Among all non conventional micro machining, electrochemical discharge machining ECDM is having high quality of material removal rate with zero residual stress. This machining has been accepted as a highly modern technology in micromachining. In this paper an effort has been done on micro drilling of glass using electrochemical discharge machining ECDM . A fixed tool and a step down transformer have been used to support the steady machining to increase the accuracy of work piece. The input parameters used in this experiment are voltage, concentration of electrolyte, enter electrode gap and ratio of area of electrode. MRR has been investigated over the input parameters. Feed rate and electrolyte temperature has been made constant of 3µm sec and 30°c respectively. Taguchi method is used to optimize the effect of the process parameters on MRR. The signal to noise S N ratio and the ANOVA analysis are employed to find the contributions of input parameters. Thermal Convection in a Couple-Stress Fluid in the Presence of Horizontal Magnetic Field with Hall Currents

    Get PDF
The thermal stability of a couple-stress fluid is considered to include the effects of uniform horizontal magnetic field and Hall currents. The analysis is carried out within the framework of linear stability theory and normal made technique. For the case of stationary convection, magnetic field has stabilizing effect whereas Hall currents are found to have destabilizing effect on the system. The couple stress, however, has dual character in contrast to its stabilizing effect in the absence of Hall currents. Oscillatory modes are not allowed in the system. Graphs in each case have been plotted by giving numerical values to the parameters, depicting the stability characteristics

    A Review on Impulse RADAR

    Get PDF
RADAR plays a vital role in military applications since its origin in the 2nd world war. Recently it has been used in surface inception, health monitoring, infrastructure health monitoring, etc. In these applications, Ultra-wideband RADAR systems are more popular than traditional RADAR systems. Impulse RADAR is a special kind of ultra-wideband RADAR, which is mostly used for surface penetration, through-wall imaging, antimissile detection, anti-stealth technology, etc. because of its high resolution and low center frequency. Out of all these applications, impulse RADAR has been used intensively as a ground-penetrating RADAR for the detection of land mines, underlying pipelines, buried objects, etc. This report has attempted to provide the steps for designing the impulse ground penetrating RADAR (GPR) as well as provides the value of crucial parameters required in the design process of commercial GPR systems

Medication compliance in schizophrenic out patients with psychoactive substance use co-morbidity: a cross-sectional study

Background: Medication adherence is an important issue in the treatment and management of persons with psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia. Apart from side effects and inefficient outcomes of psychiatric medications, substance abuse also complicates the adherence pattern to the prescribed medications. Present study was designed to estimate the magnitude of medication non-adherence and its correlates in patients with schizophrenia having co-morbid psychoactive substance use.Method: The 60 schizophrenic patients with active substance use were taken from OPD of institute of mental health and hospital, Agra. Positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS), alcohol, smoking and substance involvement screening test (ASSIST), medication adherence rating scale (MARS) and Morisky 8-item medication adherence questionnaire (MMAQ-8) were used to gather relevant clinical data along with a proforma for recording socio-demographic characteristics. Results: The results revealed an alarming level of medication adherence. The 91.7% sample (55 patients) met the criteria for medication non-adherence. Majority of the patients were using alcohol (58.3%) and cannabis (51.7%). Conclusions: Given the high rate of medication non-compliance it is suggested that specific intervention aimed at compliance to prescribed medication is needed in this population

Effects of anisotropy in an anisotropic extension of wwCDM model

In this paper, we derive observational constraints on an anisotropic wwCDM model from observational data including Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAOs), Cosmic Chronometer (CC), Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN), Pantheon Plus (PP) compilation of Type Ia supernovae, and SH0ES Cepheid host distance anchors. We find that anisotropy is of the order 10−1310^{-13}, and its presence in the wwCDM model reduces H0H_0 tension by ∼2σ\sim 2\sigma and ∼1σ\sim 1\sigma in the analyses with BAO+CC+BBN+PP and BAO+CC+BBN+PPSH0ES data combinations, respectively. In both analyses, the quintessence form of dark energy is favored at 95\% CL.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figures, 3 table

Challenges in implementing digital health services in rural India

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic, with mandatory social distancing and lockdown, has shown the success of telemedicine in reducing geographical and time obstacles. This has stimulated its ingress into mainstream healthcare services as the safest means of interaction between doctor and patient during the pandemic. There are several barriers that need to be addressed in order to spread these digital services. Aim: This study explores the challenges to adopting telemedicine and its status in remote districts of Himachal Pradesh, India. Methods: A mixed-method approach was used to identify challenges found in remote healthcare facilities. A survey was conducted using a 20-item checklist to capture information regarding infrastructure, telemedicine equipment, manpower and demography of the area. During telephone interviews, questionnaires were used to evaluate the status of acceptance of telemedicine and challenges to its implementation in the remote State of Himachal Pradesh, India. Results: The study identifies the challenges as lack of awareness (75.9%), level of education of patient (44.8%) having primary education, age of the patient (17.2%), technically challenged staff (30%), followed by resistance to change (80%) and high workload with manpower shortage (60%). Conclusion: While there are other barriers, this study provides policymakers with insights into the current perceived challenges to telemedicine implementation, which they can address to increase the penetration of telehealth services, particularly in rural areas.   &nbsp

Burn Injury Management, Pathophysiology and Its Future Prospectives

    Get PDF
For intensive care physicians, burns are a frequent and challenging patient complication. Specialist facilities prioritise patient stabilisation, infection prevention, and functional rehabilitation to the greatest extent possible. Researchers have been focusing on burns for decades, and thanks to their efforts, the mortality rate for burn patients, especially young patients and those with moderate burns, has been steadily declining. However, the intensivist often faces challenges that make it hard to provide care and stabilise patients. There may be unique complications associated with burn wounds that necessitate either delayed treatment or prolonged rehabilitation. Improvements in patient stabilisation and treatment have resulted from advances made in burn wound care thanks to research. This article discusses recent advances in the treatment of burn patients, focusing on the pathophysiology of burns and the management of burn wounds
