the RSM analysis with the central composite design was useful for optimizing the biohydrogen-producing process by newly isolated Clostridium sp. Tr2 in Vietnam

Quaero at TRECVID 2013: Semantic Indexing and Instance Search

International audienceThe Quaero group is a consortium of French and German organizations working on Multimedia Indexing and Retrieval1. LIG participated to the semantic indexing main task, localization task and concept pair task. LIG also participated to the organization of this task. This paper describes these participations which are quite similar to our previous year's participations. For the semantic indexing main task, our approach uses a six-stages processing pipelines for computing scores for the likelihood of a video shot to contain a target concept. These scores are then used for producing a ranked list of images or shots that are the most likely to contain the target concept. The pipeline is composed of the following steps: descriptor extraction, descriptor optimization, classiffication, fusion of descriptor variants, higher-level fusion, and re-ranking. We used a number of different descriptors and a hierarchical fusion strategy. We also used conceptual feedback by adding a vector of classiffication score to the pool of descriptors. The best Quaero run has a Mean Inferred Average Precision of 0.2848, which ranked us 2nd out of 26 participants. We also co-organized the TRECVid SIN 2013 task and collaborative annotation

Synthesis of Cu+^+/bipyridyl Based Complex Towards Dye Sensitized Solar Cell Application

    Get PDF
This study aims to synthesize the Cu+/bipyridyl-based complex using Sonogashira cross coupling. The structure of the ligand and the complex were investigated by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy; by single crystal X-ray diffraction and by UV-VIS absorption spectroscopy. The obtained experimental results were in good agreement with the theoretical calculations. The complex is a potential candidate to be the photo sensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells.

Depression, anxiety and stress among healthcare workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study in a tertiary hospital in Northern Vietnam

IntroductionThe outbreak of coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) had significant effects on the mental well-being in general, particularly for healthcare professionals. This study examined the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress, and identified the associated risk factors amongst healthcare workers during the COVID-19 outbreak in a tertiary hospital located in Vietnam.MethodsWe conducted a cross-sectional study at a tertiary-level hospital, where the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale 21 (DASS-21) web-based questionnaire was employed. We analyzed the determinant factors by employing multivariate logistic models.ResultsThe prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms were 19.2%, 24.7%, and 13.9%, respectively. Factors such as engaging in shift work during the pandemic, taking care of patients with COVID-19, and staff’s health status were associated with mental health issues among health professionals. In addition, having alternate rest periods was likely to reduce the risk of stress.ConclusionThe prevalence of mental health problems in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic was relatively high. Having resting periods could potentially mitigate the development of stress among health professionals. Our findings could be taken into account for improving mental health of the health professional population

Development of Spray Pyrolysis System for Deposition of Nano-structure Materials

    Get PDF
In this paper, we report the development of the spray pyrolysis technique for preparing different nano-structure materials toward the application in thin film solar cells. The spray pyrolysis system can heat up the substrate to 6000C with less than 0.01% full scale. The ramping rate can be set to 100C per minute. The effective coating area can be up to 100 x 100 mm2. Using this technique, the thickness and roughness of the films can be controlled. The obtained morphology, the microstructure of the thin-films, given by scanning electron microscope, X ray diffraction…showed that the system is suitable for deposition of different layers of the dye sensitized solar cell
