    Multi-strange particle production in relativistic heavy ion collisions at sNN=62.4\sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4 GeV

    We present preliminary STAR results on measurements of multi-strange particles Ξ\Xi, Ω\Omega and their anti-particles from Au+Au and Cu+Cu at sNN=62.4\sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4 GeV collisions. In order to better understand the role of strangeness enhancement in nucleus-nucleus collisions and its scaling properties with system size, we compare the results from Au+Au and Cu+Cu reactions for different event centrality classes. Strangeness enhancement is discussed in the context of multi-strange to pion ratios. Finally, Ω/ϕ\Omega/\phi ratio is shown for different systems and energies for a systematic study

    Transmission Of Optical Coherent State Qubits

    We discuss the long distance transmission of qubits encoded in optical coherent states. Through absorption these qubits suffer from two main types of errors, the reduction of the amplitude of the coherent states and accidental application of the Pauli Z operator.     Entanglement Purification of Any Stabilizer State

    We present a method for multipartite entanglement purification of any stabilizer state shared by several parties. In our protocol each party measures the stabilizer operators of a quantum error-correcting code on his or her qubits. The parties exchange their measurement results, detect or correct errors, and decode the desired purified state. We give sufficient conditions on the stabilizer codes that may be used in this procedure and find that Steane's seven-qubit code is the smallest error-correcting code sufficient to purify any stabilizer state. An error-detecting code that encodes two qubits in six can also be used to purify any stabilizer state.
