DESIGN HEAT EXCHANGER NETWORK BY GRAPH METHOD

    Get PDF
The  problem  of  synthesizing  a  network  of  heat  exchangers  can  be  resolved  by  the temperature – enthalpy diagram or by the table method, but they are not convenient in large heat exchanger network design.  In  this  study, we use graph  theory  to present  and  to design  a heat exchanger  network.  This method  is  one way  to  avoid  the  difficulties  inherent with  applying temperature – enthalpy diagram or table method to a large complex network and the presentation of network as a grid in graph theory is very clear and allows for easy modificatio

THE PHYSICAL FITNESS STATUS OF MALE STUDENTS OF DONG NAI UNIVERSITY, VIETNAM

The article was made with the aim of evaluating the most fair and comprehensive way of physical fitness of male students at Dong Nai University. To bring about accurate results for the study, the team used research techniques common in the fields of physical education and sports. Therefore, the current fitness status of Dong Nai University students is assessed by comparing their performance with the average fitness of Vietnam and other universities such as Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) of the same age and sex. In this way, the fitness of 19-year-old students of Dong Nai University is also measured according to Decision 53/2008/BGD&DT of the Ministry of Education and Training. The results showed that people with good physical strength accounted for 2.49% of the total number of study subjects, people with acceptable fitness accounted for 7.47% and people with poor physical strength accounted for 90.04%. In general, male students from Dong Nai University have better physical fitness than the average Vietnamese, more than VNU-HCM students, and compared to Vietnamese in average physical strength and strength. hand and forearm muscles. They are also lower than the average fitness of the Vietnamese, lower than the students of VNU-HCM, and the average fitness of the Vietnamese in terms of speed, leg muscle strength, endurance, sub-muscular strength and dexterity.  Article visualizations

Seismic study of shallow circular tunnel in Red River sand (Vietnam)

    Get PDF
Attention should be paid to tunnels' seismic behaviour since many of them have been damaged by earthquakes. The paper presented a seismic study of a shallow circular tunnel by physical modelling on shaking table test. A small scale tunnel model of the Hanoi pilot metro line's underground segment was placed in the middle of a rigid soil container and buried in Red River sand (Vietnam). The table was vibrated along the soil container's long wall, with a simulated seismic wave created from the 1788 Tolmezzo (Italia) accelerogram. Five testing campaigns were executed, and the model's acceleration data were studied. The uni-directional vibration created by the shaking table caused the three-directional vibration of the physical model. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) frequency spectrum analyses were performed. The vibration characteristics of the model (i.e., frequency graph's structure, maximal acceleration, dominant frequency, strong-motion duration) in three orthogonal directions under the artificial earthquake action were compared. The obtained results proved the complicated seismic impacts on a shallow tunnel

Two activators of in vitro fertilization in mice from licorice

    Get PDF
AbstractSystems for artificial insemination have been established in some animals. However, due to limited availability of sperm and oocytes, more effective treatment methodologies are required. Recently, it was demonstrated that the rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in mice was improved by adding a water extract of licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis), but not glycyrrhizic acid, to the artificial insemination culture medium. In this study, we examined licorice extract for active compounds using bioassay-guided separation. The results indicated that isoliquiritigenin and formononetin were the active molecules in licorice that contributed to the improved rate of IVF

A Generalization Bound of Deep Neural Networks for Dependent Data

Existing generalization bounds for deep neural networks require data to be independent and identically distributed (iid). This assumption may not hold in real-life applications such as evolutionary biology, infectious disease epidemiology, and stock price prediction. This work establishes a generalization bound of feed-forward neural networks for non-stationary ϕ\phi-mixing data

Applying calcium fluoride and silica particles: A solution to improve color homogeneity of pc-WLEDS

    Get PDF
This article focuses on enhancing the lighting efficiency of pc-WLEDs, a new and advanced lighting solution that has received lots of attention. To adapt to the demand of modern lighting, the lighting performance of pc-WLEDs must be improved, especially the color homogeneity and luminous flux, two of the most important quality indicators of pc-WLEDs. Through experiments, this article proposes using the scattering enhancement particles (SEPs) such as CaF2 and SiO2 with yellow phosphor Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ in pc-WLEDs configuration. The pc-WLEDs model is created by using the LightTools program and set at 8500 K correlated color temperature, while the experimental results yielded from this simulation will be verified by Mie-scattering theory. The information from this article reveals the scattering coefficients of SEPs at 455 nm and 595 nm wavelengths. Moreover, it is confirmed that the employment of CaF2 is effective in promoting the color but may damage the luminous efficiency if the concentration is too high while the SEP material, SiO2, exhibits high luminous efficiency at all concentration

An effective RGB color selection for complex 3D object structure in scene graph systems

The goal of this project is to develop a complete, fully detailed 3D interactive model of the human body and systems in the human body, and allow the user to interacts in 3D with all the elements of that system, to teach students about human anatomy. Some organs, which contain a lot of details about a particular anatomy, need to be accurately and fully described in minute detail, such as the brain, lungs, liver and heart. These organs are need have all the detailed descriptions of the medical information needed to learn how to do surgery on them, and should allow the user to add careful and precise marking to indicate the operative landmarks on the surgery location. Adding so many different items of information is challenging when the area to which the information needs to be attached is very detailed and overlaps with all kinds of other medical information related to the area. Existing methods to tag areas was not allowing us sufficient locations to attach the information to. Our solution combines a variety of tagging methods, which use the marking method by selecting the RGB color area that is drawn in the texture, on the complex 3D object structure. Then, it relies on those RGB color codes to tag IDs and create relational tables that store the related information about the specific areas of the anatomy. With this method of marking, it is possible to use the entire set of color values (R, G, B) to identify a set of anatomic regions, and this also makes it possible to define multiple overlapping regions

FACTORS AFFECTING THE SHARE OF FAKE NEWS ABOUT COVID-19 OUTBREAK ON SOCIAL NETWORKS IN VIETNAM

In recent days in Vietnam, the amount of fake news spreading online about the Covid-19 epidemic has shown signs of increasing, causing information confusion and complicating the situation. This fact has received significant attention from scientists. To supplement the evidence of previous studies, enrich the research literature and make policy recommendations to the Government, this study explores the factors influencing the sharing of fake news on social networks. This study was conducted through a cross-sectional survey using an intentional sampling technique (n = 200) multivariate linear regression analysis technique was applied to prove the hypotheses. Research results show that the factors of altruism, entertainment, socialization, self-promotion, and instant information sharing have a positive and meaningful impact on sharing fake news about Covid_19 on social networks
