EAST: Energy Efficient Adaptive Scheme for Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose Energy-efficient Adaptive Scheme for Transmission (EAST) in WSNs. EAST is IEEE 802.15.4 standard compliant. In this approach, open-loop is used for temperature-aware link quality estimation and compensation. Whereas, closed-loop feedback helps to divide network into three logical regions to minimize overhead of control packets on basis of Threshold transmitter power loss (RSSIloss) for each region and current number of neighbor nodes that help to adapt transmit power according to link quality changes due to temperature variation. Simulation results show that propose scheme; EAST effectively adapts transmission power to changing link quality with less control packets overhead and energy consumption compared to classical approach with single region in which maximum transmitter power assigned to compensate temperature variation

Novel spectral features of nanoelectromechanical systems

Electron transport through a quantum dot or single molecule coupled to a quantum oscillator is studied by the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green's function formalism to obtain insight into the quantum dynamics of the electronic and oscillator degrees of freedom. We tune the electronic level of the quantum dot by a gate voltage, where the leads are kept at zero temperature. Due to the nonequilibrium distribution of the electrons in the quantum dot, the spectral function becomes a function of the gate voltage. Novel spectral features are identified for the ground and excited states of nanomechanical oscillators that can be used to enhance the measurement sensitivity

Dampak Aktivitas Swalayan Grand Hero terhadap Kinerja Ruas Jalan Basuki Rahmat di Kota Palu

One of the few supermakets in Palu city which considerably crowded is Grand Hero Supermarket. This Supermarket was located on the Basuki Rahmat street. Because this road is an arterial road with highly traffic volume at certain hours, so the Grand Hero Supermarket activity will affect the performance of the road. At peak hours, many vehicles are in and out from the supermaket, disrupting theperformance of BasukiRahmat road. The aim of this research is to understand the existing condition of the Basuki Rahmat street performance with or without the activity of Grand Hero Supermaket. This research was conducted by surveying the volume of the street, side friction and travel time. The survey was carried on Wednesday 04-06-2015 and Saturday 6-06 2015. The analysis was conducted by using Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997 method. The results show that the performance of JalanBasuki Rahmat with no Grand Hero Supermarket\u27s activity has a degree of saturation 0.35. Grand Hero Supermarket with activity would increase the degree of saturation that is 0.43 that increases 22.86%. The speed of light vehicles by MKJI is 42.84 km / h. With the Grand Hero Supermarket activity, the speed of light vehicle decreased from 27.76 km/ h to 23.74 km / h or there are speed reductions of 14.49%. The level of service with the Grand Hero Supermarket activity was at B condition with DS rate of 0,4

This paper attempts to explore the impact of built-up areas on groundwater levels in district Faisalabad. To understand the rate of built-up area expansion and changes in the level of groundwater in the study area, groundwaterdata has been acquired from the Land Reclamation Department for all tehsils in district Faisalabad. This study wasconducted to assess spatial and temporal variation of groundwater level because of the built-up area change. Descriptivestatistics (Scatter Plot correlation technique) have been applied to figure out changes in groundwater levels. Furthermore, some built-up area extraction methods have been incorporated that are always found to be effective tools for theassessment of built-up area change. The spatial analysis tool Spline has applied to 79 bore points in all tehsils of districtFaisalabad. Results clearly show that a built-up increase of 41 km2in Faisalabad city is causing 1-foot depletion ingroundwater as compared to other tehsils, where a built-up increase is negligible. Such research studies of groundwaterchanges would assist the planners to adopt effective sustainable measures
