Modeling of ion-implanted atoms diffusion during the epitaxial growth of the layer

The equation of impurity diffusion due to formation, migration, and dissolution of the pairs "impurity atom - intrinsic point defect" taking into account the nonuniform distributions of nonequilibrium point defects and drift of the pairs in the field of elastic stresses is presented in the coordinate system associated with the moving surface of the growing epitaxial layer. The analytical solution of this equation for the low fluence ion implantation has been obtained.Comment: 3 pages, 2 figure

Effect of dietary fats on endogenous oleic acid biosynthesis in rat liver

    Get PDF
Aim: Determine the effect of dietary fats with different fatty acid composition on the biosynthesis of oleic acid and its metabolic precursors in the liver . Methods: High linoleic sunflower oil (HLSO), high oleic sunflower oil (HOSO) and palm oil (PO) were used. Rats were fed a semi-synthetic fat-free diet (FFD) and fat diets containing 5 % of the above oils (instead of starch) for 30 days. Liver lipids were divided into 3 fractions: neutral lipids (NL), phospholipids (PL) and free fatty acids (FFA). The fatty acid composition of the fractions was determined by gas chromatography. The “activity” of fatty acid synthase was determined from the total content of the products of this reaction (C16:0 and C16:1). The “activity” of palmitic acid elongase was determined by the ratio С18:0/С16:0, as well as by the formula (С18:0+С18:1)/(С16:0–С16:1). The “activity” of stearic acid desaturase (SCD1) was determined by the ratio C16:1/C16:0 (SCD16) and by the ratio C18:1/C18:0 (SCD18). Results: In rats treated with fat diets, the content of palmitic and oleic acids is reduced only in the NL fraction, and to the greatest extent when consuming the diet with HLSO. The “activity” of palmitic acid elongase increases significantly with the consumption of a diet with HLSO. SCD16 desaturase “activity” decreases with fat diet, while SCD18 desaturase “activity” increases. The level of SCD18 is significantly higher than the level of SCD16. Consumption of HLSO reduces the content of ω-3 PUFA in rat liver lipids, while the intake of HOSO increases it. Conclusions: HLSO diet reduces the endogenous biosynthesis of oleic and palmitic acids, as determined by the analysis of the rat liver NL fraction. A fat diet reduces SCD16 “activity” but increases SCD18 “activity”, especially when fed a diet with HOSO. The diet with HLSO reduces the content of ω-3 PUFA in liver lipids

ASSESSMENT OF THE NUTRITION STATUS OF INFANTS INSOUTH REGION V. I. Velichko, G. A. Danilchuk, L. I. Kolotvin, A. V. Chernetskaya  Odessa National Medical UniversityAbstractRelevance. Unbalanced nutrition in early childhood often leads to disruption of the state of children's health, including mental retardation, disturbance of the mechanisms of adaptation and reduction of immunological protection. The study and evaluation of actual nutrition of infants and its impact on the health and development of infants will develop the necessary guidance for parents and for doctors. Objective: to study the prevalence of breastfeeding among infants living in the southern regions of Ukraine (Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson regions). Results. The complex analysis of actual nutrition of young children, the data on the timing of applying the child to her breast and supplemental foods mixtures in hospital, duration of breastfeeding, the frequency of inclusion in the nutrition nursing mother and baby cow's milk and dairy products. Conclusions. It was found that the prevalence of breastfeeding is insufficient, there is a lack of awareness of the principles of women breastfeeding, 33.8% of children finish feeding mixture in the maternity hospital. Key words: children aged 0-12 months, the actual nutrition, diet, duration of breastfeeding

The boundary-value problem on impurity and point defect diffusion in the 2-layer semiconductor structure was formulated and analyzed. The analytical solution of the set of equations describing diffusion of intrinsic point defects was obtained for the case of the constant coefficients of these equations. Calculation of the typical distribution of point defects in the 2-layer structure was carried out

Mechanisms of arsenic clustering in silicon

A model of arsenic clustering in silicon is proposed and analyzed. The main feature of the proposed model is the assumption that negatively charged arsenic complexes play a dominant role in the clustering process. To confirm this assumption, electron density and concentration of impurity atoms incorporated into the clusters are calculated as functions of the total arsenic concentration. A number of the negatively charged clusters incorporating a point defect and one or more arsenic atoms are investigated. It is shown that for the doubly negatively charged clusters or for clusters incorporating more than one arsenic atom the electron density reaches a maximum value and then monotonically and slowly decreases as total arsenic concentration increases. In the case of doubly negatively charged cluster incorporating two arsenic atoms, the calculated electron density agrees well with the experimental data. Agreement with the experiment confirms the conclusion that two arsenic atoms participate in the cluster formation. Among all present models, the proposed model of clustering by formation of doubly negatively charged cluster incorporating two arsenic atoms gives the best fit to the experimental data and can be used in simulation of high concentration arsenic diffusion.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures. Tunable coaxial cavity resonator for linear and nonlinear microwave characterization of superconducting wires

    Get PDF
We discuss experimental results obtained using a tunable cylindrical coaxial cavity constituted by an outer Cu cylinder and an inner Pb-BSCCO wire. We have used this device for investigating the microwave response of the superconducting wire, both in the linear and nonlinear regimes. In particular, by tuning the different modes of the cavity to make them resonant at exactly harmonic frequencies, we have detected the power emitted by the superconducting inner wire at the second- and third-harmonic frequency of the driving field. The results obtained in the nonlinear regime, whether for the microwave surface impedance or the harmonic emission, are qualitatively accounted for considering intergrain fluxon dynamics. The use of this kind of device can be of strong interest to investigate and characterise wires of large dimensions to be used for implementing superconducting-based microwave devices.Comment: 14 pages, 6 embedded figures, accepted for publication in Supercond.
