Further Parameters Estimation of Neocognitron Neural Network Modification with FFT Convolution

    Get PDF
This paper presents further development of an improved version of the neocognitron algorithm introduced by Fukushima. Some comparisons of other symbol recognition methods based on the neocognitron neural network are also performed, which led to the proposal of several modifications — namely, layer dimension adjustment, threshold function and connection Gaussian kernel estimation. The width and height are taken into account independently in order to improve the recognition of patterns of slightly different dimensions. The learning and recognition calculations are performed as FFT convolutions in order to utilize external specialized computing system. Finally, more detailed results of the neocognitron performance evaluation are provided

The article discusses the features of digital journalism, specialized applications for smartphones and tablets, which allow users to actively participate in the news creation, to discuss issues and problems that arise in recreative journalism. The article investigates the latest technologies of building applications and media texts recreative orientation, used by journalists and the audience for the transmission of related information. In the article for the first time characterized the role of augmented reality applications in the formation of social dialogue, which is aimed at deepening mutual understanding between journalists and readers and implementing recreational communicative functions of journalism. This article discusses the factors of successful functioning of these applications. The study will help a number of scientists to contribute to the development of innovative technologies

Cardiomyopathies and related changes in contractility of human heart muscle

    No full text
About half of hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathies cases have been recognized as genetic diseases with mutations in sarcomeric proteins. The sarcomeric proteins are involved in cardiomyocyte contractility and its regulation, and play a structural role. Mutations in non-sarcomeric proteins may induce changes in cell signaling pathways that modify contractile response of heart muscle. These facts strongly suggest that contractile dysfunction plays a central role in initiation and progression of cardiomyopathies. In fact, abnormalities in contractile mechanics of myofibrils have been discovered. However, it has not been revealed how these mutations increase risk for cardiomyopathy and cause the disease. Much research has been done and still much is being done to understand how the mechanism works. Here, we review the facts of cardiac myofilament contractility in patients with cardiomyopathy and heart failure

Socio-economic conditions as a factor of revealing cities’ marketing potential

    No full text
The object of the study are the socio-economic conditions of cities as the basis of marketing potential. The purpose of the study is to identify the role of socio-economic conditions in revealing the marketing potential of cities. The main methods used for the study are matching, comparison, ranking. Our conclusion is that socio-economic conditions cannot always be perceived as the basis for revealing the marketing potential of a city, which is proved by independent studies of the authors, as well as by the analysis of data obtained in the course of other studies. It was possible to establish that socio-economic conditions do not guarantee permanent population growth for cities: the affordability of a basic set of goods and services, a competitive level of income, the availability of higher education institutions and the saturation with health and cultural facilities are not necessarily highly rated by real and potential local residents. This allows us to speak about the need for marketing efforts to attract consumers of a territorial product (socio-economic conditions of a city), it is not enough to have any advantages – it is important to be able to draw attention to them, to ensure the formation of the necessary attitudes regarding the socio-economic conditions of life in cities. Therefore, we are speaking about the need to take into account the nature of consumer demand for the socio-economic conditions of cities and the use of the appropriate type of marketing. The authors have examined a number of examples of applying city types of marketing, such as conversion, incentive, supportive, synchromarketing, remarketing and demarketing

The article characterizes the properties of public tourism practice and the role of travel journalism in the intellectualization of this practice. Its ability to optimize media field as media reality tourism practices is identified. We study the nature of the media space of travel journalism, its most important laws that ensure optimal interaction between those who produce, distribute and consume tourist information, including intellectual resources
