Keck Observations of the Hidden Quasar IRAS P09104+4109
We present imaging and spectro- polarimetric observations of the
ultraluminous infrared galaxy IRAS P09104+4109 using the Keck 10-m Telescope.
We detect the clear presence of broad Hb, Hg, and MgII 2800 emission lines in
the polarized flux spectra of the nucleus and of an extranuclear emission
region ~ 4" away, confirming the presence of a hidden central quasar. The
polarization of the broad Mg II emission line is high (~ 29%), consistent with
the remarkably high polarization (~ 30%-40%) observed in the extended continuum
emission. The narrow emission lines are polarized in a stratified fashion, with
the high ionization lines being polarized 0.7%-1.7% and [O II] essentially
unpolarized. The line polarizations are positively correlated with critical
density, ionization potential, and velocity width of the emission lines. This
indicates that the NLR may be partially shadowed by the putative torus, with
the higher ionization lines originating closer to the nucleus. One notable
characteristic of the extranuclear knot is that all species of Fe are markedly
absent in its spectrum, while they appear prominently in the nucleus. Our
favored interpretation is that there is a large amount of dust in the
extranuclear regions, allowing gaseous refractory metals to deposit. The
extended emission regions are most likely material shredded from nearby cluster
members and not gas condensed from the cooling flow or expelled from the
obscured quasar. Our data provide strong evidence for matter-bounded clouds in
addition to ionization-bounded clouds in the NLR. Ionization by pure velocity
shocks can be ruled out. Shocks with photoionizing precursors may be present,

Aubry-Mather measures in the non convex setting
The adjoint method, introduced in [L. C. Evans, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., 197 (2010), pp. 1053–1088] and [H. V. Tran, Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations, 41 (2011), pp. 301–319], is used to construct analogues to the Aubry–Mather measures for nonconvex Hamiltonians. More precisely, a general construction of probability measures, which in the convex setting agree with Mather measures, is provided. These measures may fail to be invariant under the Hamiltonian flow and a dissipation arises, which is described by a positive semidefinite matrix of Borel measures. However, in the case of uniformly quasiconvex Hamiltonians the dissipation vanishes, and as a consequence the invariance is guaranteed.

Sustainable Growth and Ethics: a Study of Business Ethics in Vietnam Between Business Students and Working Adults
Sustainable growth is not only the ultimate goal of business corporations but also the primary target of local governments as well as regional and global economies. One of the cornerstones of sustainable growth is ethics. An ethical organizational culture provides support to achieve sustainable growth. Ethical leaders and employees have great potential for positive influence on decisions and behaviors that lead to sustainability. Ethical behavior, therefore, is expected of everyone in the modern workplace. As a result, companies devote many resources and training programs to make sure their employees live according to the high ethical standards. This study provides an analysis of Vietnamese business students’ level of ethical maturity based on gender, education, work experience, and ethics training. The results of data from 260 business students compared with 704 working adults in Vietnam demonstrate that students have a significantly higher level of ethical maturity. Furthermore, gender and work experience are significant factors in ethical maturity. While more educated respondents and those who had completed an ethics course did have a higher level of ethical maturity, the results were not statistically significant. Micro-Brillouin spectroscopy mapping of the residual density field induced by Vickers indentation in a soda-lime silicate glass
High-resolution Brillouin scattering is used to achieve 3-dimensional maps of
the longitudinal acoustic mode frequency shift in soda-lime silicate glasses
subject to Vickers indentations. Assuming that residual stress-induced effects
are simply proportional to density changes, residual densification fields are
obtained. The density gradient is nearly isotropic, confirming earlier optical
observations made on a similar glass. The results show that Brillouin
micro-spectroscopy opens the way to a fully quantitative comparison of
experimental data with predictions of mechanical models for the identification
