Three point SUSY Ward identities without Ghosts
We utilise a non-local gauge transform which renders the entire action of
SUSY QED invariant and respects the SUSY algebra modulo the gauge-fixing
condition, to derive two- and three-point ghost-free SUSY Ward identities in
SUSY QED. We use the cluster decomposition principle to find the Green's
function Ward identities and then takes linear combinations of the latter to

Spin-Polarized Transport Across an LaSrMnO/YBaCuO Interface: Role of Andreev Bound States
Transport across an
LaSr_{3}/YBa_{3}_{7}_{3}$/YBCO and Ag/YBCO. In all cases, YBCO is used as bottom layer to
eliminate the channel resistance and to minimize thermal effects. The observed
differential conductance re ects the role of Andreev bound states in a-b
planes, and brings out for the first time the suppression of such states by the
spin-polarized transport across the interface. The theoretical analysis of the
measured data reveals decay of the spin polarization near the LSMO surface with

Graviton production from extra dimensions
Graviton production due to collapsing extra dimensions is studied. The
momenta lying in the extra dimensions are taken into account. A -dimensional
background is matched to an effectively four-dimensional standard radiation
dominated universe. Using observational constraints on the present
gravitational wave spectrum, a bound on the maximal temperature at the
beginning of the radiation era is derived. This expression depends on the
number of extra dimensions, as well as on the -dimensional Planck mass.

Endemic fungal infections in solid organ and hematopoietic cell transplant recipients enrolled in the TransplantâAssociated Infection Surveillance Network ( TRANSNET )
Background Invasive fungal infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality among solid organ transplant ( SOT ) and hematopoietic cell transplant ( HCT ) recipients, but few data have been reported on the epidemiology of endemic fungal infections in these populations. Methods Fifteen institutions belonging to the TransplantâAssociated Infection Surveillance Network prospectively enrolled SOT and HCT recipients with histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, or coccidioidomycosis occurring between March 2001 and March 2006. Results A total of 70 patients (64 SOT recipients and 6 HCT recipients) had infection with an endemic mycosis, including 52 with histoplasmosis, 9 with blastomycosis, and 9 with coccidioidomycosis. The 12âmonth cumulative incidence rate among SOT recipients for histoplasmosis was 0.102%. Occurrence of infection was bimodal; 28 (40%) infections occurred in the first 6Â months post transplantation, and 24 (34%) occurred between 2 and 11Â years post transplantation. Three patients were documented to have acquired infection from the donor organ. Seven SOT recipients with histoplasmosis and 3 with coccidioidomycosis died (16%); no HCT recipient died. Conclusions This 5âyear multicenter prospective surveillance study found that endemic mycoses occur uncommonly in SOT and HCT recipients, and that the period at risk extends for years after transplantation.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/106980/1/tid12186.pd
Gravitational excitons from extra dimensions
Inhomogeneous multidimensional cosmological models with a higher dimensional
space-time manifold are investigated under dimensional reduction. In the
Einstein conformal frame, small excitations of the scale factors of the
internal spaces near minima of an effective potential have a form of massive
scalar fields in the external space-time. Parameters of models which ensure
minima of the effective potentials are obtained for particular cases and masses

ZEPLIN-II is a two-phase (liquid/gas) xenon dark matter detector searching
for WIMP-nucleon interactions. In this paper we describe the data acquisition
system used to record the data from ZEPLIN-II and the reduction procedures

Calculation of two-loop virtual corrections to b --> s l+ l- in the standard model
We present in detail the calculation of the virtual O(alpha_s) corrections to
the inclusive semi-leptonic rare decay b --> s l+ l-. We also include those
O(alpha_s) bremsstrahlung contributions which cancel the infrared and mass
singularities showing up in the virtual corrections. In order to avoid large
resonant contributions, we restrict the invariant mass squared s of the lepton
pair to the range 0.05 < s/mb^2 < 0.25. The analytic results are represented as
expansions in the small parameters s/mb^2, z = mc^2/mb^2 and s/(4 mc^2). The
new contributions drastically reduce the renormalization scale dependence of
the decay spectrum. For the corresponding branching ratio (restricted to the
above s-range) the renormalization scale uncertainty gets reduced from +/-13%

Light-cone QCD Sum Rules for the Baryon Electromagnetic Form Factors and its magnetic moment
We present the light-cone QCD sum rules up to twist 6 for the electromagnetic
form factors of the baryon. To estimate the magnetic moment of the
baryon, the magnetic form factor is fitted by the dipole formula. The numerical
value of our estimation is , which is in
accordance with the experimental data and the existing theoretical results. We
find that it is twist 4 but not the leading twist distribution amplitudes that

An action for the exact string black hole
A local action is constructed describing the exact string black hole
discovered by Dijkgraaf, Verlinde and Verlinde in 1992. It turns out to be a
special 2D Maxwell-dilaton gravity theory, linear in curvature and field
strength. Two constants of motion exist: mass M>1, determined by the level k,
and U(1)-charge Q>0, determined by the value of the dilaton at the origin. ADM
mass, Hawking temperature T_H \propto \sqrt{1-1/M} and Bekenstein-Hawking
entropy are derived and studied in detail. Winding/momentum mode duality
implies the existence of a similar action, arising from a branch ambiguity,
which describes the exact string naked singularity. In the strong coupling
limit the solution dual to AdS_2 is found to be the 5D Schwarzschild black
hole. Some applications to black hole thermodynamics and 2D string theory are
discussed and generalizations - supersymmetric extension, coupling to matter
