Las TIC en las instituciones educativas de la zona 7 del Ecuador. Perspectiva de los docentes

The following paper presents the advance of the descriptive study that was done with the purpose of identifying technology hardware and software tools that teachers of basic general and baccalaureate education from Zone 7 (Loja, El Oro and Zamora Chinchipe) of Ecuador, incorporate in their pedagogical task. The target population of the present study, consisted of 744 urban public and fiscal-religious educational institutions of the Zone 7 and a survey was applied to 103 teachers in a probability sampling scheme with a significance .05. The results indicate that, despite of the fact institutions have Internet service, exists a high porcentaje of teachers who indicate that connectivity is insufficient. Most institutions have at least one computer lab, but digital educational resources are lacking. Most of the teachers use the computer, a projector, and a Smart mobile phone as teaching resources in their classes, teachers consider those tools as beneficial for learning. In conclusion, it is necessary to improve the technological equipment of the educational institutions of Zone 7 and the promote the pedagogical use of ICT.En este artículo se presenta un avance de los resultados de un estudio descriptivo que se realizó con el objetivo de identificar las herramientas tecnológicas de hardware y software que los docentes de las instituciones de Educación General Básica y Bachillerato de la Zona 7 del Ecuador (Loja, El Oro y Zamora Chinchipe) incorporan en su tarea pedagógica. La población estuvo constituida por 744 instituciones educativas públicas y fiscomisionales urbanas de la Zona 7 y se aplicó una encuesta a 103 docentes en un esquema de muestreo probabilístico estratificado con una significación .05. Los resultados indican que, aunque las instituciones cuentan con servicio de Internet, un alto porcentaje de los docentes señala que la conectividad es insuficiente; la mayoría de las instituciones tiene al menos un laboratorio de computación, pero faltan recursos educativos digitales. La mayoría de docentes utiliza el computador, el proyector y el teléfono móvil inteligente como recursos didácticos en sus clases y considera que éstos favorecen el aprendizaje. Se concluye que es necesario mejorar el equipamiento tecnológico de las instituciones educativas de la Zona 7 y potenciar el uso pedagógico de las TIC.&nbsp
