    Organik Kayın Mantarı (Pleurotus Spp.) Yetiştiriciliği

    Bu çalışma, yenilebilir mantar türlerinden kültüre alınanlar içerisinde, dünyada en fazla üretimi yapılan Pleurotus spp. türlerinden Pleurotus sajor-caju ve Pleurotus ostreatus türlerinin tanıtımının yanı sıra, organik tarım koşullarında en uygun yetiştirme ortamlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, Pleurotus yetiştiriciliğinde değişik yetiştirme ortamları olarak buğday samanı, buğday kepeği, çeltik kavuzu (pirinç kavuzu) ve parçalanmış mısır koçanı materyalleri ve bunların değişik oranlarda karışımları kullanılmıştır. Hazırlanan ortamların pastörizasyonunda 60 0C’de 8 saat süreyle buhar işlemi uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, en yüksek mantar verimi ve biyolojik etkinlik oranı, %60 buğday samanı + %40 mısır koçanı ve %95 buğday samanı + %5 buğday kepeği uygulamalarından elde edilmiştir

    Teaching-Learning Process Self-Efficacy Beliefs Scale (TLPSEBS) for Academic Staff: A Scale Development Study

    A valid and reliable measurement tool has been developed to measure the teaching-learning process self-efficacy of instructors in higher education institutions. During the scale development stage, the scale form was e-mailed to 305 instructors, who were selected through purposive sampling method, working at the faculties of health, social, science, fine arts and engineering of the randomly determined universities in 7 regions of Turkey. As a result of the explanatory factor analysis, the 8 items were excluded from the scale and the single-factor scale with remaining 40 items explained 58,309% of the total variance. The internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach’s Alpha) of the scale was found to be .98 for the whole scale. It was concluded according to these findings that the scale developed in this study is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure the teaching-learning process self-efficacy of the instructors working in higher education institutions

    Analyzing the Views of Pre-Service Teachers on the Use of Augmented Reality Applications in Education

    It was aimed in this study to determine the teacher candidates' views on the augmented reality applications in education. It is a descriptive study to identify the present situation. Survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample group of the study is comprised of 220 teacher candidates who are studying in the 2nd Grade of 8 departments in Mersin University Faculty of Education. Consisting of 4 sections, 22 items and an open-ended question, a questionnaire was used as a data collection tool in the study to determine the views of teacher candidates about the augmented reality applications in education. The findings obtained from the analysis of the data were shown in frequency and percentage. Qualitative findings obtained from the open-ended question were classified into codes and themes through content analysis method, and frequency and percentages of codes were given. It was found in the study that the teacher candidates did not know well enough about the augmented reality applications and that those who knew them found these applications very entertaining, motivating and facilitating learning, and were also of the same mind to use them widely in education

    This study investigated the effect of the blended learning method enriched by material development in the elementary school social studies courses on students’ academic achievement and explored their views towards this model. In this study, information communication technologies (ICT) and manual tools were used together. In this respect, the map model developed as instructional material for classroom application and the web-supported digital contents for out of school utilization in the elementary school social studies courses were used in the study. The study was conducted with elementary fourth grade students. It consisted of two randomly selected classes with 60 students as the experimental group and two classes with 58 students as the control group. Activities were designed according to 12 learning outcomes in the “People, Places, and Environments” and “Culture and Heritage” units. An academic achievement test (alpha = 0.76) and an open-ended question form were utilized as data collections tools in the study. By the end, it was concluded that the experimental group, exposed to blended learning activities enriched by material development, scored statistically significantly higher in academic achievement than the control group and the students found the method entertaining and educational

    STEM-Based Course Design: A Way to Develop Attitudes towards STEM and Science Course

    The study aimed to investigate the effects of a STEM-based course design on students’ attitudes towards STEM and a science course. STEM activities were prepared per learning outcomes relating to the ‘illumination and sound technologies’ learning domain in the grade 4 science course. The study was carried out based on an experiment and control group quasi-experimental design. The study was carried out at a state school in Mersin in 2021. The experimental group of the study consisted of 32 and the control group consisted of 32 grade 4 students. STEM-based activities were performed in the experimental group. However, non-STEM activities were performed based on usual experimental setups in the control group. At the end of the study, the experimental and control group students’ attitudes towards STEM and science course were examined to determine whether there were statistically significant differences. As part of this study, student opinions on STEM were examined. A STEM Attitude Test and open-ended opinion form were used as data collection tools. Normality tests were conducted, and the homogeneity of variances was examined. Dependent and independent t-tests were conducted in quantitative data analysis and content analysis in the qualitative data analysis. The results suggested that STEM-based course design significantly increased students’ STEM attitudes and their attitudes towards science course more than the attitudes of students not exposed to STEM-based course design. In addition, students considered STEM practices fun and informative. Accordingly preparing STEM based course design for science course has been suggested

    In recent years, biotechnology has become one of the most important phenomenons that will affect the future of mankind. Biotechnology is the use of biological organism, systems and events at the production and service areas. The aim of biotechnology in animal nutrition, to improve feedstaff production and sources and to increase evaluation of feed at the animal digestive tract. In this study, the products which are obtained by biotechnological methods such as probiotics, enzymes, ionophores, protected proteins and aminoacids and hormones were investigated and publications about the use of the products at animal nutrition were reviewed. The probiotics have special role with respect to preventing undesired microorganisms. On the other hand, when they added to the feeds, their positive effects on the feed consumption, live weight, yield and animal health have been found. Enzymes are commonly used in monogastric animals and poultry compound feeds. Poultry feed predominantly is composed of plant material, mainly cereals and vegetable proteins which contain non starchVIII polysaccharides. These feeds can not be fully digested by poultry animals. Therefore, enzyme is added to improve the nutrient availability of the feed components. External enzymes either added to cattle diets to prevent endogenic enzymes in the digestive tract. Ionophores, are used commonly for improving the feed efficiency and weight gain in ruminant nutrition. Ionophores are used for prevent coccidiosis, also it improves feed consumption and weight gain in poultry. On the other hand the products such as hormones are commonly used as growth promoters in ruminant and poultry compound feeds. Biyoteknoloji, biyolojik organizmaların, sistemlerin veya olayların, üretim ve hizmet sahalarında kullanıma aktarılmasıdır. Hayvan beslemede biyoteknoloji çalışmalarının amacı; yem maddesi üretiminin ve yem değerinin artırılması, yeni yem kaynaklarının bulunması ve yemlerin hayvan organizmasında daha iyi değerlendirilmesidir. Bu tezde, hayvan beslemede kullanılan ve biyoteknolojik yöntemlerle elde edilen probiyotikler, enzimler, iyonoforlar, korunmuş protein ve aminoasitler ve hormonlar gibi ürünler ele alınmış ve bu ürünlerin hayvan beslemede kullanımı üzerine yapılan çalışmalar biraraya getirilmiştir. Probiyotikler, arzu edilmeyen mikroorganizmaların gelişmelerini engellemesi açısından önem taşır. Ayrıca yemlere ilave edildiğinde canlı ağırlık, yem tüketimi, çeşitli verimler ve sağlık üzerineVI olumlu itkileri görülmüştür. Enzimler, monogastrik ve kümes hayvanlarının karma yemlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Kanatlı yemlerinin büyük çoğunluğunu oluşturan tahıllar ve bitkisel protein yemleri, içerdikleri nişasta tabiatında olmayan polisakkaritleri nedeniyle tam olarak sindirilemezler. Bu nedenle sindirimi artırmak amacıyla yemlere enzim ilavesi yapılmaktadır. Ruminant rasyonlarma enzim ilavesi ise daha çok sindirim sisteminde mevcut enzimlerin güvence altına alınmasına yönelik olmaktadır. İyonoforlar, ruminant beslenmesinde canlı ağırlık artışı ve yemden yararlanmayı iyileştirmek amacıyla yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. İyonoforlar kanatlılarda koksidiyozu önlemek amacıyla kullanılmakta, canlı ağırlık artışı ve yemden yararlanmayı iyileştirmektedir. Diğer yandan, biyoteknolojik yöntemlerle elde edilen hormonlar, gelişmeyi teşvik edici madde olarak ruminantlann ve kümes hayvanlarının karma yemlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır

    Bu öğretim, eğitim fakültesi sınıf öğretmenliği bölüm öğretmeni aday öğretmen adayları üstün yetenekli eğitimine yönelik tutumların ve görüşlerinin dönem amaçlanmıştır. Mersin Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Sınıf Öğretmenliği Bölümünde öğrenim gören 224 öğretmen adayı ve üstün yetenekli eğitimine tıp görüş formu dolduran 24 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Üstün Yeteneklilerinin Eğitimine Yönelik Görüş Formu, Üstün Yeteneklilerinin Eğitimine Yönelik Görüş Formu, Üstün Yeteneklilerinin Eğitimine Yönelik Görüş Formu başlıklı makalede yer almaktadır. . Öğretmen adaylarının anlamı, kestirmeler ve sınıf seviyesine göre anlamlılık farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı t-testi ve Anova testleri ile incelenmiştir. Üstün yetenekli eğitimine ait öğretmen adayları açık uçlu soru formunda toplanan açıklamalara göre içeriklendirilmiş, elde edilen kodlar, yüzde ve frekansına sahiptir. Çalışmada, üstün yetenekli eğitimine karşı sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının tutumlarının 3 alt boyutta da olumlu olmasıydı. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerine göre üstün yetenekli bireylere özel eğitim imkanı sunar. Üstün yetenekli eğitimine ait öğretmen adayları açık uçlu soru formunda toplanan değerlere göre oranlandırılır, elde edilen kodlar, yüzde ve frekansına sahiptir.     Clinical results of intraarticular distal radius fractures treated by us with external fixators

    Radius distal kırıklarının kapalı redüksiyon eksternal fiksasyon yöntemi ile tedavi sonuçlarının klinik ve radyolojik olarak değerlendirilmesini amaçladığımız bu çalışmada Şubat 2008- Ekim 2011 tarihleri arasında tedavi edilen 17 radius distal kırığı değerlendirildi. AO sınıflamasına göre 6 kırık tip C, 11 kırık ise tip B idi. Tüm kırıklar kapalı redüksiyon eksternal fiksatör ile tedavi edildi ve ortalama 25 ay (12-46 ay) takip edildi. Fonksiyonel değerlendirmede Gartland ve Werley skorlamasının Sarmiento modifikasyonu, radyolojik değerlendirmelerde ise Modifiye Sarmiento skorlaması kullanıldı. Güncel yaşam aktivite değerlendirilmesinde DASH skorlama sistemi kullanıldı. Radyolojik ölçümlerin sonucuna göre yapılan anatomik değerlendirmede 11 kırık (% 64) kusursuz, 4 kırık (% 24) iyi, 2 kırık (% 12) orta-kötü olarak tespit edildi. Radyolojik değerlendirmede orta-kötü sonuçları olan 2 olgunun biri C1 diğeri de C2 tipi kırıklar idi. Gartland ve Wesley skorlaması Sarmiento modifikasyonuna göre 9 olgu çok iyi, 5 olgu iyi, 2 olgu orta, 1 olgu kötü olarak değerlendirildi. Güncel yaşam aktivite değerlendirmelerinde DASH skorlama sistemine göre ortalama değer 8.57 idi. Toplam 4 (% 23) olguda Refleks Sempatik Distrofi ve 8 (% 47) olguda yüzeyel çivi dibi infeksiyonu gelişti. Radius distal uç kırıklarının tedavisinde eksternal fiksatör yöntemi, klinik ve radyolojik sonuçları açısından uygun olgularda iyi bir tedavi seçeneğidir.Evaluation of clinical and radiological results of distal radius fractures treated with closed reduction and external fixation was aimed in this study. Seventeen cases of distal radius fractures managed between February 2008 and October 2011 were evaluated . According to AO classification, six of these fractures were type C and eleven of them were type B fractures. All of the cases were treated with closed reduction and external fixation. The average length of follow up was 25 (12-46) months. Sarmiento modification of Gartland and Werley scoring system was used for functional evaluation, and DASH scoring system for the evaluation of daily life activities. In anatomical evaluation based on the results of radiological measurements, 11 cases (64 %) had perfect, 4 (24 %) had good, 2 (12 %) had moderate- poor results. These two bad results were obtained in the treatment of AO-C1 and C2 fractures. According to Sarmiento modification of Gartland and Werley scoring system, 9 cases had perfect, 5 had good, 2 had moderate and one had bad results. According to DASH scoring system , the mean score was 8.57 points. Four patients (23 %) suffered from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, and eight (47 %) cases had superficial pin tract infection. External fixator is a good treatment option in terms of clinical and radiological results in selected cases with distal radius fractures

    Trainer training program developed for instructors about student-centered teaching-learning processes and its effects: A study of a curriculum development in higher education: Curriculum development in higher education

    In this study, the educational needs of the instructors in higher education institutions about student-centered teaching-learning processes were identified and, based on the Taba-Tyler program development model, a trainer training program was developed. This program was practised in the experimental model and then its effectiveness was evaluated. “Teaching-learning process instructors self-efficacy scale” and “academic success test” developed in the research extent were implemented to 62 instructors. It was observed, according to the findings, that the self-efficacy perception and academic achievement levels of instructors in teaching-learning processes increased significantly compared to the beginning of the program. It was accordingly concluded that the instructor training program which was prepared and implemented within the scope of this study to improve the teaching-learning process efficacy of the instructors is a favourable model and, in this sense, it can be used as a model in the trainer trainings by higher education institutions
