    Saturated Critical Heat Flux in a Multi-Microchannel Heat Sink Fed by a Split Flow System

    An extensive experimental campaign has been carried out for the measurement of saturated critical heat flux in a multi-microchannel copper heat sink. The heat sink was formed by 29 parallel channels that were 199 μm wide and 756 μm deep. In order to increase the critical heat flux and reduce the two-phase pressure drop, a split flow system was implemented with one central inlet at the middle of the channels and two outlets at either end. The base critical heat flux was measured using three HFC Refrigerants (R134a, R236fa and R245fa) for mass fluxes ranging from 250 to 1500 kg/m2 s, inlet subcoolings from −25 to −5 K and saturation temperatures from 20 to 50 °C. The parametric effects of mass velocity, saturation temperature and inlet subcooling were investigated. The analysis showed that significantly higher CHF was obtainable with the split flow system (one inlet–two outlets) compared to the single inlet–single outlet system, providing also a much lower pressure drop. Notably several existing predictive methods matched the experimental data quite well and quantitatively predicted the benefit of higher CHF of the split flow

    The purpose of this study is to better understand parental knowledge of nutrition labels and how this knowledge affects their child’s BMI. A large proportion of US parents have limited health literacy skills on how to read and use labels. Socioeconomic status and other demographics may affect this knowledge. We predict that children of parents who lack nutrition label knowledge will have higher BMIs than children whose parents have nutrition label knowledge

    Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) dipertimbangkan sebagai bagian integral dari sebuah Perusahaan pada beragam skala, termasuk USAha mikro dan kecil. Namun demikian, efektivitas TIK dalam mendukung peningkatan kinerja USAha (firm performance) sangat bergantung pada tingkat keselarasan strategis antara ICT dengan strategi bisnis yang disusun dan diimplementasikan Perusahaan. Variabel penelitian yang meliputi komprehensivitas strategi bisnis, komprehensivitas strategi TIK, kinerja USAha, dan variabel yang berpotensi memengaruhinya baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung, yaitu tingkat pengetahuan pelaku USAha mikro dan kecil tentang TIK, intensitas pemanfaatan fasilitas TIK, persepsi pelaku USAha mikro dan kecil tentang tingkat kepentingan informasi bisnis, dan intensitas pemindaian lingkungan bisnis diperoleh dari 113 pelaku USAha mikro dan kecil. Derajat keselarasan strategis antara strategi bisnis dan strategi TIK diestimasi dengan perkalian antara komprehensivitas strategi bisnis dan komprehensivitas strategi TIK. Model analisa jalur (Path Analysis Model) digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penilitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komprehensivitas strategi bisnis, komprehensivitas strategi TIK, dan keselarasan stretegis antara strategi bisnis dan strategi TIK secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja USAha, dalam hal ini USAha mikro dan kecil. Sementara itu, ketiga variabel tersebut dipengaruhi, dalam arah dan derajat yang berbeda, oleh tingkat pengetahuan umum tentang TIK, intensitas pemanfaatan fasilitas TIK, persepsi tentang tingkat kepentingan informasi bisnis, dan intensitas pemindaian lingkungan bisnis. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan umum tentang TIK, intensitas pemanfaatan fasilitas TIK, persepsi tentang tingkat kepentingan informasi bisnis, dan intensitas pemindaian lingkungan bisnis berpengaruh secara tidak langsung, melalui strategi bisnis, strategi TIK, dan keselarasan antara keduanya, terhadap kinerja USAha

    Produksi buncis di Indonesia masih rendah dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lain. Hal ini diakibatkan oleh serangan nematoda bengkak akar (Meloidogyne spp.). Usaha pengendalian Meloidogyne spp. dapat dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, salah satunya dengan pemanfaatan musuh alami Meloidogyne spp. yaitu Paecilomyces fumosoroseus dan Pasteuria penetrans. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh efektifitas P. fumosoroseus, dan P. penetrans, atau campuran keduanya terhadap indeks gall akar, jumlah telur, berat segar bagian atas tanaman, jumlah larva II Meloidogyne spp. dalam 100 ml tanah, dan hasil tanaman buncis. Penelitian menggunakan metode percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok, terdiri atas 8 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah tanaman buncis diinokulasi dengan: 1). Meloidogyne spp. + P. fumosoroseus, 2). Meloidogyne spp. + Pasteuria penetrans, 3). Meloidogyne spp. + P. fumosoroseus + P. penetrans, 4). Hanya Meloidogyne spp., 5). Hanya P. fumosoroseus, 6). Hanya P. penetrans, 7). P. fumosoroseus + P. penetrans. 8). Kontrol tanpa perlakuan. Data hasil percobaan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan, bahwa perlakuan yang mengandung Meloidogyne spp. dan P. fumosoroseus, atau Meloidogyne spp. dan P. penetrans, atau Meloidogyne spp. ditambah P. fumosoroseus dan P. penetrans mampu menurunkan indeks gall akar, jumlah telur, mampu meningkatkan berat segar bagian atas tanaman, menurunkan jumlah larva II Meloidogyne spp. dalam 100 ml tanah, dan meningkatkan hasil tanaman buncis. P. fumosoroseus dan P. penetrans yang diaplikasikan bersama mampu menurunkan jumlah telur, dan jumlah larva II Meloidogyne spp. dalam 100 ml tanah, dan hasil buncis lebih tinggi dibandingkan jika diaplikasikan secara sendiri-sendiri

    The purpose of the study is to describe how STAD cooperative learning improves seventh grade students of SMPN 4 Watampone comprehension of sets in mathematics. The study is a Classroom Action Research. After undergoing two cycles, the result of the study revealed that STAD cooperative learning is not enough to increase student comprehension. Therefore, researcher needs the additional action in each phase. The additional action consists of presenting the material using animated powerpoint and simulation method, giving an instruction to the group that have difficulties, reminding the student that there will be a test in the end of the lesson, and finally, giving rewards such as nomination (superior team, great team, and good team) and stationary.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pembelajaran STAD yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas VII B SMPN 4 Watampone pada materi himpunan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah melalui dua siklus, pembelajaran tipe STAD saja belum cukup untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan STAD yang dalam setiap sintaksnya ditambahkan tindakan tertentu. Tindakan tersebut meliputi penyajian materi menggunakan powerpoint yang beranimasi dan metode simulasi, memberikan pengarahan bagi kelompok yang mengalami kesulitan, mengingatkan siswa bahwa ada kuis di akhir pembelajaran, dan pemberian penghargaan berupa predikat (tim super, tim hebat, tim baik) dan alat tulis

    Effects of Compost on Nematode Pratylenchus SP. (Tylenchida: Pratylenchidae) Population in Patchouli

    Patchouli is seen as one of the most important export commodities in Indonesia. The presence of parasitic nematode Pratylenchus sp. creates a barrier to plant cultivation. Increasing organic content in soil by applying compost in the plantation is one of approaches in controlling the nematode. This research was mainly aimed to study the effects of compost fertilization on the population growth of nematode Pratylenchus sp. and yields on patchouli. These research used a Completely Randomised Design (CRD) consisting of 12 treatments with three replicates. Selected plant was inoculated with nematodes with the following initial population: 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 nematodes in soil with and without compost. The plant with no inoculation was used as control. The result of the research confirmed that the addition of compost was capable of suppressing the population of nematode Pratylenchus sp. as much as 58.93 - 67.31% and 40.74 - 59.19% in root and in soil of each treatment, respectively. Compost applied in each treatment positively affected the increasing amount of Patchouli oil yielded, and it could also reduce the loss as much as 18.34 - 43.36%. Trichoderma sp. was found to be dominant in compost in the treatment with its population of 2.1 × 104 propogul/g

    Their efforts to save the forests and increase the amount of benefit, at this time began use of environmental services, one through nature tourism activities. Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park as a conservation area has been used as a natural tourism activities and one of them is climbing Bukit Raya. In addition to have a positive impact, climbing activities also had a negative impact if it does not pay attention to the environmental carrying capacity climbing lane itself. This study aimed to calculate the carrying capacity Bukit Raya hiking paths that are on the West Kalimantan. The method used in this research is to calculate the physical carrying capacity (PCC), the real carrying capacity (RCC) and the effective carrying capacity (ECC) with the formula developed by Cifuentes (1992). Calculation shows the value of PCC in Bukit Raya hiking trail is 200 people per day, RCC sebannyak 15 people per day and Bukit Raya ECC climbing path can not be calculated due to the lack of tread design that affect the facility and the appointment of management personnel definitively.Keywords: Capability, Trailhead, Ecotourism, National Park, Bukit RayaCara sitasi: Aryanto ,T., Purnaweni, H., dan Soeprobowati, T.
