Keskoslasten vanhempien vertaistuki ja parisuhteen tukeminen -Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliitto

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliiton Satakunnan piirille tietoa siitä, millaiseksi keskoslasten vanhemmat kokevat yhdistykseltä saamansa vertaistuen. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli saada Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliiton Satakunnan piirille kehittämisideoita, joiden avulla järjestö voisi kehittää keskosvanhemmille tarkoitetun vertaistukiryhmän toimintaa. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin kvalitatiivisena eli laadullisena tutkimuksena. Tilaajan toiveesta aineistonkeruumenetelmäksi valittiin kyselylomake, joka jaettiin keskosvanhempien suljetussa Facebook -ryhmässä. Tällä mahdollistettiin se, että myös ne vanhemmat jotka eivät käy ryhmän fyysisissä tapaamisissa pääsivät vastaamaan kyselyyn. Kyselylomakkeen avulla selvitettiin keskosvanhempien vertaistukiryhmän toimintaan osallistuvien vanhempien kokemuksia siitä, miten vertaistuki on vaikuttanut vanhempien väliseen parisuhteeseen, lapsen kehitykseen sekä perheen arkielämään. Lisäksi vanhemmilta haluttiin saada mahdollisia kehittämisideoita ryhmän toimintaan. Kysely jaettiin keskosvanhempien suljetussa Facebook -ryhmässä 25.11.2016 ja vastausaikaa annettiin 2 viikkoa. Vastausten vähäisen määrän vuoksi opinnäytetyön tekijät päättivät yhdessä ohjaavan opettajansa kanssa ottaa yhteyttä aiemmin vertaistukiryhmälle kiinnostuksensa kertoneeseen Kevyt -yhdistykseen, jonka Lahdessa toimiva ryhmä lähti mukaan 6.2.2017 opinnäytetyöhön. Satakunnan piiriltä vastauksia saatiin yhteensä kolme kappaletta. Saatujen tulosten perusteella vanhemmat kertoivat saaneensa vertaistukiryhmästä hyviä ja käytännönläheisiä vinkkejä arkeen ja lapsen erilaisen kehityksen ymmärtämiseen. Osa vanhemmista piti vertaisten kanssa keskustelua tärkeänä voimavarana, jonka ansiosta parisuhde ei kuormitu liikaa.The purpose of this thesis was to investigate parents’ experiences of peer support as the parents of premature babies. The parents were part of the peer support group for premature babies’ parents at Mannerheim Union for Child Welfare in Satakunta`s area. The goal of this thesis was to produce information, how to develop peer support group`s action. This thesis was carried out as an qualitive research. The material was collected with questinary, which was wish from the thesis orderer and was shared out at the peer support group`s closed Facebook -group. This made possible that also the parents got to take part of the questinary who haven`t taken part to groups physical meetings. The questinary had questions of how peer support have had influence to the relationship between parents, the develop of the premature baby and the everyday life of the family. Also, the writers of this thesis wanted to know what the parents would want from the peer support in future, what`s good and what`s not. The questionary was shared out at the Facebook -group at the 25th of December 2016 and the response time was two weeks. Because of the low number of answers the thesis writers and directive teacher decided to take another organization called Kevyt into the thesis. Kevyt is a union for parents of premature babies in Helsinki. Kevyt had related to the directive of the peer support group in Satakunta and expressed its attraction to the thesis. We started to work with Kevyt`s peer support group in Lahti at the 6th of February 2017. We got only three answers from Satakunta`s peer support group for the parents of premature babies. By the information we got, the parents told that they got good and practical tips to their everyday life from the peer support group. They also understand their child`s different development better.
