    Deformation quantization of gerbes

    Get PDF
This is the first in a series of articles devoted to deformation quantization of gerbes. Here we give basic definitions and interpret deformations of a given gerbe as Maurer-Cartan elements of a differential graded Lie algebra (DGLA). We classify all deformations of a given gerbe on a symplectic manifold, as well as provide a deformation-theoretic interpretation of the first Rozansky-Witten class.Comment: Revised versio

In the article it has been grounded the significant meaning of balanced scorecard for strategic goals realization at an enterprise. It has been also analyzed some approaches considered by different scientists concerning the definition of notions “strategic accounting” and “strategic analysis”. The algorithm of strategic goals realization by means of BSC at an enterprise has been suggested by authors and the basic requirements to analytical and accounting information in the given system have been generalized. The study made it possible to find the connection of balanced scorecard as a method of strategic analysis with accounting to be proved with necessity of unified analytical and accounting system application for effectiveness increase at an enterprise based on the balanced scorecard use.

    Muon capture on light nuclei

This work investigates the muon capture reactions 2H(\mu^-,\nu_\mu)nn and 3He(\mu^-,\nu_\mu)3H and the contribution to their total capture rates arising from the axial two-body currents obtained imposing the partially-conserved-axial-current (PCAC) hypothesis. The initial and final A=2 and 3 nuclear wave functions are obtained from the Argonne v_{18} two-nucleon potential, in combination with the Urbana IX three-nucleon potential in the case of A=3. The weak current consists of vector and axial components derived in chiral effective field theory. The low-energy constant entering the vector (axial) component is determined by reproducting the isovector combination of the trinucleon magnetic moment (Gamow-Teller matrix element of tritium beta-decay). The total capture rates are 393.1(8) s^{-1} for A=2 and 1488(9) s^{-1} for A=3, where the uncertainties arise from the adopted fitting procedure.Comment: 6 pages, submitted to Few-Body Sys

Opportunities in multimodal neuroimaging for optimizing thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke

The main purpose of examination of patients before thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke (IS) is to timely identify contraindications to the use of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator. Objective: to estimate opportunities and benefits in applying multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to improve clinical outcomes in acute stroke, among other processes, by enhancing the efficiency and safety of thrombolytic therapy.Patients and methods. The clinical experience of the S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy in using multimodal MRI of the brain since 2004 was analyzed in patients with stroke.Results. Comprehensive assessment of the results of perfusion-weighted MRI of the brain and those of transcranial Doppler ultrasound identified five clinically significant variants of perfusion changes in IS: normal perfusion; postischemic hyperemia; persistent hypoperfusion; acute pathological hyperperfusion, and unrecovered perfusion. With an irreversible tissue damage volume of >60 cm3 on day 1 of stroke, as evidenced by diffusion-weighted MRI, the odd ratio for cerebral edema in the acutest period of the disease is 39.4% (95% CI 2.57–2436; p<0.05). The risk of hemorrhagic transformation increases with a measured diffusion coefficient in the area of the nucleus of developing nonlacunar infarct <35×10-5 mm2/sec within the first 24 hours after disease onset (p<0.005).Conclusion. The data of local clinical practice and the results of international clinical trials show that multimodal MRI of the brain is a reliable tool for the detailed evaluation of the expected efficiency and safety of thrombolytic therapy for IS. When persistent hypoperfusion is detected, the determination of perfusion-diffusion mismatch is of no informative value in deciding on whether thrombolytic therapy can be performed. Estimating the volume of pathological changes on diffusion-weighted images and the measured diffusion coefficient in the area of the nucleus of developing nonlacunar infarct in the measured diffusion coefficient maps allows the risk of major intracranial complications due to IS to be identified

    Oscilatory modules

Developing the ideas of Bressler and Soibelman and of Karabegov, we introduce a notion of an oscillatory module on a symplectic manifold which is a sheaf of modules over the sheaf of deformation quantization algebras with an additional structure. We compare the category of oscillatory modules on a torus to the Fukaya category as computed by Polishchuk and Zaslow.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of Moshe Flato Memorial Conference, November, 2008, Ben Gurion Universit

Cyclic homology and the Macdonald conjectures

    Let A+(k) denote the ring ℂ[ t ]/ t k+1 and let G be a reductive complex Lie algebra with exponents m 1 , ..., m n . This paper concerns the Lie algebra cohomology of G ⊗ A + ( k ) considered as a bigraded algebra (here one of the gradings is homological degree and the other, which we call weight , is inherited from the obvious grading of G ⊗ A + ( k )). We conjecture that this Lie algebra cohomology is an exterior algebra with k +1 generators of homological degree 2 m s +1 for s =1,2, ..., n . Of these k +1 generators of degree 2 m s +1, one has weight 0 and the others have weights ( k +1) m s +t for t =1,2, ..., k .Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/46617/1/222_2005_Article_BF01391498.pd
