Examining the Psychopathology of Incarcerated Male Firesetters using the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III
Research to date has been equivocal on the relationship between firesetting and psychopathology, and has been impeded by studies lacking adequate control samples. The present study examined psychopathology in a sample of incarcerated adult male firesetters (n = 112) and prison controls (n = 113) using the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-III. Firesetters demonstrated multiple elevated scores on personality and clinical syndrome scales. Logistic regression showed that the borderline personality scale was the strongest personality scale discriminator between firesetters and controls. Major depression and drug dependence were the strongest clinical syndrome scale predictors. However, both clinical syndrome scale predictors appeared to be mediated by borderline personality scores indicating that firesetters are best characterized by responding indicative of borderline personality traits rather than other psychopathological deficits. The results suggest that, relative to other offenders, firesetters face challenges with impulse control, affect regulation, stability of interpersonal relationships, and self-image

it is now in your hands to save the people of the Mexicali Valley from hunger and exile, following only a moral principle of human brotherhood, because human coexistance is a necessity, we the people of the land are now invoking this in the name of peaceful coexistence.
"If you are kind enough to consider our simple arguments, we believe that the farmers class of north-west Mexico and of the entire Mexican Republic, with out regard for political parties, religious beliefs and ideological differences, will be most grateful, because in this instance, to the benefit of Mexico, you will put into practice these principles which we are invoking.
"Very sincerely yours,

in unifying our protest as the people of Mexicali and the people of all Mexico, over the salinity of the waters of the Colorado River which, from the chemical reactions therein, are sterilizing the cultivated land used for agriculture in the Valley of Mexicali, Baja California.
"The action of your country, consisting in the disposing of marine fossil waters from Wellton Mohawk Valley in the State of Arizona above the Gila River, which we Mexicans are using throughout the Presa Morelos of Mexico, for the irrigation of the lands in the mentioned Mexicali Valley, has left practically sterile and useless some 100,000 hectars, dedicated to agricultural production, and this cultivation of the land in the course of 50 years gave origin to a town of more than 300,000 inhabitants.
"This action of discharging salty waters over the Presa Morelos of Mexico will result in the exodus of the majority of these 300,000 people who are of all ages.
"This action now recalls to us the bitter memory of the killing of the Japanese people and the destruction of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the month of May of 1945 when the first atomic bombs were used in Second World War, massacring more than 300,000 victime, among them men, women, and children. The consummation of this human catastrophe offended the feelings of all families in the world regardless of race. Mr. Lyndon B. Johnson, you can avoid this type of tragedy, this GENOCIDE of the Mexican people in Mexicali, Baja California.
"If destiny and a merciless war arranged for the armed forces of the United States to be the main actors in this drama of humanity (we are referring to the massacre of the inhabitants of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan),
