RELACIÓN ENTRE LAS HABILIDADES DE ESTUDIO Y EL DESEMPEÑO ACADÉMICO (RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STUDY SKILLS AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE)

ResumenDiversos autores consideran el nivel de habilidades para estudiar con que cuentan los estudiantes a su ingreso al nivel superior, como un factor determinante en su desempeño académico especialmente durante los primeros semestres de sus estudios profesionales. El objetivo del presente trabajo es determinar el modelo que describa mejor la relación entre las habilidades para el estudio y el desempeño académico a partir de la información obtenida de un grupo de estudiantes a su ingreso a una Universidad. En este trabajo se exploran diversos modelos, encontrándose que el modelo cuadrático (la parábola) es el que presenta una mejor relación entre el desempeño académico de los estudiantes y sus habilidades para el estudio durante a su ingreso al nivel superior. Por tal motivo, es necesario implementar acciones que promuevan en la mejora de su nivel de habilidades para el estudio, a fin de incidir en su situación académica durante los primeros semestres de Universidad.Palabra(s) Clave: acreditación, correlación, fracaso escolar, habilidades para estudiar, rendimiento escolar. Abstract Several authors consider the level of study skills that students have at entry to the higher level, as a determining factor in their academic performance especially during the first semesters of their professional studies. The objective of this paper is to determine the model that best describes the relationship between study skills and academic performance based on information obtained from a group of students upon admission to a university. In this paper, several models are explored, finding that the quadratic model (the parabola) is the one that presents a better relationship between students' academic performance and their study skills during their entry to the higher level. PERCEPCIÓN SOBRE IGUALDAD DE GÉNERO EN ESTUDIANTES DE INGENIERÍA (PERCEPTION ON GENDER EQUALITY IN ENGINEERING STUDENTS)

ResumenEn la última década parece que la desigualdad de género se está reduciendo, sin embargo queda mucho por hacer, particularmente en las Instituciones educativas. En este trabajo se presenta una primera aproximación del estudio de la equidad de género en una muestra significativa y aleatoria de estudiantes de primer semestre de ingeniería. Se aplicó un instrumento conformado por 30 ítems relacionados con la percepción de los estudiantes sobre el tema de la igualdad de género. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes encuestados han vivido alguna situación de discriminación debido a que algún profesor los ha discriminado con favoritismos y ofensas verbales; otros más manifiestan haber sido discriminados por sus mismos compañeros debido a su apariencia física o por aspectos socioeconómicos, entre otras causas. Por tal motivo, es urgente considerar el impacto de la asociación de roles a mujeres y hombres según el género sobre la formación integral de los estudiantes. Palabra(s) Clave:desigualdad social, diferenciación social, influencia social, rol de géneros.  AbstractIn the last decade it seems that gender inequality is shrinking, however much remains to be done, particularly in educational institutions. This paper presents a first approach to the study of gender equity in a significant and random sample of first-year engineering students. An instrument consisting of 30 items related to the students' perception on the subject of gender equality was applied. The results show that the students surveyed have experienced some situation of discrimination because some teacher has discriminated against them with favoritism and verbal offenses; others claim to have been discriminated against by their peers due to their physical appearance or socioeconomic aspects, among other causes. PLAN DE MEJORA DE LA COMPETENCIA MATEMÁTICA EN ESTUDIANTES DE BACHILLERATO (MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCE IMPROVEMENT PLAN IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS)

ResumenLas instituciones del nivel medio superior en el estado de Guanajuato enfrentan serios problemas de deserción ocasionados principalmente por la deficiente calidad de los aprendizajes en matemáticas. Esta situación que incide en los indicadores institucionales relacionados con la deserción, el rezago y la eficiencia terminal. Con la finalidad de mejorar las competencias matemáticas en los estudiantes de bachillerato, surge esta propuesta para promover el uso de la plataforma Khan Academy como apoyo académico. Su implementación se realizó a través de una estrategia de colaboración entre el Centro de Bachillerato Tecnológico Industrial y de Servicios (CBTIS 198) y el Tecnológico Nacional de México en Celaya (TecNMC) con la finalidad de fortalecer los conocimientos de matemáticas en los estudiantes de bachillerato, lo cual favorecerá su movilidad del nivel medio superior al superior. Asimismo, se pretende que este programa facilite el acceso y permanencia de los egresados del CBTIS 198 en el nivel superior, considerando que las matemáticas son parte fundamental de los programas de ingeniería.  Palabra(s) Clave:estudio independiente, instrucción individualizada, instrucción asistida por computadora, software educativo. AbstractThe institutions of the upper secondary level in the state of Guanajuato face serious problems of desertion caused mainly by the deficient quality of learning in mathematics. This situation affects the institutional indicators related to desertion, lag and terminal efficiency. In order to improve mathematical skills in high school students, this proposal arises to promote the use of the Khan Academy platform as academic support. Its implementation was carried out through a collaboration strategy between the Center for Industrial Technological Bachillerato and Services (CBTIS 198) and the Technological National of Mexico in Celaya (TecNMC) with the purpose of strengthening the knowledge of mathematics in high school students, which will favor their mobility from the upper level to the upper level. EXÁMENES DEPARTAMENTALES COMO ESTRATEGIA PARA REDUCIR LA VARIABILIDAD EN LOS ÍNDICES DE APROBACIÓN

Resumen     El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar un análisis de los resultados que se obtuvieron en la materia de Cálculo Diferencial en el Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya (ITC). Los estudiantes de todas las carreras de ingeniería que se ofrecen en el ITC, cursan esta materia y se les evaluaron las competencias que requiere la asignatura a través de exámenes departamentales, propiciando las mismas condiciones de aplicación en tiempo y espacio. Con este estudio se pretende visualizar las áreas de oportunidad en el aprendizaje del cálculo diferencial, que permitan dirigir estrategias a fin de reducir la variabilidad en los índices de aprobación por grupo y especialidad. Los resultados muestran que es posible reducir la variación en los índices de aprobación de la asignatura de Cálculo Diferencial a través del trabajo colegiado entre los docentes y los acuerdos tomados por la vocalía de esta asignatura, además de la aplicación de los exámenes departamentales.Palabra(s) Clave(s): Aprendizaje, aprovechamiento académico, competencias, evaluación, variabilidad. AbstractThe objective of this work was to perform an analysis of the results obtained in the subject of Differential Calculus at the Technological Institute of Celaya (ITC). The students of all the engineering careers that are offered in the ITC, study this subject and they were evaluated the competences that the subject requires through departmental examinations, propitiando the same conditions of application in time and space. This study intends to visualize the areas of opportunity in the differential calculus learning, which allow directing strategies in order to reduce the variability in approval rates by group and specialty. The results show that it is possible to reduce the variation in the approval rates of the Differential Calculus course through the collegial work between the teachers and the agreements taken by the vocal of this subject, in addition to the application of departmental exams.Keywords: Academic achievement, competencies, evaluation, learning, variability

EMOCIONES DE LOS ESTUDIANTES EN TIEMPOS DE PANDEMIA COVID-19 (SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS IN TIMES OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN PROFESSIONAL LEVEL STUDENTS)

Resumen La pandemia ocasionada por el Covid-19 transformó el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la modalidad presencial a la modalidad virtual lo cual ha hecho que los estudiantes tengan que lidiar con sentimientos de aislamiento. Con la finalidad de conocer las emociones experimentadas por estudiantes de primer semestre en una institución de educación superior, se les aplicó una encuesta para conocer las emociones, durante el periodo enero junio 2021, y se encontró que la mayoría de los estudiantes se encuentran preocupados, tristes, enojados, nerviosos, cansados, molestos, asustados, ansiosos, aburridos, y se sienten solos. Por solucionar necesidades básicas, requieren adaptabilidad, flexibilidad y capacidad para ajustarse a un contexto completamente nuevo, necesitan desarrollar la creatividad para poder seguir aprendiendo en un entorno diferente. Además el aprendizaje a distancia requiere de habilidades digitales que no habían adquirido y tampoco estaban preparados para el aprendizaje autónomo; tienen miedo a contagiarse, imaginando lo que puede ocurrir a familiares y seres cercanos. Abstract The pandemic caused by Covid-19 transformed the teaching and learning process from face-to-face to virtual mode, which has made students have to deal with feelings of isolation. To know the emotions experienced by first-semester students in a higher education institution, a survey was applied to them to know the emotions, during the period January-June 2021, and it was found that most of the students are worried, sad, angry, nervous, tired, upset, scared, anxious, bored, and lonely. To solve basic needs, they require adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to adjust to a completely new context, they need to develop creativity to be able to continue learning in a different environment. In addition, distance learning requires digital skills that they had not acquired and were not prepared for autonomous learning; they are afraid of being infected, imagining what can happen to relatives and close being. MEJORAS EN LA OPERACIÓN DE UN PROCESO AUTOMOTRIZ A TRAVÉS DE LA REDUCCIÓN DEL TIEMPO DE CICLO (IMPROVEMENTS IN THE OPERATION OF AN AUTOMOTIVE PROCESS THROUGH REDUCING THE CYCLE TIME)

Resumen Actualmente en nuestro país la industria automotriz es una de las más importantes para la economía, debido a que es un sector estratégico en el desarrollo regional, la generación de empleo y el ingreso de divisas. Así, esta industria requiere trabajar con mayores niveles de productividad y calidad, la automatización de los procesos y la supervisión integrada al proceso, entre otros aspectos a considerar para ser más competitivas tanto en términos económicos como de calidad. El proyecto se realizó en una empresa del sector automotriz la cual desarrolla y comercializa tecnologías innovadoras de gestión térmica para calefacción, refrigeración y control de temperatura. Se realizó un estudio sistemático de las operaciones y actividades que se desarrollan en el proceso de soldadura, buscando mejoras en términos de eficiencia y reducción de costos mediante la aplicación de las herramientas que proporciona la Ingeniería de Métodos y la Medición del Trabajo. El proyecto se originó en el área de climatizados, en el proceso de soldadura de un arnés producido para un cliente del sector automotriz. Este proceso es considerado como uno de los más lentos ya que es aquí en donde se lleva a cabo la integración del cable NTC a los circuitos del arnés. La causa de tener un proceso lento se debe a que esta operación no está estandarizada debido a que bajo las condiciones de operación actual, la estación sucesora presenta constantes paros ocasionados por la falta de material, el cual es necesario para la terminación del calentador. El proceso de soldadura actual se hace con punta de cautín, lo cual ocasiona que sea un proceso lento; se propone cambiar la soldadura por estaño para acelerar el proceso a fin de reducir el tiempo de ciclo y a su vez, incrementar la producción de arneses terminados. El objetivo de este proyecto es incrementar la salida de piezas de producción, mejorar el flujo del proceso y mejorar el balance entre las operaciones del proceso de soldadura. Abstract Currently, in our country, the automotive industry is one of the most important for the economy, because it is a strategic sector in regional development, job creation, and foreign exchange earnings. Thus, this industry requires working with higher levels of productivity and quality, the automation of processes, and the supervision integrated into the process, among other aspects to consider to be more competitive both in economic and quality terms. The project was carried out in a company in the automotive sector that develops and markets innovative thermal management technologies for heating, cooling, and temperature control. A systematic study of the operations and activities that take place in the welding process was carried out, seeking improvements in terms of efficiency and cost reduction through the application of the tools provided by Methods Engineering and Work Measurement. The project originated in the air conditioning area, in the process of welding a harness produced for a customer in the automotive sector. This process is considered one of the slowest since it is here where the integration of the NTC cable to the harness circuits takes place. The cause of having a slow process is that this operation is not standardized. After all, under the current operating conditions, the successor station presents constant stops caused by the lack of material, which is necessary for the termination of the heater. The current welding process is done with a soldering iron tip, which causes it to be a slow process; It is proposed to switch from soldering to tin to speed up the process to reduce cycle time and in turn increase the production of finished harnesses. The objective of this project is to increase the output of production parts, improve the flow of the process and improve the balance between the operations of the welding process.
