KB WOT Fisheries 2018: maintaining excellence and innovation in fisheries research

The KB WOT Fisheries programme is developed to maintain and develop expertise needed to carry out the Dutch statutory obligations in fisheries monitoring and advice. The KB WOT Fisheries programme developed for 2018 reflects the scientific and management needs of the WOT fisheries programme. The strength of KB WOT Fisheries lies in the top-down development of the programme while allowing bottomup input, with calls for proposals, to ensure innovation and improvement. To avoid missing research priorities relevant to WOT and LNV needs, the programme is built from a closed call for proposals to WOT Fisheries project leaders. But these WOT project leaders are requested to seek input from other Wageningen Marine Research scientists to ensure innovation. The KB WOT Fisheries programme will fund 17 projects in 2018 which will focus on monitoring and remote sensing of (shell) fish in marine and freshwater ecosystems, new methods and tools for surveys, discard and catch sampling and investigating the effects of fisheries. International exchange of new expertise and developments, as well as continuous quality assurance (for collecting, storage and analyses of data), forms a major part of the programm

Wettelijke Onderzoek Taken : WOT-05 Visserijonderzoek : Werkafspraken en werkplan 2014

The Wageningen UR programme WOT-05 Fisheries Research carries out statutory tasks which are related to Dutch and international legislation in fisheries management and aquaculture. The present programme started in 2002 and has been evaluated in 2010. In that year a new agreement has been established between the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (EZ) and DLO to extend the programme to the period 2011-2015 with some modifications. The main product of the programme is the provision of advice on fishery management and resource conservation to the Ministry, in particular the Directorate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agribusiness (EZ-DAD). Many of the projects in this programme deal with extensive data collection, which forms the basis for the advice. These projects include the compulsory collection of biological data required by the DCF3. The programme is carried out by the Institute for Marine Resources and Ecosystem Studies (IMARES) and the Centre for Fisheries Research (CVO) both in IJmuiden (The Netherlands)

Wettelijke Onderzoek Taken WOT-05 Visserijonderzoek: Beknopte jaarrapportage 2013

Deze jaarrapportage informeert het Ministerie van Economisch Zaken (EZ) over het onderzoek dat in 2013 is uitgevoerd binnen het programma WOT-05 Visserijonderzoek van DLO. In dit programma worden wettelijke onderzoekstaken uitgevoerd die betrekking hebben op het beheer van de visserij op zee, in Nederlandse kust- en binnenwateren en in de aquacultuur. De inhoud van dit programma is in 2010 vastgesteld in een Uitvoeringsovereenkomst tussen het toenmalige ministerie van EL&I en de Dienst Landbouwkundig Onderzoek (DLO) van Wageningen UR voor de periode 2011-2015. Bij deze uitvoeringsovereenkomst zijn voor deze periode werkafspraken gemaakt welke de basis vormen voor de jaarlijkse werkplannen

Dit rapport geeft een overzicht van alle door IMARES afgenomen monsters in 2006 van de belangrijkste commerciele vissoorten zoals haring, makreel, horsmakreel, (blauwe) wijting, schol, tong, tarbot en kabeljauw. Daarnaast is er aandacht voor de bemonsteringsprocedure van de aanvoer van commerciële vissoorten in Nederland. Welke soorten zijn bemonsterd, op welke wijze zijn de vissen gevangen, waar en wanneer zijn de monsters genomen, hoeveel vissen zijn gemeten, van hoeveel vissen is de leeftijd bepaald enz

Wettelijke Onderzoek Taken WOT-05 Visserijonderzoek: Werksafspraken en werkplan 2015

Dit rapport beschrijft het werkplan voor 2015 van cluster WOT-05 Visserijonderzoek van Wageningen UR. Wageningen UR voert voor het Ministerie van Economische Zaken (EZ) een aantal programma’s met Wettelijke Onderzoek Taken (WOT) uit. Binnen WOT-05 worden Wettelijke Onderzoek Taken uitgevoerd die betrekking hebben op het beheer van de visserij op zee, in Nederlandse kust- en binnenwateren en de aquacultuur. Het werkplan is een uitwerking van de Uitvoeringsovereenkomst tussen het Ministerie van EZ en de Stichting Dienst Landbouwkundig Onderzoek (DLO), onderdeel van Wageningen UR, voor diensten vanwege wettelijke taken op het terrein van visserijonderzoek voor de periode 2011-2015. Bij deze uitvoerings-overeenkomst zijn voor deze periode werkafspraken gemaakt welke de basis vormen voor de jaarlijkse werkplannen. Daarnaast zijn in deze overeenkomst afspraken gemaakt over de KennisBasis (KBWOT) die specifiek aan dit programma is gekoppeld

KB WOT Fisheries 2015 - Maintaining Excellence and Innovation in Fisheries Research

The KB WOT Fisheries programme is essential to the maintenance and development of the expertise which are needed for the Dutch statutory obligations in fisheries monitoring and advice. The contents of the KB WOT Fisheries programme for 2015 reflects the needs of the research developments the WOT fisheries programme. The strength of the KB WOT Fisheries programme is the bottom up approach which calls for projects and thus allowing innovation. As this can also be seen as a risk to missing research priorities, part of the programme also calls for specific projects relevant to IMARES and EZ needs. The KB WOT Fisheries programme will fund 14 projects in 2015 which will focus on remote sensing of fish and shell fish, the interaction of ecology and fisheries and new techniques for surveys and development of assessment methods. The programme will increase the ability of the WOT programme to ensure that fisheries advice is responsive to ecological change. This report describes the framework for the 2015 programme and the proposed research which will be carried out in 2015
