Tradução e adaptação transcultural da Composite Abuse Scale para o português brasileiro

OBJETIVO: Realizar a tradução e adaptação transcultural do inglês para o português brasileiro da Composite Abuse Scale, instrumento que identifica e quantifica a violência por parceiro íntimo. MÉTODOS: Este estudo baseia-se na execução rigorosa de seu protocolo, previamente publicado, e que consiste em dez etapas: (a) análise conceitual; (b) tradução duplo-cega; (c) comparação e primeira versão reconciliada das duas traduções; (d) retrotradução; (e) revisão da retrotradução feita pela desenvolvedora e segunda versão reconciliada; (f) revisão por comitê de especialistas (n = 6); (g) comparação das revisões por especialistas e terceira versão reconciliada; (h) entrevistas cognitivas com mulheres da Casa da Mulher Brasileira de Curitiba (n = 15); (i) avaliações das percepções das usuárias e reconciliação final; e (j) apresentação da versão final do questionário à desenvolvedora. RESULTADOS: A execução das 10 etapas do protocolo permitiu as equivalências idiomática, semântica, conceitual e experiencial da Composite Abuse Scale, incorporando sugestões e críticas dos diferentes participantes do processo, que incluíram desde a desenvolvedora, tradutores profissionais, pesquisadores especializados no tema, mulheres em situação de violência por parceiro íntimo e profissionais que as atendem. Especialistas e entrevistas cognitivas com mulheres foram fundamentais para garantir equivalências e facilitar a compreensão, incluindo: (1) adaptação do termo “relacionamento íntimo” para “relacionamento afetivo ou conjugal”; (2) substituição de ênclises por próclises em 20 itens; (3) adoção de linguagem de gênero neutro, permitindo sua utilização em relacionamentos hetero, bi e homoafetivos; (4) materialização de um instrumento de rigor científico e autoaplicável, que pode auxiliar as mulheres a visibilizarem as situações de abuso em seus relacionamentos. CONCLUSÕES: O processo de tradução e adaptação transcultural da Composite Abuse Scale resultou na Composite Abuse Scale Versão Português brasileiro, instrumento autoaplicável com 30 itens, capaz de identificar e quantificar a violência por parceiro íntimo, sua frequência, severidade e tipologias (violências física, emocional, assédio e grave combinada).OBJECTIVE: To perform the translation and cross-cultural adaptation from English into Brazilian Portuguese of the Composite Abuse Scale, an instrument that identifies and quantifies intimate partner violence. METHODS: This study is based on the strict implementation of its previously published protocol, which consists of ten steps: (a) conceptual analysis; (b) double-blind translation; (c) comparison and first reconciled version of the two translations; (d) back-translation; (e) review of the back-translation by the developer and second reconciled version; (f) expert committee review (n = 6); (g) comparison of expert reviews and third reconciled version; (h) cognitive interviews with women from the Casa da Mulher Brasileira in Curitiba (n = 15); (i) assessments of user perceptions and final reconciliation; and (j) submission of the final version of the questionnaire to the developer. RESULTS: The implementation of the 10 steps of the protocol allowed the idiomatic, semantic, conceptual and experiential equivalences of the Composite Abuse Scale, incorporating suggestions and criticisms from the different participants of the process. Participants included the developer, professional translators, researchers specialized on the subject, women in situation of intimate partner violence, and professionals who provide care to them. Experts and cognitive interviews with women were instrumental in ensuring equivalence, and facilitating the understanding, including: (1) adaptation of the term “intimate relation” to “affective or conjugal relation”; (2) substitution of enclisis for proclisis cases in 20 items; (3) adoption of gender-neutral language, allowing its use in heterosexual, bisexual, and same-sex relations; (4) materialization of an instrument of scientific rigor and self-applicable, which may help women to visualize the situations of abuse in their relations. CONCLUSIONS: The translation and cross-cultural adaptation process of the Composite Abuse Scale resulted in the Composite Abuse Scale Brazilian Portuguese Version, a 30-item self-applicable instrument, capable to identify and quantify intimate partner violence, its frequency, severity and typologies (physical, emotional, harassment and severe combined violence)

Retórica e deliberação : análise de comentários sobre a criminalização da LGBTfobia no Brasil

Defesa : Curitiba, 30/06/2021Inclui referências: p. 111-117Resumo: Esta dissertação teve como objetivo principal investigar a interface entre a teoria retórica e a teoria deliberativa por meio da análise do debate sobre a criminalização da LGBTfobia e sua repercussão em comentários postados em vídeos sobre o tema no YouTube. Para isso, foi desenvolvido um livro de códigos fundamentado em preceitos retóricos e na forma como eles foram explorados por teóricos da deliberação. Esse livro de códigos foi utilizado para guiar uma análise de conteúdo centrada em uma amostra de 3046 comentários extraída de 10 vídeos sobre LGBTfobia. Os objetivos secundários incluíram: a) identificar a formação de vínculos e a conciliação entre debatedores online; b) identificar e compreender tipos de elementos retóricos vinculados à emoção utilizados em conversações online; e c) explorar a centralidade da figura do orador em conversações online. No lado contrário à criminalização da LGBTfobia, constatamos uma retórica altamente dependente da antagonização do STF e da religiosidade como elementos de geração de vínculo entre comentaristas; do lado favorável, foram mais notórios a retórica pautada na defesa da liberdade de existência e o compartilhamento de casos de LGBTfobia, operacionalizado pelo uso de narrativas pessoais. A centralidade do orador foi relacionada ao formato de vlog, apontando para um possível esvaziamento do debate nos comentários em favor do protagonismo do youtuber.Abstract: The main goal of this dissertation was to investigate the interface between the theory of rhetoric and the deliberative theory by analyzing the debate surrounding the criminalization of LGBTphobia in Brazil and its repercussions in comments posted on videos about this topic on YouTube. This was performed by developing a codebook based on rhetorical principles and how they have been explored be deliberation theorists. This codebook guided a content analysis of a sample of 3046 comments extracted from 10 videos on LGBTphobia. The secondary goals were as follows: a) Identifying how bonding and bridging occurs between online debaters; b) Identifying and comprehending the types of emotion-based rhetorical elements used in online conversations; and c) Exploring how central is the role of the orator in online conversations. On the side of the debate that is against the criminalization of LGBTphobia, we found a rhetoric that relies heavily on antagonizing the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court and the use of religion as a way of bonding commentators; on the side that is for the criminalization, the most notable findings were the defense of the freedom to exist and the sharing of personal narratives from people who suffered LGBTphobia. The role of the orator was connected to the vlog format and pointed towards the hollowing of the debate in the comment sections in favor of the youtuber's protagonism

“Ganhar as coisas na maciota”: argumentation and rhetoric in online conversations about racial quotas in universities

Este artigo apresenta uma reflexão sobre a discussão acerca da política de cotas raciais no Brasil. Com o objetivo de verificar de que forma os argumentos em torno da ação afirmativa se relacionam com as estratégias retóricas mobilizadas para sua expressão, a pesquisa é orientada pelo seguinte questionamento: sob quais condições comunicativas as opiniões dos indivíduos contrários e favoráveis às cotas raciais nas universidades se formam e se expressam nas conversações online? O corpus é composto por 4.333 comentários postados nas redes sociais YouTube, Facebook e Twitter, analisados com base em um livro de códigos, cujas variáveis (tema da conversação, posicionamento do comentário, argumentos e estratégias retóricas) são traçadas a partir da perspectiva da retórica e da deliberação.This article presents a reflection on the discussion about the racial quota policy in Brazil. To verify how the arguments around the affirmative action relate to the rhetorical strategies mobilized for their expression, the research follows the question: under which communicative conditions are the opinions of individuals contrary and favorable to racial quotas in universities formed and expressed in online conversations? The research corpus consists of 4,333 comments posted on the social medias YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, based on a code book, whose variables (topic of conversation, commentary position, arguments, and rhetorical strategies) are drawn from the perspective of rhetoric and deliberation
