Photometric observations of the supernova 2009nr

We present the results of our UBVRI CCD photometry for the second brightest supernova of 2009, SN 2009nr, discovered during a sky survey with the telescopes of the MASTER robotic network. Its light and color curves and bolometric light curves have been constructed. The light-curve parameters and the maximum luminosity have been determined. SN 2009nr is shown to be similar in light-curve shape and maximum luminosity to SN 1991T, which is the prototype of the class of supernovae Ia with an enhanced luminosity. SN 2009nr exploded far from the center of the spiral galaxy UGC 8255 and most likely belongs to its old halo population. We hypothesize that this explosion is a consequence of the merger of white dwarfs

Optical polarization observations with the MASTER robotic net

We present results of optical polarization observations performed with the MASTER robotic net for three types of objects: gamma-ray bursts, supernovae, and blazars. For the Swift gamma-ray bursts GRB100906A, GRB110422A, GRB121011A, polarization observations were obtained during very early stages of optical emission. For GRB100906A it was the first prompt optical polarization observation in the world. Photometry in polarizers is presented for Type Ia Supernova 2012bh during 20 days, starting on March 27, 2012. We find that the linear polarization of SN 2012bh at the early stage of the envelope expansion was less than 3%. Polarization measurements for the blazars OC 457, 3C 454.3, QSO B1215+303, 87GB 165943.2+395846 at single nights are presented. We infer the degree of the linear polarization and polarization angle. The blazars OC 457 and 3C 454.3 were observed during their periods of activity. The results show that MASTER is able to measure substantially polarized light; at the same time it is not suitable for determining weak polarization (less than 5%) of dim objects (fainter than 16$^m$). Polarimetric observations of the optical emission from gamma-ray bursts and supernovae are necessary to investigate the nature of these transient objects.Comment: 31 pages, 12 figures, 4 tables; Exposure times in Table 2 have been correcte

Leadership competence and determining the level of its formation in cadets as future police officers

Розкривається поняття «лідерська компетентність» офіцерів поліції, визначаються якості особистості, які мають бути притаманні офіцеру поліції як лідеру, а отже, забезпечують формування у нього лідерської компетентності. Уміння раціонально поводитись у колективі, визначати мету службової діяльності робочої групи, формулювати завдання підлеглим, організовувати і спрямовувати службову діяльність підлеглих визначаються наявністю лідерських якостей особистості офіцера-лідера, до числа яких можна віднести високий професіоналізм, прагнення успіху, відповідальність і надійність, упевненість у собі, самостійність, уміння впливати на своїх підлеглих, здатність творчо вирішувати задачі, комунікабельність, близькість до підлеглих, емоційна врівноваженість і стресостійкість. Зазначено, що лідерство в курсантському середовищі можна розглядати як різновид студентського лідерства, яке формується і розвивається найбільш ефективно у людини з 18 до 22 років. Отже, період навчання молодої людини у закладі вищої освіти є сприятливим для формування і розвитку у неї лідерських якостей. Враховуючи зазначене, доцільно організовувати освітній процес у ЗВО МВС України у такий спосіб, щоб виникали умови для формування лідерської компетентності у курсантів як майбутніх офіцерів поліції. Про це свідчать результати проведеного дослідження, які показали, що спеціальна організація освітнього процесу, зокрема, проведення тренінгів і практичних занять з елементами тренінгу лідерських якостей сприяє збільшенню кількості курсантів, у яких формується мотив досягнення успіху, які прагнуть зайняти лідерські позиції, більш зацікавлено ставляться до вирішення службових завдань, зменшується кількість курсантів, у яких переважає мотив уникання невдач. Результати дослідження свідчать про те, що спілкування з підлеглими доцільно здійснювати у формі лідерства.The article highlights the importance of the formation of leadership competence among cadets as future police offcers for the effective performance of offcial duties. The concept of “leadership competency” of police offcers is revealed, personality traits that should be inherent in a police offcer as a leader are determined, and, therefore, ensure the formation of leadership competence in him. The ability to behave rationally in a team, to determine the purpose of the work activities of a working group, to formulate tasks for subordinates, to organize and direct the performance of subordinates is determined by the presence of leadership qualities of the personality of a leader offcer, which include high professionalism; desire for success, responsibility and reliability, self-confdence, independence, ability to influence one’s subordinates, ability to creatively solve problems, sociability, closeness to subordinates, emotional balance and stress resistance. It is noted that leadership in the cadet environment can be considered as a kind of student leadership, which is formed and develops most effectively in a person from 18 to 22 years old. So, the period of training a young man in a higher education institution is favorable for the formation and development of his leadership qualities. Given the above, it is advisable to organize the educational process in the ZVO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in such a way that conditions for the formation of leadership competence among cadets as future police offcers arise. This is evidenced by the results of the study, which showed that the special organization of the educational process, in particular, the conduct of trainings and practical exercises with elements of leadership training, helps to increase the number of cadets who are motivated by success, who seek to take leadership positions, are more interested in solving offcial tasks, and the number of cadets decreases, in which the motive for avoiding failure prevails. The results of the study indicate that it is advisable to communicate with subordinates in the form of leadership.В статье освещается значение сформированности лидерской компетентности у курсантов как будущих офицеров полиции для эффективного выполнения служебных обязанностей. Раскрывается понятие «лидерская компетентность» офицеров полиции, определяются качества личности, которые должны быть присущи офицеру полиции как лидеру, а следовательно, обеспечивают формирование у него лидерской компетентности
