    Get PDF
Due to the globalisation of the world economy and development of transnational corporations, vertically integrated companies have to use a wide range of innovation opportunities spanning the entire value chain in order to maintain market positions. Thus, such companies need to constantly and timely monitor changes influencing the innovation potential. The study proposes a new methodology for assessing the innovation potential of vertically integrated companies (VICs) and affecting factors. The implementation of the principle of continuity across the value chains of vertically integrated companies ensures the integrity and reliability of research results. Statistical data of seven VICs of the Volga Federal District for 2017 were analysed. Using the proposed methodology, we determined aggregate factors, ranked them and revealed their stimulating and disincentive effects on the innovation potential of VICs. Additionally, the study identified mechanisms for the efficient use of such potential across the value chains for strengthening the socio-economic development of regions. The analysis was performed based on the integrated use of structural, functional, generalisation, correlation and regression, statistical and economic, and expert assessment methods. It explained the distribution of factors and their correlation dependencies. The quantitative evaluation of presented factors demonstrated their varying impact on the innovation potential of vertically integrated companies. The research results can be used for developing regional strategies aimed at the improvement of company performance and economic crisis resolution

Multicolored silica coated CdSe core/shell quantum dots

    Get PDF
Silanization is a convenient route to provide water-solubility to the quantum dots (QDs) with different structure. Green, orange and red emitting CdSe-based QDs were synthesized by varying of number and material of wider-band gap shells and fluorescent properties of QDs were characterized before and after silanization. It was shown that structure of the QD influences on the quantum yield of the silanized QDs: the better CdSe core is protected with wider-band gap semiconductor shells, the more fluorescence properties remain after silica coated QD possess. Hence silica coated QDs have a great perspectives for the multiplex analysis

CONTACT OF MULTI-LEVEL PERIODIC SYSTEM OF INDENTERS WITH COATED ELASTIC HALF-SPACE

    Get PDF
The contact of a periodic system of spherical indenters of different heights and radii of curvature with two-layered elastic half-space is considered. Numerical-analytical method is developed to determine contact pressure distribution and internal stresses taking into account mutual effect of contact spots. The results for relatively hard and soft coatings are analyzed for different values of input parameters: nominal pressure, contact density, coating thickness

The urban environment of Italy in prose of W. D. Howells

The Italian experiences of an American writer of the late nineteenth century, William Dean Howells (1837-1920) reflected in travelogues provide researchers of literature the opportunity to study the genesis of his work in the paradigm of the culture of the United States. Accompanying him throughout life, they were the aesthetic basis for literary work of Howells. The influence of Italian works of art and literature can be seen in the choice of the individual style of the writer. Of special interest is the influence of the process of the creative development of American writer on his attitude to changing environment in the capital and the provincial towns of Italy. The topicality of this work is associated with the peculiarities of artistic interpretations of the different cultural environment through the author's perception of reality. The mental concept of "another" life, the recognition of the specificity of the foreign country" often take place in the process of reading the literary works of different genres. In prose of W. D. Howells the perception of the city is connected with the author's point of view on the depicted object, so the leading method in the study was the biographical. This is the first time in the Russian literature of XXI century that the travelogues by W. D. Howells are analyzed, the main motives of the narration are identified, the archetypal images, expressed in literary form, are determined. Fiction affects the formation of the cultural image of the city, the perception of its environment, plunging into the epicenter of the described lives of citizens. The practical significance of the research of the cultural phenomenon of the city is to identify the specific features, forms and techniques creating its image, enclosed in the space-time continuum of the works of W. D. Howells

ORGANIZATION OF MEDICAL AID DURING ANTHRAX OUTBREAK IN YAMALO-NENETS AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT IN 2016

The efficiency and timeliness of medical care of infectious patients are largely determined by the promptness of diagnosis and the rational organization of medical sorting of patients and contact persons. In 2016 there were 36 anthrax cases in the Yamal. In the immediate area of the epidemic were 327 people, including 135 children, in the endangered area – 539 people, including 217 children. Organization of medical care for patients and contact persons was accompanied by objective difficulties associated with the vastness of the territory under threat of infection spread, the presence of atypical and rare clinical forms of anthrax. Тhe article presents the analysis of actions for rendering of medical aid to patients with anthrax in the Yamal in 2016, and the proposed algorithms in medical triage and the organization of the emergency unit

Technological process scheme of the three-stage microwave convection hop drying

    Get PDF
At a temperature of 110 ° C, the concentration of alpha-acid reaches 67.5%, beta-acid - 59%, which reduces the consumer properties of hops. The aim of the study is to develop a microwave convective hop dry-er, which provides a process flow rate of less than 0.5 to equalize the mois-ture content of hops in the structure during transportation through a toroi-dal resonator. We used the programs CST Microwave Studio 2018, Com-pass 3D V20. The hop dryer contains two truncated conical and toroidal resonators. In the central cylinder of the toroidal resonator there is no EMPSWH, here the moisture in the hop cones is equalized. In the capacitor part of the resonator, the electric field strength is sufficient to reduce the bacterial contamination of hops. A dielectric grid electric drive conveyor and a perforated ceramic trough are laid along all resonators. The techno-logical scheme of the process provides for determining the amount of evaporated moisture from each resonator, air flow, and the required power of heat guns. The electrical circuit provides control of three magnetrons and a conveyor. The expected specific heat consumption is 3.54 MJ/kg. The total air consumption is 300 m3/h, with a hop dryer capacity of 100 kg/h

Damage of functionalized self-assembly monomolecular layers applied to silicon microgear MEMS

    Get PDF
Tooth surfaces of silicon-based MEMS microgears are described as smooth surfaces covered by adhesive asperities (nanoblocks). To reduce adhesive effects, the tooth surfaces are functionalized by OTS-SAM (Octadecyltrichlorosilane self-assembly monomolecular) carbon-based functionalized coatings. The wear of the coating is modelled using the modified Goryacheva-Torskaya model of damage accumulation. The amount of energy dissipated by different physical and chemical mechanisms along with energy dissipated by mechanical deformation of the counterparts is used to evaluate the frictional force. The main scenarios of wear process within the coating are described and discussed. The damage evolution is described for several levels of external load

Improving the management technique of logistics planning in the supply chain

    Get PDF
The multidimensionality of transformations that take place, the diversity of destabilizing factors in the environment reduce reliability, sustainability, efficiency of both logistics processes and the entire production and economic activity, and they need their modern economic reflection. The successful activity in the unstable economic environment is impossible without proper strategic analysis and the formation of the effective management system that requires the search for new techniques, the development of logistics-oriented concepts, management approaches to logistics processes that can ensure the goals achievement under the continuous systemic development and disturbance flow. The goal of the research is to improve the technique and develop a management model for logistics processes, considering the effect of the disturbance flow. In accordance with the goal, it is necessary to solve the following scientific problems: to reveal the patterns of logistics processes for the formation of a signal system on management points within the framework of management structures; to develop components of the management technique for logistics processes, taking into account the disturbance flow; to systematize and supplement the principles of logistics processes for the formation of the rational totality of components in the management technique. Thus, the implementation of the proposed management technique for logistics processes will lead to the formation of optimal management impacts within each element, subsystem and the entire structure of the supply chain, ensuring the sustainable development vector at each time period and achieving the goals set under the influence of the disturbance flow, adaptability, flexibility and efficiency of processes
