Realization of Low-Voltage Modified CBTA and Design of Cascadable Current-Mode All-Pass Filter
In this paper, a low voltage modified current backward transconductance amplifier (MCBTA) and a novel first-order current-mode (CM) all-pass filter are presented. The MCBTA can operate with ±0.9 V supply voltage and the total power consumption of MCBTA is 1.27 mW. The presented all-pass filter employs single MCBTA, a grounded resistor and a grounded capacitor. The circuit possesses low input and high output impedances which make it ideal for current-mode systems. The presented all-pass filter circuit can be made electronically tunable due to the bias current of the MCBTA. Non-ideal study along with simulation results are given for validation purpose. Further, an nth-order cascadable all-pass filter is also presented. It uses n MCBTAs, n grounded resistors and n grounded capacitors. The performance of the proposed circuits is demonstrated by using PSPICE simulations based on the 0.18 µm TSMC level-7 CMOS technology parameters
Infinite Infrared Regularization and a State Space for the Heisenberg Algebra
We present a method for the construction of a Krein space completion for
spaces of test functions, equipped with an indefinite inner product induced by
a kernel which is more singular than a distribution of finite order. This
generalizes a regularization method for infrared singularities in quantum field
theory, introduced by G. Morchio and F. Strocchi, to the case of singularites
of infinite order. We give conditions for the possibility of this procedure in
terms of local differential operators and the Gelfand- Shilov test function
spaces, as well as an abstract sufficient condition. As a model case we
construct a maximally positive definite state space for the Heisenberg algebra
in the presence of an infinite infrared singularity.Comment: 18 pages, typos corrected, journal-ref added, reference adde
Orbital currents in the Colle-Salvetti correlation energy functional and the degeneracy problem
Popular density functionals for the exchange-correlation energy typically
fail to reproduce the degeneracy of different ground states of open-shell
atoms. As a remedy, functionals which explicitly depend on the current density
have been suggested. We present an analysis of this problem by investigating
functionals that explicitly depend on the Kohn-Sham orbitals. Going beyond the
exact-exchange approximation by adding correlation in the form of the
Colle-Salvetti functional we show how current-dependent terms enter the
Colle-Salvetti expression and their relevance is evaluated. A very good
description of the degeneracy of ground-states for atoms of the first and
second row of the periodic table is obtained
