Background: To discover the relationship between the socio-economic, demographic characteristics and complications for acceptors following Double puncture laparoscopic (DPL ) and conventional tubal ligation (CTL) procedures in rural and urban communities and additionally, we also sought  to  study  the  occurrence  of  post  tubal  ligation  syndrome. Methods: A follow up study on 1000 women over a period of two years was conducted. The study was divided into 2 groups: 500 women undergone double puncture laparoscopic (DPL) sterilization and another 500 women underwent conventional tubal ligation (CTL). The acceptors were personally interviewed as per the guide lines in the proforma in the field at their door steps with help of multipurpose health workers (ANM) of the area concerned in the rural areas. Results: The mean age of DPL and CTL groups were 24.4 years and 23.8 years, respectively. The acceptance of type of procedure was almost equal in all religious groups. As the level of education increases there is clear correlation with DPL acceptance. The overall acceptance of tubectomy was higher in house wives (61%) than the working women (39%). However house wives preferred to undergone conventional tubectomy more (63%) than the DPL (59%). The DPL acceptors were more of higher economic status (49%) whereas CTL acceptors were more of lower economic status (54.4%). The overall complications of DPL acceptors were lower than CTL acceptors. Moreover, these complications didn’t influence with socio-economic, demographic characteristics. Conclusions: Age, religion, literacy status, economic status & occupation of acceptors didn’t influence the occurrence of complications and post tubal ligation syndrome does exist in both groups

    CONTROLLED-POROSITY OSMOTIC PUMP TABLETS-AN OVERVIEW

Conventional drug delivery systems have little control over their drug release and almost no control over the effective concentration at the target site. This kind of dosing pattern may result in constantly changing, unpredictable plasma concentrations. Drugs can be delivered in a controlled pattern over a long period of time by the process of osmosis. Osmotic devices are the most promising strategy based systems for controlled drug delivery. They are the most reliable controlled drug delivery systems and could be employed as oral drug delivery systems. The present review is concerned with the study of drug release systems which are tablets coated with walls of controlled porosity. When these systems are exposed to water, low levels of water soluble additive is leached from polymeric material i.e. semipermeable membrane and drug releases in a controlled manner over an extended period of time. Drug delivery from this system is not influenced by the different physiological factors within the gut lumen and the release characteristics can be predicted easily from the known properties of the drug and the dosage form. In this paper, various types of osmotically controlled drug delivery systems and the basic components of controlled porosity osmotic pump tablets have been discussed briefly

    Get PDF
The collection of nodes is termed as community in any network system that are tightly associated to the other nodes. In network investigation, identifying the community structure is crucial task, particularly for exposing connections between certain nodes. For community overlapping, network discovery, there are numerous methodologies described in the literature. Numerous scholars have recently focused on network embedding and feature learning techniques for node clustering. These techniques translate the network into a representation space with fewer dimensions. In this paper, a deep neural network-based model for learning graph representation and stacked auto-encoders are given a nonlinear embedding of the original graph to learn the model. In order to extract overlapping communities, an AEOCDSN algorithm is used. The efficiency of the suggested model is examined through experiments on real-world datasets of various sizes and accepted standards. The method outperforms various well-known community detection techniques, according to empirical findings

Advanced EEG Signal Based Min to Mean Algorithm Approach For Human Emotion Taxonomy And Mental State Analysis

With electroencephalography (EEG) brain waves alone, it is full-scale phenomena in the field of computer-brain interface DNN, CNN, and SVM have improved detection and prediction accuracy in a number of researches during the last several years. But when it comes to recognizing global reliance, both deep learning and SVM have obvious limits. Pre-processing, extraction capabilities, and network design are the most common techniques used in deep learning models today, yet they are still unable to produce reliable results in noisy and sparse datasets. Any dataset, no matter how little or large, may suffer from poor SVM performance due to overlapping target instructions and boundaries. There are many different sorts of emotions that may be classified using the particular approach employed in this research. In order to get a whole picture of a person's mental state, it is best to use a "Min of mean” proposed technique. After comparison to the referential mean, a feeling is divided into one of four emotional quadrants. The MIN Max range is used to further split the emotion into 12 subcategories based on the amount of arousal. The proposed set of rules performed better than existing methods. Research on multi-class emotion reputation has shown that, compared to more recent studies, the proposed technique may be rather strong. It is possible to analyze a person's mental health by using the emotional spectrum, which has an accuracy rate of above 90%

A few entrepreneurs at Sakthikulangara launched three medium deep sea trawlers in September-October, 1988, aiming offshore resources like deep-sea prawns and lobsters and other quality fishes in the sea beyond 50 metres. Among these newly introduced vessels, two are wooden and the third is steel built. The specification of both type of vessels are tabled in this report. When compared to the existing trawlers they are much bigger in size, horse power, capacity and endurance, and well equipped in all respects

Issues and Challenges in Advertising on the Web

    Get PDF
One of the big surprises of the 21st century has been the ability of all sorts of interesting Web applications to support themselves through advertising, rather than subscription. While radio and television have managed to use advertising as their primary revenue source, most media – newspapers and magazines, for example – have had to use a hybrid approach, combining revenue from advertising and subscriptions.  A venue for on-line advertising has been search, and much of the effectiveness of search advertising came from the “adwords” model of matching search queries to advertisements. This paper presents the algorithms for optimizing the way of matching search queries to advertisements is done. The algorithms discussed are of unusual type; they are greedy and they are on-line which are used to tackle the adwords problem.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v4i5.662

Background: Hypothyroidism often presents to nephrologists with elevated serum creatinine which may lead to unnecessary evaluation including renal biopsy.  Methods: We retrospectively analysed the data of 24 patients who presented to the department of nephrology at our institute with anasarca/facial puffiness or elevated serum creatinine and diagnosed to have hypothyroidism with TSH >40 µIU/ml.Results: Twelve patients presented with generalised edema, eight patients for evaluation of deranged serum creatinine and four patients with both generalised edema and deranged serum creatinine. Age (r=0.696, p<0.001) and serum thyroid stimulating hormone (r=0.504, p=0.012) had significant positive correlation with serum creatinine whereas serum total thyroxine (r=-0.637, p<0.001) and triiodothyronine (r=-0.728, p<0.001) had significant negative correlation. Serum sodium was lower (<136 mmol/L) in eight patients. Age (r=-0.598, p<0.001), serum creatinine (r=-0.624, p<0.001), and serum thyroid stimulating hormone (r=-0.728, p=0.012) had significant negative correlation with serum sodium whereas serum total thyroxine (r=0.869, p<0.001) and triiodothyronine (r=.845, p<0.001) had significant positive correlation. Serum creatinine and sodium normalised in all after levothyroxine replacement. Conclusions: To conclude, hypothyroidism is not an uncommon cause of mild-moderate renal dysfunction and often presents to nephrologists prompting unnecessary investigations including renal biopsy. Hence, all newly diagnosed mild-moderate renal failure patients should be tested to rule out primary hypothyroidism

    Get PDF
In automatic numeral digit recognition system, feature selection is most important factor for achieving high recognition performance. To achieve this, the present paper proposed system for isolated handwritten numeral recognition using number of contours, skeleton features, Number of watersheds, and ratio between the numbers of foreground pixels in upper half part and lower half-part of the numerical digit image. Based on these features the present paper designed user-defined classification algorithm for handwritten digit recognition. To find the effectiveness of the proposed features, these features are given as an input for standard classification algorithms like k–nearest neighbor classifier, Support Vector Machines and other classification algorithms and evaluate the results.  The experimental result proves that the proposed features are well suited for handwritten digit recognition for both user and standard classification algorithms. The novelty of the proposed method is size invariant
