DANSSino: a pilot version of the DANSS neutrino detector
DANSSino is a reduced pilot version of a solid-state detector of reactor
antineutrinos (to be created within the DANSS project and installed under the
industrial 3 GW(th) reactor of the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant -- KNPP).
Numerous tests performed at a distance of 11 m from the reactor core
demonstrate operability of the chosen design and reveal the main sources of the
background. In spite of its small size (20x20x100 ccm), the pilot detector
turned out to be quite sensitive to reactor antineutrinos, detecting about 70
IBD events per day with the signal-to-background ratio about unity.Comment: 16 pages, 11 figures, 3 tables. arXiv admin note: substantial text

Search for sterile neutrinos at the DANSS experiment
DANSS is a highly segmented 1~m plastic scintillator detector. Its 2500
one meter long scintillator strips have a Gd-loaded reflective cover. The DANSS
detector is placed under an industrial 3.1~ reactor of the
Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant 350~km NW from Moscow. The distance to the core is
varied on-line from 10.7~m to 12.7~m. The reactor building provides about 50~m
water-equivalent shielding against the cosmic background. DANSS detects almost
5000 per day at the closest position with the cosmic
background less than 3. The inverse beta decay process is used to detect
. Sterile neutrinos are searched for assuming the model
(3 active and 1 sterile ). The exclusion area in the plane is obtained using a ratio of positron energy
spectra collected at different distances. Therefore results do not depend on
the shape and normalization of the reactor spectrum, as well
as on the detector efficiency. Results are based on 966 thousand antineutrino
events collected at 3 distances from the reactor core. The excluded area covers
a wide range of the sterile neutrino parameters up to
in the most sensitive region.Comment: 10 pages, 13 figures, version accepted for publicatio

For the first time, a complex of bismuth(III) with iodine and etioporphyrin II is reported. It was prepared by reacting etioporphyrin II and bismuth(III) iodide in pyridine in Ar atmosphere. The prepared compound was characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, UV-VIS spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. One intense line at m/z 684.990 attributed to the complex without the iodine atom is observed in the mass spectrum. This is in agreement with the data indicating that bismuthporphyrin complexes generally have low stability. Analysis of FT-IR spectra obtained at room temperature and at 145Β°Π‘ is reported. Priroda15 DFT package was used for optimization of complex geometry and calculation of the IR spectrum. Calculations were done using BPE functional and L1 basis set under relativistic approximation of Dyall Modified Dirac. Assignment of the vibrational frequencies is reported. Collected data indicate that the complex of bismuth(III) with iodine and etioporphyrin II is not stable and easily hydrolyses when exposed to air forming the corresponding hydroxocomplex. This transformation does not change significantly the dynamics of the porphyrin ring.ΠΠΏΠ΅ΡΠ²ΡΠ΅ ΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΡΠ΅Π½ ΠΊΠΎΠΌΠΏΠ»Π΅ΠΊΡ Π²ΠΈΡΠΌΡΡ(III) ΠΉΠΎΠ΄ ΡΡΠΈΠΎΠΏΠΎΡΡΠΈΡΠΈΠ½ II. Clinical Experience of Luminescent Diagnostics of Precancerous Diseases and Cervical Cancer
The article summarizes the experience of using luminescent diagnostics with the use of ytterbium porphyrin complexes in gynecology and oncology. A pharmaceutical composition based on the Yb complex of 2,4-dimethoxyhematoporphyrin IX was used as the luminescent markers within the infrared range. The determination of luminescence characteristics (luminescence intensity) was carried out using a laserfiber fluorimeter in the range of 900-1100 nm. A new method for diagnosis of cervical disease has been proposed. The method of luminescent diagnostics allows to conduct a survey of a large number of patients in a short time. The method of luminescent diagnostics using the ytterbium complexes of porphyrins is not invasive. The method can be used as a screening. Differences between normal and pathologically altered cervical tissue have been identified and differences between pathological changes in the cervix HSIL (CIN II, CIN III) and cervical cancer are reliable.

Bismuth and its compounds have been known since ancient times and now are widely used in practice in various fields. Bismuth use in medicine can be traced back to the Middle Ages, and its wide application is due to its very low toxicity - for most bismuth compounds it is less than for sodium chloride. Bismuth and its compounds, in particular salts, are used in medical practice in the treatment of diseases such as spirochetosis, gastric and duodenal ulcer, leishmaniasis and coronaviral infection, as well as in cancer therapy. In addition to solid preparations liquid peroral pharmaceutical forms have been developed for the treatment of diarrhea, colitis, ulcers etc. Bismuth preparations are used in stomatology for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of paradontium. The review considers the syntheses and properties of bismuth complexes with natural and synthetic porphyrins, which are used in medicine and other fields of science and technology. Considerable attention is paid to the structure features of bismuth porphyrins complexes, their dimeric structures, and the influence of various extra ligands. The counterion nature and structure make a substantial contribution in solving the problem of complexes stability. The central bismuth atom in these complexes extends far above the plane of the macrocycle due to the large ionic radius. Thus, the counterions action on the conformation, physicochemical properties and stability of metal porphyrins complexes is shown. A separate section is devoted to unique and interesting properties of bismuth porphyrins complexes, such as fluorescence and color variation of crystals.ΠΠ±Π·ΠΎΡ ΠΏΠΎΡΠ²ΡΡΠ΅Π½ ΠΈΡΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΠ·ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΡ Π²ΠΈΡΠΌΡΡΠ° ΠΈ Π΅Π³ΠΎ ΡΠΎΠ΅Π΄ΠΈΠ½Π΅Π½ΠΈΠΉ, Π² ΡΠ°ΡΡΠ½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ ΡΠΎΠ»Π΅ΠΉ, Π² ΠΌΠ΅Π΄ΠΈΡΠΈΠ½ΡΠΊΠΎΠΉ ΠΏΡΠ°ΠΊΡΠΈΠΊΠ΅ ΠΏΡΠΈ Π»Π΅ΡΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠΈ ΡΠ°ΠΊΠΈΡ

The present review is devoted to the 70th element of the Periodic system and its complexes with natural and synthetic porphyrins. The ytterbium combination with porphyrin compounds, which are able to accumulate selectively in malignant tumors, led to the creation of a new class of diagnostic compounds fluorescing in the NIRregion in a "window of tissues transparency". Syntheses of Yb-complexes of various porphyrins with the use of Yb(acac)3 in several solvents and microwave radiation are considered. Electronic absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra and luminescence decay curves are given, the lifetimes of excited Yb-complexes state are measured, and the influence of chromophore aromatic fragments in macrocycle meso-positions on quantum exits values is considered. The carried out screening of more than 20 compounds allowed to choose the most perspective substance for early luminescent diagnostics β dipotassium salt of Yb(acac)-dimethoxyhematoporphyrin IX. Biological tests on tumor-carrier mice are carried out, and primary preparation accumulation in malignant tumors is shown. This compound was used also for the functionalization of composite nanoparticles consisting of gold-silver nanocages covered with mesoporous silicon dioxide. Syntheses of bis-porphyrins with different elements, application of ytterbium compounds in biomedicine, technics, chemical reactions and etc. are considered.Π Π±Π·ΠΎΡ ΠΏΠΎΡΠ²ΡΡΠ΅Π½ ΠΎΠ΄Π½ΠΎΠΌΡ ΠΈΠ· ΡΠ»Π΅ΠΌΠ΅Π½ΡΠΎΠ² Π³ΡΡΠΏΠΏΡ Π»Π°Π½ΡΠ°Π½ΠΈΠ΄ΠΎΠ² - ΠΈΡΡΠ΅ΡΠ±ΠΈΡ, Π½Π΅ΠΊΠΎΡΠΎΡΡΠΌ Π΅Π³ΠΎ ΡΠΈΠ·ΠΈΠΊΠΎ-Ρ

High resolution manometry and new classification of esophageal motility disorders
Purpose of the review. To present application of Chicago classification criteria of esophageal motility disorders defined in high resolution manometry in clinical practice. Basic provisions. High-resolution manometry is the most exact hi-tech diagnostic method for esophageal motor function disorders according to Chicago classification v3.0. Uniqueness of the method consists in capacity to define integrated quantitative and qualitative metrics of esophageal contractile function and to establish their specific disorders e.g.: change of intrabolus pressure at disorders of esophagogastric junction (EGj) outflow, hypercontractile esophagus, fragmented contractions and weak or failed peristalsis, distal esophageal spasm. Assessment of the type of achalasia subtypes has significant impact on the patientsβ treatment choice. According to anatomical location of the lower esophageal sphincter and crural diaphragm several morphological types of gastro-esophageal junction are defined that determine severity of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Multiple rapid swallow responses during esophageal high-resolution manometry reflect esophageal body peristaltic reserve and is a predictor of postoperative complications. Differential diagnosis of belching type became possible at combined application of high-resolution manometry and impedance measurement. Conclusion. High-resolution manometry is a fundamental diagnostic test of esophageal motor function disorders. Clinical application of this method significantly expands diagnostic potential and allows to carry out personalized treatment that increases treatment quality
