Percepção e satisfação de estudantes estrangeiros em uma instituição de ensino pública

This work aims to analyze the overall adaptation and satisfaction with the current context of life, main perceived difficulties and satisfaction with specific aspects among undergraduate foreign students in a Federal Institution of Higher Education in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, linked to the Student Program Agreement-Graduation (PEC-G). Six students, mostly from the African continent, participated in the study. The data were obtained through interviews, which were conducted between August and September 2017. Most of the students registered reasonable or good levels of adaptation. Among the main difficulties cited are the homesickness they feel about the family and the differences of the Brazilian education system in relation to the system they were accustomed to in their country of origin. The services they would seek at this moment would be medical and dental assistance, assistance in the search for housing, living spaces for foreigners, psychological guidance and guidance and career planning. The research also highlights the need to consider cultural aspects in the care of these students, especially in the reception period, because it is when they feel more difficult to adapt and organize their personal and academic life in the new country.Este trabalho tem como intuito analisar a adaptação e a satisfação globais com o atual contexto de vida, principais dificuldades percebidas e satisfação com aspectos específicos entre alunos estrangeiros de graduação em uma Instituição Federal de Ensino Superior do interior do Rio Grande do Sul, vinculados ao Programa Estudante Convênio-Graduação (PEC-G). Participaram da pesquisa seis estudantes, majoritariamente vindos do continente africano. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de entrevistas, as quais foram realizadas entre agosto e setembro de 2017. A maioria dos estudantes registrou níveis de adaptação razoáveis ou bons. Entre as principais dificuldades citadas, está a saudade que sentem da família e as diferenças do sistema de ensino brasileiro em relação ao sistema com o qual estavam acostumados em seu país de origem. Os serviços que buscariam neste momento seriam assistência médica e odontológica, assistência na busca por moradia, espaços de convivência para estrangeiros, orientação psicológica e orientação e planejamento de carreira. A pesquisa evidencia ainda a necessidade de considerar aspectos culturais no atendimento a estes alunos, especialmente no período de recepção, pois é quando eles sentem mais dificuldades para se adaptar e organizar a sua vida pessoal e acadêmica no novo país

INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO DAS UNIVERSIDADES: ESTUDO SOBRE A PRODUÇÃO CIENTÍFICA

A temática internacionalização da educação está cada vez mais presente na realidade das instituições de ensino superior. Essa prática visa, além de promover a diversidade, possibilitar integrar seu corpo acadêmico à comunidade científica global, favorecendo, assim, a instalação de processos de inovação, competitividade e inserção internacional no país. Neste contexto, o estudo tem como objetivo compreender as características da produção científica internacional referente as temáticas internacionalização e universidade. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa bibliométrica, de natureza descritiva e abordagem quantitativa, utilizando como período de análise os anos de 1989 a 2018. Como principais resultados, destaca-se o crescimento do número de artigos publicados ao longo dos anos, apresentando maior quantidade no ano de 2017. China, Estados Unidos e Inglaterra, respectivamente, apresentam maior número de publicações. Ainda, identificou-se que research, students, development, globalization, science, markets, culture e intercultural experience são possíveis hot topics relacionados à internacionalização e universidade. This practice aims, besides promoting diversity, to make it possible to integrate its academic body with the global scientific community, thus favoring the installation of innovation, competitiveness and international insertion processes in the country.
