Electronic-Structure Calculations of Cation-Ordered II-III Layered Double Hydroxides: Origin of the Distortion of the Metal-Coordination Symmetry

    Get PDF
Cation ordering brings down the crystal symmetry and introduces distortion into the coordination polyhedra around the divalent cations. In particular, edge sharing of the differently sized M(OH)6 polyhedra causes a non-uniform distension of the array of hydroxy ions. The question arises as to whether this distortion has its origin in the JahnTeller distortion of metal coordination or a 2D Peierls-type distortion of the array of hydroxy ions. To address this question, DFT calculations were performed on the sulfate-intercalated CuCr, ZnCr, and ZnAl layered double hydroxides (LDHs). An analysis of the density of states shows that the distortion of the Cu2+ coordination polyhedron is due to the JahnTeller effect, whereas the Zn2+ coordination polyhedron in ZnAl LDH likely suffers a Peierls-type distortion. In the ZnCr LDH, electronic-structure calculations do not predict any distortion in the metal coordination, which is in agreement with experimental results that show only a slight departure from ideal symmetry. © 2017 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Social behavioral profile appropriately reflects a user’s OSN activity patterns. People get right of entry to OSNs using both conventional computer PCs and new emerging cellular devices. With multiple billion customers global, OSNs are a brand new venue of innovation with many difficult studies issues. In this paper, we look at the social behaviors of OSN customers, i.e., their utilization of OSN offerings, and the utility of which in detecting the compromised accounts. We capture user conduct with the subsequent metrics: user connectivity, user hobby and user reactions. We validate and represent the person social hobby on OSN. The take a look at is based totally on distinct ClickStream data, the ClickStream data reveals key features of the social network workloads, consisting of how frequently humans connect to social networks and for a way lengthy, in addition to the kinds and sequences of activities that users conduct on those websites. We take note of the traits of social behaviors were view malicious behaviors of OSN users and show the social behavioral profiles can correctly differentiate man or woman OSN users and discover compromised account

    Get PDF
In this paper CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) have been widely implemented to provide scalable cloud services. Such networks support resource pooling by permitting virtual machines or physical servers to be dynamically activated and deactivated consistent with current user demand. This paper examines on-line video replication and placement problems in Content delivery networks an efficient video provisioning scheme should simultaneously utilize system resources to reduce total energy consumption and limit replication overhead. We inclined to propose a scheme known as adaptive information placement that may dynamically place and reorganize video replicas among cache servers on subscribers’ arrival and departure. Both the analyses and simulation results show that adaptive information placement will reduce the number of activated cache servers with restricted replication overhead. Additionally, adaptive information placements performance is approximate to the optimal solution

Background: 10million could die every year due to antibiotic resistant infections by 2050 unless the threat is addressed. Irrational use of antibiotic use is a global phenomenon. So, 50% all anti bionics are prescribed, sold are dispensed inappropriately, while 50% of patients are not taking antibiotics correctly (WHO 2004).Methods: This was a cross section study it was a conducted in RVS institute, tertiary care teaching hospital. Chittoor. The questionnaire was distributed along the faculty resident doctors and senior faculty of this RVS institute Where their knowledge, attitude, practice regarding antibiotic prescription and resistance was assessed by a five point likert scale, whose response ranged from strongly agree to disagree. Some questionnaire were of useful or nor useful and yes or no.Results: Irrational prescription of antibiotics is worldwide problem and also in India was known to most of the physicians in our institute (n=95%) of participants. 80% subjects answered that prescription writing influenced by senior faculty and medical representatives. 50% subjects answered that antimicrobial resistance is a problem in daily practice.80 % subjects answered that most of the antibiotics available as over the counter drugs (OTC).Conclusions: This study concludes, prescription writing influences by senior faculty and medical representatives. It’s important to monitor and auditing prescription writing based on WHO Antibiotic guidelines to prevent resistance. Strict vigilance of OTC sales of antibiotics to prevent resistance

    Isothermal Shock Wave in Magnetogasdynamics

The problem of propagation of a plane isothermal discontinuity (shock) wave in a homogeneous semi-infinite body of a perfect gas, in the presence of amagnetic field have been solved. It has been shown that under certain definiteconditions, the density p at the wave front may be arbitrarily high for a singlecompression pulse. A certain class of solutions of the present problem for a nonhomogeneous semi-infinite body have been derived. Such solutions are expected to be of great importance in compression problems of plasma

Fully nonlinear excitations of non-Abelian plasma

We investigate fully nonlinear, non-Abelian excitations of quark-antiquark plasma, using relativistic fluid theory in cold plasma approximation. There are mainly three important nonlinearities, coming from various sources such as non-Abelian interactions of Yang-Mills (YM) fields, Wong's color dynamics and plasma nonlinearity, in our model. By neglecting nonlinearities due to plasma and color dynamics we get back the earlier results of Blaizot {\it et. al.}, Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, 3317 (1994). Similarly, by neglecting YM fields nonlinearity and plasma nonlinearity, it reduces to the model of Gupta {\it et. al.}, Phys. Lett. B498, 223 (2005). Thus we have the most general non-Abelian mode of quark-gluon plasma (QGP). Further, our model resembles the problem of propagation of laser beam through relativistic plasma, Physica 9D, 96 (1983). in the absence of all non-Abelian interactions.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures, articl

Modeling for the Control of the Laser Aided Manufacturing Process (LAMP)

    Get PDF
Many state-of-the-art Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies adopt lasers to fabricate 3-D solid parts by material deposition in layers. The ability of these RP technologies to control the process requires a thorough understanding of the process mechanics. This paper presents the analysis of an analytical, dynamic model explaining the complex phenomenon of Laser Aided Manufacturing Process (LAMP). The equilibrium of the dynamic model is analyzed and dynamic simulations are performed to determine its stability characteristics. This model forms the basis for the real-time control of the LAMP

Application of RSM to optimise single locking cotton feeder for enhancing ginning efficiency of double roller gin

    Get PDF
Spike cylinder single locking cotton feeder has been developed and optimized to enhance the ginning efficiency of doubleroller (DR) gin. The feeder is developed with an aim to unlock the cotton bolls and maintain constant feeding rate of individuallocules at the ginning point of DR gin. Spike cylinder speed and cotton moisture content are optimized by using responsesurface methodology. Ginning efficiency of DR gin is improved with the use of developed feeder. Quadratic models forprediction of ginning output and specific energy and linear model for prediction of reduction in bulk density are generated byusing response surface methodology following central composite design that show excellent agreement with the experimentalvalues. Multiple response analysis shows the optimum level of moisture content (7.49%) and spike cylinder speed (317 rpm)with desirability of 0.904695 by maximizing the output and minimizing the specific energy. The ginning output, cleaningefficiency and reduction in bulk density are increased by 23.25%, 16% and 30.5% respectively, whereas the specific energy isdecreased by 12% without any adverse effect on fibre quality. Colour grade of the cotton improves from middling to strictmiddling. Thus, the developed feeder would be highly useful for cotton ginneries
