Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty Negotiations and Plans for Joint Economic Activity on the Southern Kuril Islands

The article analyzes the Russo-Japanese peace treaty negotiations in 2013-2019. Despite the rapprochement in the trade, economic, political and humanitarian spheres, the territorial dispute remains an obstacle, significantly complicating bilateral ties. There remain disagreements on the sovereignty over the southern Kuril Islands, on acceptable conditions for resolving a territorial dispute, as well as on the significance of the territorial dispute for the development of bilateral relations. The plans for the implementation of joint economic activities on the southern Kuril Islands are also analyzed. It is concluded that Russia and Japan need to continue to build upon the result of rapprochement initiated by the leaders of the countries and continue negotiations on the peace treaty that will upgrade their relations

Výzkumná zpráva z exit pollového šetření k volbám do Poslanecké sněmovny PČR 20. – 21. 10. 2017 v Brně a vybraných obcích Jihomoravského kraje

Dokument popisuje vybrané charakteristiky voličů v politických volbách do Poslanecké sněmovny v roce 2017. Závěry vycházejí z dat získaných metodou exit-pollového šetření, tedy dotazováním voličů opouštějících volební místnosti. Data obsahují údaje o několika tisících voličů z Brna, okresních měst a několika menších obcí v Jihomoravském kraji. Závěrem je tak popis voličů dle jejich demografických charakteristik a politických postojů, které zahrnují na osobu ideálního premiéra, na plnění volebních slibů, důležitá témata a faktory ovlivňující volební rozhodnutí. Součástí dokumentu je také srovnání rozdílu mezi voliči v Brně a v ostatních obcích kraje.Document describes several characteristics of voters in elections in to the Chamber of deputies 2017. Conclusions are based on data gathered by exit-poll survey. Data includes information about several thousands voters from Brno and other regional towns and villages in region South Moravia. Document provides description of sociodemographic characteristics of voters and their political attitudes including opinion on ideal prime minister, fulfillment of electoral pledges, most important issues and factors influencing voting decision. At the end the differences between regional city and other towns and villages are described

Using Periodic Systems to Model Hand-Haptic Interface Coupling

International audienceThe analysis of hand-haptic interface coupling as a whole system is an important question for the development of high quality haptic devices and their use in dynamical tasks where the haptic modality plays an important role. In this paper, we propose a periodic system, the Van der Pol equation, as a first approach for modeling hand-haptic interface coupling. In particular, we are interested in periodical gestures or tasks and the interaction models able to generate them. We analyze this system and we identify its parameters from the data position acquired during simulation. In this paper we present some preliminary results.The identification of this parameters should lead as to improve haptic systems performances

Long-term experience of vasomotor instability: A five-year follow-up study of perceived control, coping and distress

Objectives: Vasomotor instability can be a long-term feature of the post-menopause yet little is known about how women cope. This study followed up a group of women over five years, to examine whether current levels of flush-related distress/discomfort were associated with past and present control beliefs, catastrophic thoughts and coping strategies. A further aim was to validate two measures developed in previous research against conceptually relevant standardised scales
