    Estimation of Mean Time between Failures in Two Unit Parallel Repairable System

    Mean time between failures is a method for estimating the reliability parameters of any repairable system. MTBF is also helpful in performing decision analysis in parallel and series systems and subsystems. The MTBF is the reciprocal of the failure rate when each component which fails is replaced immediately with another having the identical failure rate. There are situations when the assumption of a constant failure rate is not realistic and in many of these situations one assumes instead that the failure rate function increases or decreases smoothly with time i.e. there are no discontinuity or turning points. In this paper, we have tried to estimate MTBF taking real failure rate in case of two unit parallel repairable system and study its consistency with either the initial or the last stage of the failure rate curve

    Design and Analysis of Fusion Algorithm for Multi-Frame Super-Resolution Image Reconstruction using Framelet

    A enhanced fusion algorithm for generating a super resolution image from a sequence of low-resolution images captured from identical scene apparently a video, based on framelet have been designed and analyzed. In this paper an improved analytical method of image registration is used which integrates nearest neighbor method and gradient method. Comparing to Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) the Framelet Transform (FrT) have tight frame filter bank that offers symmetry and permits shift in invariance. Therefore using framelet this paper also present a framelet based enhanced fusion for choosing the fused framelet co-efficient that provides detailed edges and good spatial information with adequate de-noising.     Development of multi-functional streetscape green infrastructure using a performance index approach

    This paper presents a performance evaluation framework for streetscape vegetation. A performance index (PI) is conceived using the following seven traits, specific to the street environments - Pollution Flux Potential (PFP), Carbon Sequestration Potential (CSP), Thermal Comfort Potential (TCP), Noise Attenuation Potential (NAP), Biomass Energy Potential (BEP), Environmental Stress Tolerance (EST) and Crown Projection Factor (CPF). Its application is demonstrated through a case study using fifteen streetvegetation species from the UK, utilising a combination of direct field measurements and inventoried literature data. Our results indicate greater preference to small-to-medium size trees and evergreen shrubs over larger trees for streetscaping. The proposed PI approach can be potentially applied two-fold: one, for evaluation of the performance of the existing street vegetation, facilitating the prospects for further improving them through management strategies and better species selection; two, for planning new streetscapes and multi-functional biomass as part of extending the green urban infrastructure

    Anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of different fractions of Boswellia serrata

    The study was designed to investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of different fractions of Boswellia serrata. The effect of different fractions of Boswellia serrata were studied using carrageenan induced paw edema, acetic acid induced writhing response, formalin induced pain, hot plate and tail flick method for studying anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity, respectively. The different fractions of B. serrata, essential oil (10 ml/kg), gum (100 mg/kg, resin (100 mg/kg) oleo-resin (100 mg/kg) and oleo-gum-resin (100 mg/kg) significantly reduces carrageenan induced inflammation in rats and shows analgesic activity, as determined by acetic acid induced writhing response, formalin induced pain, hot plate and tail flick method. The different fractions of B. serrata showed prompt anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity due to the inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase enzyme.Keywords: Analgesic; Boswellia serrata; Inflammation; 5- lipoxygenase; Burseraceae

Notably, herbs exhibit vasodilatory effects, contributing to blood pressure regulation, and harbor potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that collectively mitigate oxidative stress and inflammation within the cardiovascular milieu. Ginkgo Biloba is notable for its capacity to improve circulation, and turmeric demonstrates powerful anti-inflammatory properties. The chapter also looks at herbal medicine's potential as an intervention for regulating fluid balance, arrhythmias, and hypertension. Examined is the potential for resveratrol-rich plants and green tea to protect against heart disease. Along with considerations for safety, interactions, and future study, the symbiotic relationship between stress reduction, adaptogenic herbs, and heart health is also discussed in this article.
