    This paper presents the effect of carrageenan (CG) on some characteristics and drug release of allopurinol in the presence of polyethylene oxide (PEO) as a dispersion aid agent. The samples were prepared in film shape by solution method, in which, the content of PEO was changed from 1 wt.% to 5 wt.% and the content of allopurinol was fixed at 10 wt.% in comparison with carrageenan weight. FTIR , FESEM, UV-Vis methods were used to evaluate characterizations and morphology of CG/PEO/allopurinol films

    On how religions could accidentally incite lies and violence: folktales as a cultural transmitter

    Folklore has a critical role as a cultural transmitter, all the while being a socially accepted medium for the expressions of culturally contradicting wishes and conducts. In this study of Vietnamese folktales, through the use of Bayesian multilevel modeling and the Markov chain Monte Carlo technique, we offer empirical evidence for how the interplay between religious teachings (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism) and deviant behaviors (lying and violence) could affect a folktale’s outcome. The findings indicate that characters who lie and/or commit violent acts tend to have bad endings, as intuition would dictate, but when they are associated with any of the above Three Teachings, the final endings may vary. Positive outcomes are seen in cases where characters associated with Confucianism lie and characters associated with Buddhism act violently. The results supplement the worldwide literature on discrepancies between folklore and real-life conduct, as well as on the contradictory human behaviors vis-à-vis religious teachings. Overall, the study highlights the complexity of human decision-making, especially beyond the folklore realm

    FACTORS INFLUENCING THE INTENTION TO USE MOBILE MONEY: A STUDY IN BUSINESSES IN HANOI, VIETNAM

    Abstract The government's and people's expectations for the successful implementation of this activity are significant, but the scientific basis for its implementation remains limited. This study, the first of its kind in Vietnam since the aforementioned decision, aims to clarify the factors influencing consumer usage of Mobile Money, focusing on businesses in Hanoi, Vietnam. Mobile Money, a form of mobile wallet not linked to bank accounts, represents a new transaction method in Vietnam, catering to consumers' reduced use of cash. This research examines the factors affecting the intention to use Mobile Money among employees of businesses in Hanoi. To achieve this goal, the author relies on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and risk perception variables to design the research model. With a sample of 479 employees who intend to use Mobile Money, hypotheses are tested using a multivariate regression model through quantitative analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0. The research results identify five factors that positively influence the intention to use Mobile Money: Perceived Ease of Use, Trust, Security and Privacy, Social Influence, and COVID-19 Risk Perception. The factor of Perceived Usefulness does not have a significant impact in this case. Particularly, heightened risk perception regarding COVID-19 or social instability leads to an increased intention to use Mobile Money. This study provides guidance to Mobile Money service providers on how to enhance users' intention to use their services. Additionally, it underscores how factors related to diseases or societal instability can alter or even disrupt initial intention or behavior models

    ABSTRACT - QMFS2019Collagen from fish is attracting a lot of attention thanks to its high absorbance ability, biocompatibility as well as non-religious obstruction and cheap sources. It could be applied in many fields, for example: food, cosmetic, or biomedicine. Using of collagen also helps to reduce the environment pollution from fish scale waste in fish processing. In this study, collagen extracted from Vietnamese fresh-water tilapia fish scales was used in combination with carrageenan for the improvement of drug release control. The influence of fish scale collagen content on morphology, thermal behavior and drug release from carrageenan/collagen/allopurinol composite film was evaluated by methods such as field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). From the DSC data, FESEM analysis and drug release of carrageenan/collagen/allopurinol composite films, the most suitable collagen in composite film is 5 wt.%

    Our article tackles the timely and important issue of the university collaboration aimed at shaping up the sustainable urban areas and contributing to their development through the teaching and research. Universities provided qualified labour force, yield novel research solutions and act as hubs for entrepreneurial activity in urban areas. In this article, we show that even though most of the universities are concentrated in large urban centres and capital regions, many of them are located in small rural areas and have a profound effect on them. We also demonstrate the impact of universities on the sustainable development which is done through the sustainable education as well as the R&D approaches. These effects are very relevant for the co-designing of sustainable rural areas that can follow the principles of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the green policies imposed by the majority of the local and central governments around the world

    Enterococcus and Streptococcus spp. associated with chronic and self-medicated urinary tract infections in Vietnam

    BACKGROUND: Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the most common infections among women worldwide. E. coli often causes more than 75% of acute uncomplicated UTI, however, little is known about how recurrent UTIs and indiscriminate use of antimicrobials affect the aetiology of UTIs. This study aimed to establish the aetiology of UTI in a population of recurrent and self-medicated patients referred from pharmacies to a hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam and to describe genotypes and antimicrobial susceptibility of the associated bacterial pathogens. The aetiology of bacterial pathogens associated with UTI (defined as ≥ 10(4) CFU/ml urine) was established by phenotypic and molecular methods. Enterococcus faecalis isolates were typed by Multi Locus Sequence Typing (MLST), Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. METHODS: Urine samples from 276 patients suffering symptoms of urinary tract infection were collected and cultured on Flexicult agar® allowing for detection of the most common urine pathogens. Patients were interviewed about underlying diseases, duration of symptoms, earlier episodes of UTI, number of episodes diagnosed by doctors and treatment in relation to UTI. All tentative E. faecalis and E. faecium isolates were identified to species level by PCR, 16S rRNA and partial sequencing of the groEL gene. E. faecalis isolates were further characterized by Multi Locus Sequence Typing and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. RESULTS: Mean age of 49 patients was 48 yrs (range was 11–86 yrs) and included 94% women. On average, patients reported to have suffered from UTI for 348 days (range 3 days-10 years, and experienced 2.7 UTIs during the previous year). Cephalosporins were reported the second drug of choice in treatment of UTI at the hospital. E. faecalis (55.1%), E. coli (12.2%) and Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus (8.2%) were main bacterial pathogens. MIC testing of E. faecalis showed susceptibility to ampicillin, penicillin and vancomycin, but high-level resistance against gentamicin (48.1%). MLST revealed 12 Sequence Types (ST) of which ST 16 made up 44.5% and showed closely related PFGE types. CONCLUSION: The different aetiology of UTI compared with reports elsewhere, where E. coli dominates, may be a result of chronic and recurrent UTIs together with indiscriminate use of antimicrobials. The similar genotypes shown by epidemiologically unrelated ST 16 isolates in Vietnam and elsewhere, suggest that E. faecalis ST 16 might represent a globally distributed clone. Treatment of UTI with cephalosporins may select for E. faecalis as it is intrinsic resistant and further studies are needed to establish the source(s) and role of E. faecalis ST 16 in acute UTI

    Generalized Mittag-Leffler function method for solving Lorenz system

    In this paper, generalizations Mittag-Leffler function method is applied to solve approximate and analytical solutions of nonlinear fractional differential equation systems such as lorenz system of fractional oreder, and compared the results with the results of Homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and Variational iteration method (VIM) in the standard integer order form. The reason of using fractional order differential equations (FOD) is that fractional order differential equations are naturally related to systems with memory which exists in most systems. Also they are closely related to fractals which are abundant in systems. The results derived of the fractional system are of a more general nature. Respectively, solutions of fractional order differential equations spread at a faster rate than the classical differential equations, and may exhibit asymmetry. A few numerical methods for fractional differential equations models have been presented in the literature. However many of these methods are used for very specific types of differential equations, often just linear equations or even smaller classes put the results generalizations Mittag-Leffler function method show the high accuracy and efficiency of the approach.     Enhanced photocatalytic activity of SnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite synthesized using sonochemistry method

    The SnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposite materials were successfully synthesized via the solid reaction and sonochemistry methods. The properties of the obtained product were investigated using several methods: X-ray diffraction, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and Scanning electron microscope. The photocatalytic properties of the samples were evaluated through the photodegradation of Rhodamine B solution. The results demonstrate that the SnO2/g-C3N4 prepared by the sonochemistry method exhibits higher photocatalytic activity than that prepared by the solid reaction method. This enhanced photocatalytic activity is attributed to the formation of heterostructures between SnO2 and g-C3N4 materials, resulting in the efficient separation of photo-generated electron-hole pairs. Furthermore, the nanocomposite exhibits a larger specific surface area compared to the product obtained through the solid reaction method

    Polypyrrole-based nanocomposites doped with both salicylate/molybdate and graphene oxide for enhanced corrosion resistance on low-carbon steel

    In this work, polypyrrole-based nanocomposites doped with graphene oxide, molybdate, and salicylate (PPy/GO/Mo/Sal) were synthesized via in situ electrochemical polymerization to enhance the anti-corrosion protection performance of polymer coatings. The morphology and structures of the coatings were characterized by SEM, EDX, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, and XRD. The protection abilities of coatings against corrosion were investigated in 0.1 M NaCl solution with EIS potentiodynamic polarization, salt spray test, and open-circuit potential (OCP) measurements. The results showed that with the presence of both molybdate/salicylate and GO in the PPy matrix, the nanocomposite coating exhibited an excellent protection ability against corrosion for low-carbon steel, better than that with only GO as filler. Compared to the nanocomposites doped with only salicylate or salicylate/GO, the one doped with both molybdate/salicylate and GO exhibited the longest protection plateau (ca. 100 h) on the OCP-time curves with some fluctuation points known as the self-healing action of molybdate dopant. It also resulted in a decrease in the corrosion current (Tafel plots), a higher impedance (Bode plot), and a better protection performance in salt spray tests. In this case, the anti-corrosion ability of the coatings was provided through a barrier and self-healing mechanism
