Test, Reliability and Functional Safety Trends for Automotive System-on-Chip

    Get PDF
This paper encompasses three contributions by industry professionals and university researchers. The contributions describe different trends in automotive products, including both manufacturing test and run-time reliability strategies. The subjects considered in this session deal with critical factors, from optimizing the final test before shipment to market to in-field reliability during operative life

Operator theory and function theory in Drury-Arveson space and its quotients

The Drury-Arveson space Hd2H^2_d, also known as symmetric Fock space or the dd-shift space, is a Hilbert function space that has a natural dd-tuple of operators acting on it, which gives it the structure of a Hilbert module. This survey aims to introduce the Drury-Arveson space, to give a panoramic view of the main operator theoretic and function theoretic aspects of this space, and to describe the universal role that it plays in multivariable operator theory and in Pick interpolation theory.Comment: Final version (to appear in Handbook of Operator Theory); 42 page

Software for the frontiers of quantum chemistry:An overview of developments in the Q-Chem 5 package

    Get PDF
This article summarizes technical advances contained in the fifth major release of the Q-Chem quantum chemistry program package, covering developments since 2015. A comprehensive library of exchange–correlation functionals, along with a suite of correlated many-body methods, continues to be a hallmark of the Q-Chem software. The many-body methods include novel variants of both coupled-cluster and configuration-interaction approaches along with methods based on the algebraic diagrammatic construction and variational reduced density-matrix methods. Methods highlighted in Q-Chem 5 include a suite of tools for modeling core-level spectroscopy, methods for describing metastable resonances, methods for computing vibronic spectra, the nuclear–electronic orbital method, and several different energy decomposition analysis techniques. High-performance capabilities including multithreaded parallelism and support for calculations on graphics processing units are described. Q-Chem boasts a community of well over 100 active academic developers, and the continuing evolution of the software is supported by an “open teamware” model and an increasingly modular design

Brake Current Control System Modeling Using Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and Proportional Integral Derivative (PID)

This paper provides a comparative analysis between PID control as a classical control technique and modern control technique in the dinamometer Eddy current brakes system. Eddy current brakes is a modern braking system that requires a control system to support the braking performance. PID control is often used to be implemented but in some conditions it is less optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a modern and optimal control, such as a full state feedback Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR). The comparison of the braking time responses were simulated using Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results show that the response of LQR control is better than the PID, with Ts = 2.12 seconds, Tr = 1.18 seconds, and without overshoot. On the other side, PID control, although having Ts = 0.27 seconds and Tr = 0.18 seconds, there is still an overshoot about 0.7%

Effect Of Water Jet Nozzle Lead Angle On Descaling Efficiency

    No full text
Nozzle design, water pressure, and lead angle are critical for efficient descaling. In the industry, scale removal through water jet descaling using a nozzle lead angle of 15° is considered as optimal. However, variations in scale removal efficiency were not quantified. Experiments were performed using a laboratory CNC-controlled descaling system. Low- alloy steel plates were reheated at 1065°C in an atmosphere-controlled induction furnace and then descaled using two nozzle types and three attack angles in all cases. Statistical characterization of residual oxide coverage was performed using SEM analysis in a cross-section of the plate. Recommendations to increase descaling efficiency are presented
