    Diversidade de Parasitóides (Hymenoptera: Braconidae e Figitidae) de larvas frugívoras (Diptera: Tephritidae e Lonchaeidae) na Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke, Amazônia Ocidental, Manaus, Brasil

    This study aimed to identify parasitoid species of frugivorous larvae and to describe the tritrophic interactions involving wild fruits, frugivorous insects and their natural enemies at Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve (RFAD) (Manaus, AM, Brazil). Collections were performed in four 1 km2 quadrants in the corners of the RFAD. The wild fruits were collected inside the forest in access trails leading to each collection area and in trails that surrounded the quadrants, up to five metres from the trail on each side. The fruits were placed in plastic containers covered with thin fabric, with a vermiculite layer on the base to allow the emergence of flies or parasitoids. Seven Braconidae species were collected, distributed among Opiinae: Doryctobracon areolatus (Szépligeti, 1911), Utetes anastrephae (Viereck, 1913), and Opius sp., and Alysiinae: Asobara anastrephae (Muesebeck, 1958), Phaenocarpa pericarpa Wharton and Carrejo, 1999, Idiasta delicata Papp, 1969, and Asobara sp. Parasitism rates by braconids and figitids are presented. Doryctobracon areolatus was the most frequent, parasitizing the highest number of fly species, and showing the highest parasitism percentage in larvae feeding on Micropholis williamii fruits. The collected figitids belong to Aganaspis nordlanderi Wharton, 1998 and A. pelleranoi (Brethes, 1924). All 15 tritrophic associations are new records for the Brazilian Amazon region.     Zika Virus Infection of Murine and Human Neutrophils and their Function as Trojan Horses to the Placenta

    ABSTRACTZIKV is a 11Kb positive stranded flavivirus transmitted by infected Aedes aegypti and by sexual intercourse. After a short period of viremia of 5-7 days, the virus is cleared, and infection resolved in 80% of individuals. However, around 27% of the fetuses from pregnant infected mothers may develop several fetal brain and ocular pathology. Here we show that murine and peripheral blood human neutrophils support ZIKV infection and replication both in vitro and in vivo, which may correlate to the facilitation of vertical transmission. ZIKV did not interfere with cell viability, neither induced ROS production nor the release of NETs by infected neutrophils. Also, ZIKV infection of neutrophils did not trigger a pro-inflammatory profile, as evidenced by qPCR and proteomic analysis. Interestingly, ZIKV-infected neutrophils were isolated from the placenta were highly infected. The transference of in vitro ZIKV-infected neutrophils to pregnant female mice favored the transference of viral particles to the fetus. Conversely, neutrophil depletion with monoclonal antibodies reduced fetal viral loads whereas the treatment with recombinant G-CSF has the opposite effect. In summary, although it has already been shown that circulating monocytes harbor ZIKV, to our knowledge, this is the first report demonstrating the role of neutrophils during ZIKV infection, and most important, that it may act as a trojan horse to placental tissue directly impacting the pathogenesis of congenital syndrome.</jats:p

    OBJETIVO: definir medidas aerodinâmicas em falantes do português brasileiro, sem queixas vocais, obtidas pelo programa EVA. MÉTODO: participaram do estudo 20 homens e 20 mulheres, que tiveram suas vozes analisadas. RESULTADOS: os valores médios referentes à pressão subglótica para vozes femininas e masculinas foram, respectivamente: Pressão subglótica= 5,84 hPa e 6,7 hPa, média da intensidade= 79,21 dB e 81,7 dB, média do fluxo oral= 0,09 dm³/s e 0,16 dm³/s, eficiência glótica= 13,87 dB/hPa e 12,78 dB/hPa, eficiência laríngea= 188,08 dB/(hPa.dm³/s) e 97,11 dB/(hPa.dm³/s), resistência laríngea= 96,26 hPa/(dm³/s) e 52,64 hPa/(dm³/s), média da frequência fundamental (F0)= 208,28 Hz e 136,56 Hz e pico da pressão do fluxo oral= 0,093 e 0,098. Houve diferença estatisticamente significante em relação ao gênero para as medidas de média de intensidade, eficiência laríngea, resistência laríngea e média da frequência fundamental. Os valores médios referentes ao fluxo oral para vozes femininas e masculinas foram respectivamente: Pressão subglótica= 6,05 hPa e 6,6 hPa, média da intensidade= 65,50 dB e 66,3 dB, média do fluxo oral= 0,10 dm³/s e 0,13 dm³/s, eficiência glótica= 11,12 dB/hPa e 11,77 dB/hPa, eficiência laríngea= 144,83 dB/(hPa.dm³/s) e 97,89 dB/(hPa.dm³/s), resistência laríngea= 78,98 hPa/(dm³/s) e 61,81 hPa/(dm³/s), média da F0= 222,52 Hz e 139,20 Hz e pico da pressão do fluxo oral= 0,047 e 0,053. CONCLUSÃO: o EVA é um programa ainda novo no Brasil, e a análise de medidas aerodinâmicas, em falantes do português brasileiro, permite a obtenção de valores de referência, possibilitando assim comparações com estudos futuros.<br>PURPOSE: to define aerodynamic measures in Brazilian Portuguese speakers without voice complaints, obtained by the EVA program.     Finger Kazoo: modificações vocais acústicas espectrográficas e autoavaliação vocal

    Objetivo correlacionar modificações vocais acústicas espectrográficas e autoavaliação após o finger kazoo. Métodos análise de /a:/ de 46 mulheres sem queixas vocais ou afecções laríngeas pelo Real Time Spectrogram® e autoavaliação antes (Momento 1 – M1), após o finger kazoo (Momento 2 – M2) e após cinco minutos de silêncio (Momento 3 – M3). Teste Kappa, Qui-quadrado, Spearman. Resultados melhora da intensidade do escurecimento do traçado dos formantes (F) e das altas frequências, regularidade do traçado e definição dos harmônicos. Melhora na autoavaliação vocal, conforme aumento da intensidade do escurecimento do traçado de F3, da definição do traçado, do número de harmônicos e redução da substituição de harmônicos por ruídos nas médias frequências. Conclusões após o finger kazoo, aumentou a intensidade da cor do traçado, a regularidade e definição nas espectrografias e houve melhora na autoavaliação vocal
